Curbishley to bend over to an old friend
That would be no fun. I just noticed a few cry baby comments on the BBC site from Chelsea fans, so I thought I would drop in here to see what was being said. No point hanging around a bunch of guys that agree with me, winding people up is more fun.

Curbishley to bend over to an old friend
You talking to me? I am watching online in Florida using dual monitors. The crappy sopcast is taking up half of one screen and I am doing emails and a little surfing at the same time.

Curbishley to bend over to an old friend
- Good luck in the next three games
No, not one bit. They lost Vidic early on, and Rooney picked up an injury. United have always had little dips after European games, so it doesn't worry me one bit.- Why do you support The Blues?
Here is an interesting slant from a Man United supporter. I am sure there are many long standing loyal Chelsea fans that have seen the bad times, stood in the old shed-end and are now enjoying a little success. There are also a hell of a lot of glory hunting Chelsea fans around these days. Whether those people are Johnny come lately or just 'new' fans that have jumped on the bandwagon, they are still glory hunters. Isn't it funny how success increases a fan base. BTW - Man United actually had the highest attendances thru the baron years when they won nothing. Even during their relegation season in the 70s they had the highest attendances in England. Contrary to popular believe it is the Munich air disaster and the glamour of the Busby Babes that was the catalyst to United fans base. Obviosuly we have more than our fair share of the glory hunters as well, but that happens to all successful teams.- Good luck in the next three games
Man United fan in peace. I occasionally pop on this site because I live in the US and miss the day-to-day banter with real football fans. There are some good posters on this forum and I like the way the admins tolerate a little bad language......makes the site feel more 'real' IMO. Anyways, its been an interesting season, especially for you guys. I think most people thought the sudden departure of Mourinho would cost Chelsea the chance of glory this season but Mr. Grant has actually managed to get you in a good spot right now. He obviously doesn't have the charisma that Mourinho had, lets face who does, but hats off to the guy and resolve of the team for grinding out results. Obviously I want Man United to win the double but if they pull it off I would definitely sympathize with Chelsea FC if they came away from the season with nothing. Now Arsenal is another matter, for some reason I enjoyed seeing their demise. So good luck in the next three weeks, its been a fun ride. BTW - I am born and raised in Manchester, every home game from 1975-2001. So no sarcastic remarks about glory hunting man U fans.- v Wigan
LOL sunshine, now there is a first. Got to love foul mouthed Internet hard-men, priceless. The season was underway and considering you have made one cup final, still have a shot at the league, and a very good shot at the CL, you can't really argue against his appointment as a stop gap measure. At the end of the day the rich Russian is Chelsea FC........sell your sole to the devil and he will call the shots.- v Wigan
Funny stuff. You get a ton of outside cash from a rich benefactor, and a couple of good seasons, and now you think you should be perennial world beaters. Coming second, and reaching the semi-finals of the CL is pretty good going. Beat Liverpool and you can still finish the season with the real prize. You will be contending next year, be happy. Its not about being perennial world beaters although it might appear that way. We just want a real manager. Grant is not going to bring us trophies or style. I assume you support United. Can you honestly say that you would be OK with Grant taking over from Fergie when he retired for example? Good point! I would have been very upset if Grant had replaced the chosen one but in all fairness your season has been better than I originally thought it would be when Grant took over. You guys got a little bit spoilt with Mourinho, he is a very special manager. I think Grant has done enough this year to give him a year or two and see how things work out. Man United had money and many managers for years with no success, and other teams have gone through that depressing cycle(Liverpool - *cough*). Changing the manager now is no guarantee of success next year or in the future. Ultimately the rich Russian will unilaterally decide who manages the team next year. Be thankful you were in the race until the end, and its not over yet. You also made the league cup final and still have a huge game in the CL to look forward to. If that is not enough to cheer you up a little think back to what you were doing at this time of year from 1970-2003.- v Wigan
Exactly, not the sort of coach we need at Chelsea. We're not Liverpool FFS, where 2nd is an over-achievement. You will be contending next year, be happy.- v Wigan
Play like that against United and you will get hammered. No way you take three points on Thursday night either. Quit bashing Grant, he did way better than anyone thought he would.- Chelsea vs Middlesbrough
Anything is possible but you have to fancy United with a five point lead a better goal difference. Chelsea have a couple of tough away games in Manchester, and Everton, plus they have the United game. United's run in looks tougher but I think they play up to the oppositions level.- Chelsea vs Middlesbrough
You have got to love the closing weeks of the EPL. With teams fighting for their lives, and a few lucky teams with an eye on Europe, the competition is amazing. Good luck the rest of the way. I would rather finish second behind Chelsea that Arsenal.- Chelsea vs Middlesbrough
I was just thinking along similar lines while watching. With a five point lead and six games left to play it is very unlikely United will not win the league. I can't see Chelsea winning six game straight, and United aren't going to drop many points either.- Super Sunday v's Le Arse
Arsenal are on an awful run, six points clear to six points adrift in five game. I don't think they could beat Derby right now.- Super Sunday v's Le Arse
told you chelsea would score at least one.- Super Sunday v's Le Arse
no chance.....Chelsea will get at least one goal.- Super Sunday v's Le Arse
I would take a draw from this game. That would practically kill the title race for Chelsea and Arsenal. A 90 minutes equalizer would be nice.- match thread - FA Cup away to Barnsley (8/3/08)
It wasnt a foul, Carlo looked like he had lead in his legs. I have seen worse given. Most of the time if you make contact with the keeper its a foul. It wouldn't have surprised anyone if the ref and given a free kick IMO.- Utd out - There are now no excuses not to retain the FA Cup.
Guess what anything can happen in the cup.......made losing to Portsmouth nearly bearable for me.- Piss on the ref for robbing us.
I'm not sure how I'll sleep tonight. LOL...best response yet.....my guess is soundly with a smile on your face.- Newcastle thread
They were sh*te. Hargreaves and Fletcher in midfield wasn't a good combination with West Ham playing five across the middle. The other players, Giggs, Ronaldo, Saha etc, all gave the ball away too easy. Fergy made a major gaff not making changes at HT it was obvious the Hammers were the better team. Any team that wants to mess with United should get the groundsman to take a few yards off the width of the pitch and then flood the midfield. EVERTON JUST SCORED- Newcastle thread
Nope watched on a 42" in the bedroom, HD of course, and guess what he still looked a freaking mile offside.- Newcastle thread
So an obvious offside that should have ruled out a goal makes up for a disputed handball that was deemed correct under appeal. ROFLMAO BTW - West Ham were the better side today and deserved the win. For some reason United have always had problems on narrow pitches going back about 30 years. They always got out played at Southampton and West Ham are now the bogey team.- Piss on the ref for robbing us.
How do you guys feel about the second goal against Newcastle? That was one of the most obvious offsides I have seen in over 30 years of watching football.- Piss on the ref for robbing us.
Ah well, that's all the evidence we need! You would be surprised how much easier it is to spot stuff on a large screen HD TV. I watched the game in bed the first time around and I really couldn't see whether he handled the ball or not on a smaller TV. Last night on the big screen it looked very much like the ball was headed down and glanced off his upper and lower arm. - Good luck in the next three games
