octville
Someone ought to give him some pooh on his face for gifting a point to Villa. We were in there right up to that moment. Sheva had his best game and ballack returned with a bang. To have both Cole and carvalho sent off and Lamps off injured are certainly a blow but the greatest damage is that we are drawing further from the leaders. I think the team showed tremendous effort but a little discipline would have been better. One things for sure though. Grant has to go. Why did he play an injured Cech? He looked still unrecovered. Besides, his record against the Arsenal and Manure has been bad - 0-1 and 0-2. The 2-0 win over the Scouser was not even against their 1st eleven. Please Santa... all i want for Christmas is a proven goalscorer ( or an improving Sheva) and a new Gaffer...hohoho
mjs020294
Someone ought to give him some pooh on his face for gifting a point to Villa. We were in there right up to that moment. The Ref had absolutely no choice with any of the decisions involving the Chelsea red cards. All two footed challenges are now sending off offenses, and Carvalho's challenge was the worst I have seen all season. Joe Cole clearly handled the ball and stopped and definite goal, once again a red card. It was a great game to watch for a neutral, and I think a draw was a fair result. JT26CFC
u mean ashley cole, not joe. I didn't see a.cole using his hand at all, it clearly hit his chest. Now Grant's riegn is going downhill. I still think that he's not capable to manage a top premiership club, or any top club for that matter. A great suprise would be the return of Mourinho...........but im more likely to win a million dollars than that happening. We just have to put up with what we've got and if Lampard plays like cr*p then he clearly doesn't care about the club or fans and should just go as hard as it is to admit. "attacking football" for a draw/loss or Dull 1-0 wins

mjs020294
Sorry for getting Joe and Ashley mixed up, it would be an easy mistake if they weren't different colours. The picture above doesn't prove anything. He did get his head on the ball but it also struck his lower arm and possibly his upper arm after that contact. In the heat of the moment without replays the officials have to make a decision, and the lineman said it struck his lower arm. They referee also made a decision at real time speed on the Chelsea penalty but I have watched the replay several times and the Villa player didn't deliberately make contact with Black, who incidentally went down like Cristiano Ronaldo practicing for Swan Lake. The free kick for Chelsea's forth goal was an absolute joke as well when you watch the replay. Over the 90 minutes I don't think either team can say the referee cost them the game. Chelsea played really poorly and defended like crap, and that is why they dropped points.
dkw
The picture above doesn't prove anything. utter rubbish. the picture, along with the dozen or so replays ive saw, show clearly that there was no handball at all. the ref got it wrong, we should be 2 points better off. I watched the replays last night on my HD 65" TV, and it looks like the ball caught his upper arm and lower arm, which is what the linesman saw. The Fox sports host who is a raving Chelsea fan also thought Cole handled the ball. BTW - Cole's appeal was rejected by the FA.

Y_dizzie
There was clearly no handball here from the replays i saw, even if he did slightly touch it with his arm that wasnt what stopped the ball from going in, his chest did. It cant be more clear to me that we was robbed off 2 points here. I reccon we would be up there along Manu and Ars right now if there wouldnt have been that many dodgy calls against us. One example is when Mikel got a red card against Manu wich would probably have been yellow for any other team, those 20-25 minutes before he was sent off was the best ive seen from us in a long time. If there wouldnt have been a red card im sure we could have got at least a draw the way we were playing.
mjs020294
It cant be more clear to me that we was robbed off 2 points here. This is the hilarious point about whining about referring decisions all the time. So the free kick for the forth goal was a clear cut foul? The Villa penalty was an obvious sending off? Cole had an appeal and I am sure they reviewed it from every possible angle on the very best hi-def monitors, and they deemed he handled the ball. The ref had a few 50:50 decisions to make and if any team should feel those decisions cost them points it should be Villa. A draw was a fair result, and it was one of the most entertaining games I have seen in a longtime.

You would be surprised how much easier it is to spot stuff on a large screen HD TV. I watched the game in bed the first time around and I really couldn't see whether he handled the ball or not on a smaller TV. Last night on the big screen it looked very much like the ball was headed down and glanced off his upper and lower arm.
mjs020294
How do you guys feel about the second goal against Newcastle? That was one of the most obvious offsides I have seen in over 30 years of watching football.

That was one of the most obvious offsides I have seen in over 30 years of watching football. I feel great about it, it makes up for the Cole handball perfectly. And it maybe proves that the refs arent really against us, theyr just blind.
ecthelion
Dont piss on them yet. They helped us thru a very tight spot today. Made amends for Villa's game i wuld say. Still its not very often that Refree helps us.

Modueke
Referee's eh! An bad breakdown in communication with a linesman the other day, a good communication with the linesman today. Still.. keep smiling.. we may looking and playing a further field than the champions, but it could be worse, we could own Ronaldo!
The Brit
about time something went our way...but of course tv/papers will make more of newc being robbed than when we were robbed on boxing day...same with carv red...loads of reds for two-footed challenged lately but his seemed to be talked about even more, although he is the only one to come out and apologise
mad_mac
I have seen more obvious offsides. Kalou was riding pretty close to the line when Mikel's shot came off initially. This makes up for the goal against Blackburn that we had chopped off up at Ewood for supposedly being offside...infact, wasn't that a kalou one? Enrico
I have seen more obvious offsides. Kalou was riding pretty close to the line when Mikel's shot came off initially. He was a full 2 yards offside at least when the shot came off Pizarro. Not obvious enough for you?
