My only concern is how often our FB's get caught out which makes our CB's look bad. Its pretty much like RW said, the diamond working is based on having alot of pessesion which has been the case so far. Wigan were the only ones taking advantage of our advancing FB's by pushing their wide men forward and not sitting back. Imo CA has got the tactics right so far, now lets hope he's not a one trick pony like Scolari.

I have always wondered if its his stamina or lazynes, either way its not good. Zlatan is not a clinical finisher, he never has been allthough has improved, he is a creator/dribbler/post player.

We do need backup for ACN, but where does this signing leave Mikel for the rest of the season? Im guessing on the bench and thats worrying.

SWP cant cross too save his life, Young is probably the best crosser of the ball in the prem. I cant believe people dont rate Young, he can shoot, great free kicks, great crosser of the ball, fast and tricky. He would be good on the counter aswell as suplying crosses when teams park the bus.

Skill wise imo he is on of the best in the world right now, he used to be criticized for his finishing but this year he has improved his shooting. The only reason i dont want him here is his workrate(which by the way also has improved) and lazynes, he gets away with it in the serie a but considering the tempo of the PL i dont think he would work out here.

I think Wilkins will be pretty important to, it seems he and Guus have been getting along good. Hopefully he learned a thing or two from Guus so he can pass on to Anceloti.

The width is coming from Ashley, and Malouda helps link up play with him, also Malouda covers for him when he gets forward. I would enjoy a fb roasting winger too but those are hard to find. It also depends on how our next manager wants us to play Thats a bit harsh dont you think?

We pretty much had to play like that as they were presuring us high up the pitch. I think the big pitch didnt allow lampard Malouda and Essien to get upfield quick enough. Also Maloda and Essien pretty much played as fullbacks. I agree with G4 that we could have used a pacy winger in this one, but Malouda along with Boss helped stifling Messi and Alves down their right. As we probably wont play Essien as a winger next time, whoever plays there Anelka or Kalou will be able to support Drogba better. We will probably have to play the same long balls if they pressure us high, but as i said the smaller pitch should benefit us.

Im not surprised about Chechs misstakes, i mean Bolton had troubles geting out of there own half until their first goal, he was probably dozing off until then. And the fact that Davies is a beast in the air didnt help. I dont think Pool will play long balls like that until they get desperate so i would still stick with Carvalho in there as Tores threat is his speed.

When has JT or Carvalho held the ball for more then 10 seconds, and why would they need to?

The reason Anelka drifts wide is we have nobody out there on the wings. When they congest the midle it seems like he automaticaly gets pushed out wide. Hiddink should have started either Kalou or Quaresma instead of Beleti. Ballack terible again and Lampard one of his worse games.

I aplaud you for doing that, thats whats forums are for. We all have right to diferent opinion as u say and i respect yours. I agree with the article u posted, there are so many things wrong its hard to know who to blame. It apears Roman is getting less and less interested. As for Scolari i still think someone with a proven club record would do better for the remaining of the season. As a Chelsea fan of course i want things to work out for the best.

It was Roman who wanted sexy football but its not his fault Scolari is tacticaly clueless. As a coach you should be able to see when something isnt working, and change tactics, yet his doing the same thing week after week. He should have gave him money to spend already and build his squad from the begining not after a year when Phil has managed to run the team into the ground and out of CL. The wingbacks should get forward against weaker teams of course but only if its neceseray for the team to be able to get forward not just running forward outside of play like an idiot. This game made me realise how inept and desperate Phil is. Like u i was also one who wanted to give him more time, actually along with you i was among the few ones that didnt think Grant did a bad job and i certanly didnt want him fired. But after time and time of mistakes from Phil i just dont feel he can get us a CL spot which is very imortant as u know financialy. What im saying is that as a coach u should be able and have the balls to leave your stars out and change the formation like Jose did leaving out Quaresma and Mancini, changing to 442 as oposed top what he wanted and felt comfortable with. As our wingers are clearly not good enough Scolari could have done the same thing playing Drogba and Anelka upfront or even Di Santo.

I agree the players should take part of the blame but I think its Scolaris fault making us play attacking style, i was not for this from the begining as we dont have the players to play that style. It was just a mater of time before we was found out. For example Paulo should been in for Bosingwa already a few weeks back. Yesterday i lost count of how many times A.Cole was going forward without any need to, at one time he was in the box playing cf. We was lucky it was Hull and wasnt punished. And we all know about his subs. Mancini and Quaresma where pretty expensive signings, they where not even on the bench for most of the season for Inter.
