Cesc Fabregas
I am not gonna read into these rumors very deep, but pairing Fabregas with Matic and maybe Ramires (have a three DM formation with Fabregas being the deep lying playmaker), would be incredible!

Diego Costa to Chelsea
Well June 9th to be exact is when the transfer window opens (July 1st in Spain)...so any of these "done deals" that are right now just rumors, won't be officially completed and announced until that time. Hence why David Luiz is right now still a Chelsea player even though we all know he is going to PSG.

Diego Costa to Chelsea
Let's wait until June 10th before we rush to any conclusions. But gutting their team like that (especially if Koke is gonna be leaving also) is gonna hurt big time for AM.

Toni Kroos
Kroos for 20 - 25M >>> Pogba for 40M+ HOWEVER Pogba >>> Kroos

Best fit regardless of price = Pogba Best long term option = Barkley Most likely to get = Koke / Rakitic

Diego Costa to Chelsea
If they haven't done it in the leagues they were playing in (and they haven't), THEY WON'T do it at a top flight club in the PL, or in the CL

Diego Costa to Chelsea
In fact, Liverpool's strikers scored 2/3 of the amount of goals that our entire team scored last season(71).

Diego Costa to Chelsea
Ummm just look at our main competition from last season: Liverpool: 52 goals from their strikers (31 Suarez, 21 Sturridge...#1 and #2 in the league) Manchester City: 42 goals from their strikers (3 options) Manchester United: 42 goals from their strikers (4 options) Arsenal: 24 goals from their strikers (2 options) Chelsea: 19 goals from our 3 strikers...and then if you wanna count Schurrle's 8 (which I don't since he played on the wing most of the times he scored), you are up to 27 We need somebody who has the potential to score 19-27 goals ON THEIR OWN. NONE of those players you mentioned (even Lukaku) will be able to do that for us. I am not even sure if Costa is the right guy for that job, but it's really our only legit option for a realistic price.

Diego Costa to Chelsea
Spot on man! Costa is never gonna be as flashy as Ronaldo, Messi, Ibra, Neymar or a handful of other top class strikers. But he is far and beyond better than we have had since Drogba, and for his price and age. We might as well try it out. You people forget, we do have Lukaku if things don't work out right away.

Diego Costa to Chelsea
So who is worthy of being our #1 striker? And please don't say Lukaku or Mandžuki? because neither of them are "game changing" striker options. Cavani for me is the only one who would be worthy of the spot, but you're gonna spend almost 60M to get him.

Luke Shaw, Ashley Cole's Successor?
It depends on if that will even buy them both. To be quite honest, if we used this money from Luiz to get Pogba and Shaw, I'd be all for that. Yes Barkley is likely to stay with us longer than Pogba would, but Pogba fills an immediate need (CDM Playmaker) and already has those skills. Barkley would need to develop those skills because he is more of a CAM or winger at the moment.

Luke Shaw, Ashley Cole's Successor?
This way we have Ivanovic as an insurance at CB for the upcoming year when (because we know it is probably gonna happen), Terry isn't fit for a string of matches. Last year we were using Luiz whenever that happened, and we all know how Luiz is as a CB.

Luke Shaw, Ashley Cole's Successor?
You posted this as I was making my post, but yeah, you are exactly right.

Luke Shaw, Ashley Cole's Successor?
Again, Ivanovic I feel is BETTER as a RCB rather than a pure Right Back. This is basically how we'd be breaking the transition down. Shaw for Azpi Azpi for Ivanovic Ivanovic (in a year) for Terry So basically in 2 1/2 years we will go from having a defense of: LB: Cole CB: Luiz CB: Terry RB: Ivanovic to a defense of: LB: Shaw CB: Cahill CB: Ivanovic RB: Azpi

The Deep-Lying Playmaker Thread
Well if you are wanting someone to replace Frank, then we should go with Barkley. Not because he is English and paired with Shaw could lead us for the next decade or two, but because I feel that his attacking play is very similar to how Frank was when he was younger. I actually really like Vidal myself, but the fact that he just had knee surgery (and who knows if he will be the same player once he is recovered) scares me a lot. Combined that with the fact that we are really trying to become a younger team, and Vidal is 27 and Pogba is 21 is a huge factor. Yeah, we will have to pay a lot more for Pogba, but if we managed to get him he could be with our squad for a long time.

Huh? Not as good as Vidal going forward? Pogba reminds me a lot like Yaya Toure. Strong, quick, great ball control, and great vision.

Luke Shaw, Ashley Cole's Successor?
Dave at Left Back? Absolutely Shaw is as good if not better than Dave is at Left Back. Dave is a natural Right Back and we threw him into Left Back because we didn't rate Cole anymore.

The Deep-Lying Playmaker Thread
Maybe I do, but as we have seen the past several summers (continuing into this summer with the astronomical amount of money we got for an okay footballer), you have to pay higher than face value for the great players. Now if Juve is REALLY REALLY interested in selling Pogba and REALY REALLY is interested in Ramires, then we might be able to get away with a 15-20M + Ramires swap. However, if there is any hesitation from them on either of those terms, we have to sweeten the pot a bit by adding more money.

Kalas and Zouma will likely get more of the opportunities than Chalobah will.

The Deep-Lying Playmaker Thread
25-30M + Ramires for Pogba I think would be fair. That then leaves us 20-25M to use for either Shaw, Costa, Barkley or Mandzukic.

That'd be one hell of a summer!

The Deep-Lying Playmaker Thread
Vidal just had knee surgery earlier this month. And if we throw out 35-40M to Juve for Pogba (especially since Asamoah plays the same spot at Pogba and Vidal do), I don't see why Juve wouldn't sell him to us. I think we have a better chance at getting Pogba than we do getting Koke or Kroos.

The Deep-Lying Playmaker Thread
1. Pogba | | V 2. Kroos 2.5. Koke (My main reason is because if we want Costa, Courtois and maybe Filipe Luis, we might piss AM off if we try to gut their entire team) | | | | | V 3. Fabregas 4. Vidal | | | | | | | V 5. Paulinho

At least in FIFA 14 he is fast :-) I haven't seen much of Juve this year so he probably has lost a step or two since I saw him at Bilbao And by fast, I really mean foot speed (like Pogba has), less than I mean pace.

If you haven't noticed, prices for top class players have become massively inflated. The fact that we got 18M for KDB (who hardly played for us) and the rumored 40-50M for Luiz, just goes to prove my point. Juve is one of the quicker teams in Italy, Tevez and Llorente are some of the fastest strikers in the world. 40M for a 21 year old Pogba would IMO be a better value than say 20-30M for: An unproven and 26 year old Rakitic A 24 year old Kroos (who can't seem to get starts at Bayern) A 27 year old (and injury prone) Vidal Or a 22 year old Koke (who really only showed up on people's radar this season) The only other midfielder that I might consider spending over 30M for is Barkley and have him try to become the next Lampard.
