  1. In my opinion, Pogba would be the ONLY person who I would pay 40M for at the Deep-Lying Playmaker spot. Dude has some insane vision and ball-control skills, and he has proven himself at a big club already (while Rakitic hasn't). If we want to use this money on several players, I think Koke or Rakitic would be the best value, but if that were the case then we'd have to turn and spend whatever money is left over after the purchase of one of them and get a LB (Filipe Luis or Shaw)
  2. Pogba over Vidal all day, every day. But if this is looking as true as everyone is reporting it is, we are making out like complete and utter bandits on this transfer. Clearly Luiz wasn't in JM's plans (he isn't ever gonna be a CB, considering who we have already at that position), he didn't show anything when we paired him with Matic in midfield. So letting him go was almost required. But getting that much for him is a godsend. Now if we can use that money to bring in someone like Pogba, Koke, Rakitic or Kroos, then I'd say that would be a complete and TOTAL victory on the part of Chelsea.
  3. I will believe this when it's official (because two weeks ago Luiz was all but going to Barcelona), but if PSG wants to give us 50 Million for him, by all means take him! Hell they can take Torres or Ramires with him for that fee.
  4. The more videos I watch of Rakitic the more I want him. Idk if Jose is even interested in him, but him and Matic (although Kroos or Koke would both be nice paired with him) would be sick. If we bring in Costa, Rakitic, Courtois, and Lukaku, I'd call it a great summer.
  5. I've been reading a lot of these posts and honestly, who cares? We act like playing for Chelsea demands the same behavior as one who is visiting Buckingham Palace. In the end we are a football club, in the end our goal is to win, in the end we require somebody who can score goals at the striker position. If Diego Costa brings us those things, and doesn't go as far as biting people like Ratboy has done, then who cares if he has a sh***y attitude or acts like a thug. Maybe that is the problem with our strikers since Drogba left, they don't have the anger and aggression needed to perform well. Terry will put him in his place if he acts out, so we shouldn't be freaking out over these stupid antics of him. Just appreciate the fact that we are getting a world class striker for less than 40M.
  6. On a side note, I'm American, but I think that this squad looks better than some of the past English WC teams. I think Jay Rodriguez would have been a better choice than Lambert, if he hadn't gotten injured. GK: Hart LB: Shaw CB: Cahill CB: Jagelika RB: Baines MF Barkley / Henderson MF: Gerrard AM: Lallana / Sterling AM: Milner FW: Rooney ST: Sturridge
  7. Cahill, Milner and Lambert look particularly BAD, Rooney looks like the a love child of Jason Statham and Dominic Monaghan, and Baines (he does always looks this way though), looks like he should be in a Brit-Pop Band.
  8. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Bnb9wUYIIAAcWgR.jpg Why do all the pictures of these guys look AWFUL?
  9. Hopefully that makes sense.
  10. Well I live in the States and typically there is an MVP (which is basically the one player that if the team didn't have that season they wouldn't have accomplished what they did). In this case I consider Player of the Year to be the player that has contributed the most throughout the year, which is not necessarily the same as the MVP. Long story short, I consider MVP to be an award solely for an individual players skills (kinda like the Ballon D'or), while the Player of the Year is an award for the players contribution to the overall team.
  11. MVP = Hazard (We wouldn't have had a shot at winning either the PL or the CL this year without him) Player of the Year = Dave / Cahill (both have shown massive improvement this season and have completely shut down high powered attacking teams)
  12. I picture Shaw and Barkley as the second coming of Terry and Lampard. Make it happen Jose! A summer of Costa, Shaw and Barkley would be perfect IMO.
  13. At this point in time, I'd let Oscar go if we got Goetz, Cavani or Kroos back. He isn't as spectacular as everybody thinks he is and all of those guys we need more right now.
  14. I'm starting to warm to the idea of having Costa as our main guy, with Lukaku #2 and Drogba mentoring him and being a 3rd options to go to in a pinch.
  15. That would be THE BEST summer we've seen in a LONG LONG TIME. Pogba, Vidal, Koke, or Kroos instead of Barkley would be fine with me also. I could see Cavanni playing behind Costa as a Second Striker in that line-up (sort of like how Totti plays at Roma). He is a bigger player and could get a lot of garbage goals from saved shots from the feet of Costa and Hazard.
  16. Luke Shaw Ross Barkley Adam Lallana Jay Rodriguez Daniel Sturridge In that order Leighton Baines and Wayne Rooney would be nice additions for older players.
  17. Schurrle for 18.7m - 8/10 (Has had some very productive games and is really the only player outside of Hazard who has been able to create his own scoring chances) Schwarzer for free - 8/10 (Played in some big matches at the end, including a clean sheet against Liverpool) Willian for 30m- 6/10 (Incredibly inconsistent, one match he looks pacey and incredible, others he makes terrible passes and loses the ball way too easily) Eto'o for 2m - 7.5/10 (He has been our only real option at striker, but injuries haven't allowed him to contribute consistently) Matic for 21m - 9/10 (In less than 4 months he has solidified the midfield defensively. He does have some bad stretches during matches where he loses the ball too easily or makes poor passes) Salah for 11m - 7/10 (His speed is incredible, and he has the talent to produce offensively, he hasn't had many opportunities and he doesn't have the best finishing technique...To be continued)
  18. Schwarzer Cole Terry Kalas Azpi Van Ginkle Matic Schurrle Hazard Salah Torres Bench: Ake, Baker, Lampard, Cahill, Willian, Ba.
  19. This is pretty much what I'd say.
  20. Anybody think we could pry Llorente away from Juventus? He obviously wouldn't be the number one choice and he'd probably play second fiddle to Lukaku, but he'd be a nice option if we can't get Cavanni or Costa.
  21. I like that line-up. It gives us bench flexibility in our midfield (Schurrle and Oscar available), and it allows us to switch to our normal 4-2-3-1 if Terry goes down by moving whatever Defender is gonna be playing DM. I'd rather Eto'o have started, but he might not be fit enough to start. I'd expect him to come in at some point though.
