I havent seen those older players play but the comparison between difrerent type of wingers is brilliant, like robben contra Maluoda. With a player like Malouda he usually looks to pass to a cm or lb and then take a run and get the ball on the run thus A.Cole gets more forward. With players that can take on defenders ala robben, they dont rely on other creative players to pass to em, and our lb can sit back instead of risking going forward. Like u say Quaresma is type A winger but from what ive seen from him at Inter he had failed to beat a defender even though he tried to every time he got the ball, dont get me wrong i welcome Quaresma as i think he is the type we need As for Quaresmas trivela or what its called i feel its unnececary to do that just for the sake of it, as its rarely resulted in something good(at least while at Inter).

I agree to, i remember Grant playing SWP as central mid with two wingers, someone like him and Kalou is what we need in these kind of games.

I wanted him allready in the summer but if he is coming now thats great. Some would say its only russian leauge ( i just got the Russian league via sat in the summer ) but from what ive seen from it there are many good players in that leauge. There are quite a few interesting players like D. Bilyaletdinov who is one of my favourites from the little ive seen. And what about Kazan, Noboa seems interesting. Imo Kerzhakov is a very good player aswell. Someone with knowledge of the russian premier leauge?

Ive seen comparisons here on other threads wtih United about atacking options, and yes they have far better atacking options then us, but so does Barca, Real Madrid, Bayern and pssibly Inter. But like Dorset said, any of these clubs would give anything to have 4 world class central defenders like we do. Not only that but these european top clubs would be happy to only have two world class central backs, none of them do. The only cb pairing worth mentioning is Vidic/Ferdinand and still far from our class in that departement. And even our central midfield with Lamps, Ballack, Essien and an impressive and constantly improving Mikel is a central midfield that other top clubs envy. Just look at uniteds central mids: Carick, Scholes Fletcher,Anderson. That said our atacking options is where we need improvement. You mentioned Kakuta, i would definately give him a run his speed and skill is Messilike from what ive seen from him. And if we do buy a top class winger or winger/striker which i think we should then i would much rather see Kalou or Malouda (maybe both) going and not Alex. If he goes that far and sell Ivanovic in order to bring an atacker then i really wonder about LFS.

The reason why we didnt manage a shot on goal until the 60th min is mostly cause we didnt even manage to get past that initial pres from them, so we kept passing it backwards instead of forwards. Having Malouda and Joe up there didnt exactly help once we did get the ball up the pitch. Actually i havent seen us this clueless going forward all season, but then again i havent really seen a Prem side playing as good against us so far, except for Utd maybe.

Some interesting stats, we got most succesfull passes overall to. Mikels passes r usually not that hard to make as he doesnt atempt to make more difficult passes. Maloudas unselfishness compensates for his inability to beat his man, and he does make good runs but his shooting is awfull.

I think im the only guy besides Brian on here that likes Zlatan, i to would like to see him here but the only problem i think is his work rate is close to 0. If he only got in better shape or at least try harder to defend then i wouldnt mind us having a go. Anyway wheres Brian M at? If i could pick one guy from Russia it would be Zhirkov, great work rate, good left foot, hard and accurate crossing, good tecnique. Only downside with him is his diving tendencies i seen in this euro which he shares with Ronaldo and Ballack, the difference is he does it much better, he tends to scream in order to make sure he gets a foul. Alot of players in the NBA use that floping technique and it seems to work pretty well for them. Vlade Divac is known for that amongst other seniors. If i was Abra i would try and get Zhirkov right now, Arshavin to assuming that Lampard goes. Bilyaletdinov is also a great player who i wouldnt mind here, he has great technique. Zyrianov is amongst the better Russians this euro, dont know how old he is though.

It is not that I oppose Manicini that much, but having Mihajlovic alongside him would make me think twice buying any CFC merch and being sooooooo passionate about our club! Sheva did play alongside Drogba in a 442, as i said he did exactly the same as Anelka does now, drifting wide. Sheva is a great scorer, so is Anelka but they have to get into the box in order to do that. Sheva should not get the ball when standing still, only when on the run geting behind the defence. Part of Shevas problems in Chelsea is not getting the passes he needs from our mf, at Milan he had Pirlo and Kaka delievering the perfect passes.

No it doesnt, it would have been a totaly diferent game if only one of those decisions had gone against them. If United had gone down to 10 men Wigan could have easily scored one and tied the game. If Wigan had got a penalty for Rio handball, same thing. Then surely our fans would been alot more enthusiastic and really believing we could snatch it, encouraging the players to do the same. On canalplus the comentator just seemed relieved Scholes didnt get sent of, after that he kept saying: Scholes must stay out of trouble now. After the game they didnt show any replays of the incidents instead whent directly to the Utd celebrations pics. Rios handball wasnt mentioned either.
