Taking his comment out of context to beat him with is a douche bag move mate. Im sure he fully appreciates the position we are in. However he, like many in this forum IS questioning the £32 Mil spend on a player we could do without due the strength of players we already have in that position when we could look to have spend that EXACT same money to secure someone who plays upfront where it is categorically stated we are in need of strengthening. Is Willian £32 Mil better than Moses? especially seeing as Mata, Hazard, KDB and Oscar are in competition for those places, Shúrrle offers something different in the same space Lets be straight here if reports are true we only bid £25 Mil MAX for Rooney £32 Mil would be closer to the mark, £40 Mil would be about his market value, we have paid £7Mil to have Eto'o in the squad and allowed Lukaku and Moses to move. My guess is that 99% of Chelsea fans would rather have Rooney, Moses and Lukaku (all English trained so no squad issues (lukaku?)) in the Team than Willian, Eto'o and Ba even though barring loan fees that is about the same cost to Chelsea. this is not about how unfair it is that Chelsea have spent money, more that they have spent money in the wrong places, which especially with FFP coming in is precisely what we need to avoid. Other strikers who have been available over the window who could have strengthened us for less than £32 Mil... Jovetic, Negredo, Saldado, Tevez, Lukaku(!lol!) i know these all moved to other clubs and were not neccesarily Chelsea bound but its food for thought.

I think what is meant by this is we wanted Sturridge to be a fantastic pacey wideman who could play uptop and offer a real goal threat from the wings. Unfortunately Sturridge ISNT this, he is a good choice for a mobile front three where he plays the focal point in the middle.Not a lone striker as chelsea seem to prefer but more mobile on the last shoulder type player (kinda like a certain F.Torres maybe?) Rogers has hit gold in this but where will he play if Suarez is back is another matter surely you aint gonna put Suarez on the wing.

I'm gonna give it. 5/10. I'm beyond happy that we kept Mata. Shürlle already looks like a really good option for us. Van Ginkel could be very good, he new needs game time though, allowing KDB back is a a good move. Schwarzer is a decent signing bit blah, better than Trumbull but doesn't really affect the Team. Negatives. Willian, we have spent £32mil to upgrade Mata, Oscar and Hazard. Not sure we have spent wisely, not that I think he's gonna be a bad player, I just feel we needed to strengthen other areas of the team more. £32 mil better than Moses? Nope not for a second. Eto'o. Anyone who says we have signed a proven goalscorer seems to have forgotten the fact that he decided 2 years ago of forego a decent standard of football to earn massive amounts of cash. On a 1 year contract for a 32 year old, suffocating game time for lukaku. Nope. Not in my book. On Lukaku. I couldn't give a sh*t if we can 4th and allowed Lukaku a year to get 20-30 games under his belt. As long as he got game time I would sacrifice trophies. We would be massively strengthened in the long run if this happened. Ba is a backup striker if I've ever seen one, Torres is.... Torres. Lukaku IS the future and I think it's absolutely typical of Chelsea's transfer strategy to allow him to go. We have sold or loaned TWO strikers in two windows who are better than Ba and more consistent than Torres. MAJOR FAIL. I wanna see whether we are waiting out on Rooney in jan (with him terminating his contract) or next summer with only a year left. That's the ONLY way I can see this window making sense. WHY only bid £20-25 mil for Rooney at first then spunk £32 Mil on a midfielder we don't really need? if we'd have bid his true value earlier in the summer £40-50 mil, we would have had enough time to move on Ba or Torres and been able to offset some of that fee. I'm expectant to see how Mourinho proves me wrong but I don't disagree with some comments on here. If Benitez did this we'd be calling for his head. The value of good relations an PR at work there.

The huge problem i have with Torres is consistency, IF he can carry that form from here till Christmas the yay, his game does suit Jose's tactics more but im not convinced he's still got it in him. how many more managers and players are going to be the "key" to bringing back the old Torres?

The problem we are having at Chelsea is the turn over of managers, no-one can afford to lose a few games because they tried out a youngster when all of a sudden your out of a job. Also as soon as a manager starts to believe in a player he's back to square one with the new guy look at Kakuta a few years back, came on for Ancelotti (I think) looked decent, never seen again and we resort to buying 8 different guys in his position. This was the guy we got banned from signing players for, for christ sakes. Bruma, McEchran, Mancienne, Sturridge, Stoch, were all tipped to be Chelsea regulars but were never given a chance. I hope Mourinho is around and is willing to develop Ake, Piazon, Chalohbah, Lukaku, but at the moment im not too encouraged by the signings, Willian, Shurrle and VDG are all ready made players young enough to be around the squad for 10 years slowing the development of these players.

I think either Everton or West Brom over Loserpool. More game time, Doesn't boost a Rival. Steve Clarke did a fantastic job with Kakkers last year and i think it'll be a good move for him, and of course Martinez knows him well so both are decent choices.

My thoughts exactly. All the action happens in the last few days, Rooney HASNT come out and said he wants to stay, I think Eto'o is a replacement for Ba and Rooney is still on the cards. Real will be shifting a few players next few days and i can see Utd and Arsenal fighting over Benzema, Ozil, Di Maria, and i can see Rooney being up for grabs for £45-50 Mil. And More to the point he will be a steal at that price. I dont know what we were doing f**king around at £25 Mil.

Etoo offers more than Ba especially as Mourinho prefers him coming off the wing as opposed to a central striker, he wanted him before to partner Drogba but Abramovic bought Sheva. In the Inter Treble year he had Milito as the top dog and Eto'o supporting. I think he'll do a similar thing here with Kakkers. Im not convinced though he offer Chelsea too much and my comments on the Torres thread stand; Chelsea need 3 strikers, a TOP A+ World Class Striker, a potential world superstar and a seasoned vet who does the Job when called upon but is not necessarily playing every game. Chelsea already have the Potential Superstar in Kakkers and the Vet in Ba (who will be on considerably less that Eto'o) its the A+ Player we are missing. Torres isnt that and until we have a line leading forward we are not going to unlock the potential of this awesome midfield. I still would like to see 4 transfers happen this window, Ba OUT, Moses Loan, Definitely and If we can get an A+ Forward in, Torres OUT. Ive heard Arsenal are so desperate to prove they can sign players they even got Flamini in today

I think given half the chance Athletic would be interested and for that matter he, with a pay off, would reduce his wages. He's having atorrid time in the club and a chance to reinvigorate his career at a his boyhood club where he is still worshipped and has a stated desire to play for again. I dont see the point in moving Ba off he'll fit the space of decent, not spectacular mercenary who's willing to pitch in play a few games not complain that we let Kakkers and *Superstar* run the show. Never really getting noted as first choice but able to put a shift in when required, much like any good 2/3rd choice keeper, Hilario for instance. It may sound bad but its the truth.

First Post, Hey guys. Probably been said already but @timetowaste seems to think otherwise. In a world of FFP rules, what club in their right mind could afford a £175k a week striker as backup? Chelsea need 3 strikers, the Up and Coming youngster (Lukaku) who could be the next big thing, a solid back up (Ba) on decent but not extravagant wages and finally a World Class 30 goal a season player in the height of his career, Torres nearly meets that criteria except the little issue about scoring regularly. IF Chelsea could coax the 08/09 striker out the malaise which has engulfed him for the last 4 years then great but can anyone truly see that being the case? It would be best for all parties if Chelsea bought in a top quality striker and allowed Torres to move on, I can virtually guarantee Ath Madrid would welcome him back like a son, tell me that doesnt sound better than holding onto a striker who clearly needs to re discover his mojo.
