He was about to go to Inter Milan, untill i read this article on the site of a dutch newspaper: http://www.sportwereld.nl/voetbal/clubdoss...ar_Chelsea.html (good source, first dutch source that said hiddink was comming to chelsea ;) )

FC Twente wants 15 millie, Chelsea wants to give 12 millie, they only need to work that out and then Arnautovic is playing for Chelsea next season. Too bad he sucks...

Chelsea are close to completing a deal for FC Twente hotshot Marko Arnautovic after agreeing personal terms with the Austrian striker. The 20-year-old says he wants to move to Stamford Bridge this summer, but Chelsea and Dutch side Twente are locked in talks over the price tag, according to reports in Holland.Steve McClaren's club are holding out for £13million for the talented striker but Chelsea are trying to negotiate the asking price down.

Arnautovic, who became the leading teenage scorer in the Eredivisie this season, has reportedly agreed terms and is set to become Chelsea's first signing of the summer.

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho wanted the Austrian international but he turned down a move to Inter Milan in favour of a switch to England.

Frank Arnesen, the sporting director at Chelsea, is thought to have played a significant part in the deal and sources in Holland suggest the two clubs are close to agreeing a fee.

Hopefully it will. Cant see why this guy is anywhere near Chelsea-standard and the price is insane.

He clearly has skill and a eye for the goal, almost like Ibrahimovic at Ajax. Would you want us to lose out to another promising youth and have him sign for Manchester United? :431:

I clearly don`t want United to get the best talents out there so why do we go for these players then? We should look at young talents as Benzema and Aguero and not pick our talents from row Z when United pick from the front row.

I know the likes of Aguero and Benzema will på expensive but its time to use som money in this club again.

I am guilty of being a youtube coach here in terms of judging his talent, and he looks big, very quick and seems to have many tricks against defenders

BUT

a scoring record like he has in the Eredivise is pretty underwhelming. I think he would be one of those kind of players we buy, and then immediately loan back to a Dutch/Portuguese/French club to develop. In which case, I think 15 is way too much to ask.

If we are going to spend that much on a youngster unproven in a top league, let it be Dzeko

Well, he scored 12 goals in 28 matches this season. His other records are more telling:

Under-19 FC Twente Squad (2007-2008) - 22 goals in 24 games.

Jong FC Twente (2006-2008) - 27 goals in 32 games

This is according to Wikipedia though...so...

It's worth noting that one of our Chelsea Youth players is in FC Twente right now on loan. This is Slobodan Rajković (the guy who got banned for spitting on the referee). So there is certainly credit to this article, and it's likely that the clubs are familiar with each other.

Are we seriously falling back into the 'he has scored a lot of goals in Holland so he must be good' trap again.

I'd be wiling to bet it would be a disaster.

If he's anything like Ibrahimovic... they're welcome to him.

You're kidding, right? Say what you want about his attitude but Ibrahimovic is a top footballing talent.

If this kid is anything like Zlatan in terms of individual ability he's certainly worth going after.

Well, he didn't score a lot and his youtube clips show nothing special so who knows, maybe he is, in fact, quite good.

There must be a reason why two top clubs like Chelsea and Inter going after him.

I guess the same reason lots of people were looking at Freddy Adu at one stage.

but his attitude is the problem. id much rather have a very good player with an excellent attitude than an incrdible player with an attitude like ibrahimovic. and though hes a superb player, hes never really stood out in a big game as far as i can remember.
