  1. Cracking save from Howard tbh. 3-1 I predict... also my bet haha
  2. Don't know why but after watching that, it finally hit me... We'll never see Lampard in a Chelsea strip again. Depressing haha, what a journey though, I mind winding my mate up to no end as he thought Bayern would walk it. "Germans never lose on penalties." "They do now."
  3. Haha, granted it looks bad given his recent performances. But watching him at Everton, sometimes it looked like he scored for fun and other times it looked like they were down a man. My point there was if he's mentally aware enough, and improves the way I think he can, he will be a top striker. I just don't want him to remain a young prospect for another couple of years and then turn into a guy that people look back on and go "Remember when he was touted as the next Drogba?" I don't think there's a better manager than Mourinho to transform Lukaku from an exciting prospect into a top class striker.
  4. Exactly, and I'm not having a go at the players, infact I almost feel for them because I was 19/20 and being called the next big thing, I'd admittedly put in more half-arsed performances and let my rep do the talking. Not saying that will happen to that extreme but I can't help wonder if some of the young players believe the bollocks.
  5. In my heart of hearts, I want him to succeed at Chelsea - I think we all do. However in my head, if keeps talking the talk without actually performing, he'll turn into another Bendter, guy who's above everyone else and believes in his own sh*t. The ball's in his court to shut his mouth and put in performances, because lets not kid ourselves, it's 100% his loss if he up and leaves Chelsea and just becomes a good mid-table player. He's what, 21? I'd like him to just keep his head down and show that he's best instead of telling us. Technically, he's very good. I think it's his mentality that's holding him and he'll need to sort that out now if he's ever to become even close to Drogba.
  6. Yeah, G. Lineker was talking about all the great youth prospects in the English team and Hansen (Love him or hate him) was having none of it, saying something like "I don't see one player there that will become world class". That's why I can't buy the foreign players argument, if you're good enough, you'll play. Not English so I don't know but what do people really expect? England should just produce a Ronaldo or Messi out the blue? England's "best" player/poster boy is Rooney and the media talk him up as if he's up there but he's been consistently sh*t for England, and not much better for Utd lately, same with Gerrard really. It's a ballsy move but I just wonder if they two had at least been dropped for a game, would the team play better?
  7. It's hard to compare Costa and Mario as one plays in La Liga (Easy to score goals, slow paced) and the other in Bundesliga (More physical, harder to score against German defence) that's why I never read too much into stats. I just prefer Mario's game, quick, quite strong, great passer, good finisher. Getting both in would be quality but with Luiz off to PSG, I don't know if Chelsea will still try get Mandzukic. The pros for me personally are: Cheaper, less 'controversy', think his style would suit Chelsea more compared to Costa as our team isn't built around the striker. Cons: Older.

  9. Think some of you need to stop reading stats, seeing highlights in a champs league game etc. And just watch a few of his matches, his build-up play is second to none (maybe Benzema actually) and he's great on and off the ball. He really is a great player and if Bayern really are offering him + 15 mil for Luiz, I think Chelsea would be daft not to take it.
  10. Sure I read somewhere that it's a six figure fine they will pay and their squad will be deducted or whatever to just 22 in Europe... also have to play 8 "home-grown" players. I'll try and find out where I read that cause obviously it's a lot of bollocks with no source lol. Point being though I'd rather not the break the rules when it comes to FFP.
  11. Cole clearly has at the very least one more season in him, surely he can replace azpi at LB while azpi replaces Ivan? (He should just be a cover CB anyway) No chance Terry's off, probably coming off one of his best seasons they'd be daft not to give him another year at least.
  12. I'm a bit half cut so apologies haha, but if Costa is with us next season, I see no problem for one reason. Mourinho has saw this player for a good few seasons when he was at Madrid and if he rates him, how can I argue? I understand peoples concerns cause lets face it, La Liga is easy for strikers (ronaldo/messi would never get those numbers in the prem), but this guy is more than just a flavour of the month, he seems like a warrior (cliche I know) but we really do need that upfront.
  13. It's a sh*tty and brilliant dilemma/choice to have. Hopefully we're starting next season with three Belgians!
  14. Last CL Final, Dortmund vs Bayern, just before it, like a few days it was official that Gotze was joining Munich next season. (Lewi as well maybe?) Never know with the Costa transfer, that price, if true would be good imo.
  15. Haha sorry mate, thought you were talking about Bayern vs Dortmund one!
  16. Was he? I didn't watch the final. I watched him a lot last season and honestly think he's underrated, the positions he gets himself in are brilliant and he's one of those strikers who'll never feature on a Best Goal of the Season list. He basically scores a lot of tap-ins and headers. I don't know... just someone different compared to these other strikers who come out and collect the ball which sometimes overcrowds the midfield.
  17. Was expecting that sort of thing from VERY small news outlets (websites and such), but I was watching the Juve game last night on Fox Sports (stream) and they pulled up the 'quote' and said something like we're in a decline. f**king grade-a nonsense, these people are actually paid to speak such drivel.
  18. Some strikers people don't talk about that realistically would be good for us. Mario Gomez - Although the same build as Lukaku, he's an old-school poacher, good work-rate and scores goals left, right and centre (and on his head!). He's 28-29(?) so a bit old but guaranteed goals. (Only issue is he's injured just now and I'm not sure how prone he is to that) Mario Mandzukic - The reason Gomez was 'kicked' out the Bayern squad last season, he was in sh*t-hot form. Great build-up play, decent enough finisher and he would suit our style of footie. (Also I believe he's not keen on the system Pep's instilled AND he'll without a doubt lose his spot with Lewi coming in next season.) Mario Balotelli - You know the score, personally though I'm not keen on him. Mario Karim Benzema - Amazing build-up play, average finisher, only 24-25 and will be attainable IF Madrid manage to lure Suarez away. (Also played under Mou for a few seasons) My personal favourite of the 4 is Mario Gomez, however realistically it's Mandzukic who is a lot more dynamic and would without a doubt benefit us. For anyone that doesn't rate him honestly go and watch full Bayern games, especially last season.
