Posted May 12, 200916 yr Carlo Ancelotti's long-term future at AC Milan has been cast further into doubt after he was on the end of a tongue lashing from owner Silvio Berlusconi. The Rossoneri supremo blames Ancelotti, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea next season, directly for the club's failure to win this year's Scudetto ahead of rivals Inter Milan. Berlusconi feels the Ancelotti's tactics were poor as he believes their style of play does not suit the team's skilful playmakers, such as the likes of Kaka and Ronaldinho. Wrong tactics "We lost the title because of Ancelotti," he told La Repubblica. "Many times we did not use the right tactics. "We have so many good dribblers and should have based our football on this asset, but we did the opposite." Milan's vice-president Adriano Galliani is remaining tight-lipped on Berlusconi's surprising outburst, claiming only he will give his opinion at the end of the season. "I never comment, as a rule, on the declarations of president Berlusconi and I don't comment what is reported to me by the newspapers that I have not read," he told the club's official website. "I said and I repeat that I won't speak before May 31 on these things, or at least I won't speak before we have reached the direct qualification to the Champions League." SKYSPORTS Maybe there is more to the rumours and the knives are now coming out in preparation ?
May 12, 200916 yr take it from someone who has watched milan- berlusconi is wrong and an incredible idiot. to be only a few points of jose's inter given the difference in resources and squad strength shows he's done pretty well this season (and that jose hasn't done that well even though they'll retain the title).
May 12, 200916 yr unfortunately for us, that sounds like a pre-emptive strike from berlusconi. ancelotti may leave and this looks like a face saving exercise from berlusconi, a liitle bit like when you get dumped and say "didnt really like her anyway"
May 12, 200916 yr take it from someone who has watched milan- berlusconi is wrong and an incredible idiot. You don't need to watch Milan to know Berlusconi is an idiot. Just reading/watching the regular news will do. ;)

May 12, 200916 yr The more and more I hear about Berlusconi and Galliani, the less I like of them. G4 is absolutely right in that Ancelotti has done well to get that squad where it is. They have ridden the back of Pato, Inzaghi, Beckham and their midfield to where they are this year. Despite a fortune half of what Roman has, Berlusconi cheaps out during the summer and refuses to refurbish that old as dirt backline or freshen up that squad. Juve hasnt exactly made glamourous additions, but they have been functional for sure, and worked well in their team. In contrast, Milan seem content to add someone they dont really need like Ronaldinho, and then address weaknesses with players like Senderos I recall alot of Milan fans in the summer being pissed at getting Sheva back. Not because they were mad at him for leaving, but because they knew they needed a striker and management had made the cheapest buy possible. But I guess he sees no need to improve the squad when theyre making money All that said, I still would rather we didnt chase Ancelotti. Its kind of insulting that a playing and coaching legend for Milan is getting blasted like this after 3 CL finals and a league title Edited May 12, 200916 yr by TheWestwayWonder
May 13, 200916 yr I hope Ancelotti doesn't come to Chelsea but at the same time I have to say that Berlusconi should keep is big fat mouth shut. He should support his manager (Berlusconi is still a part of Milan, right?) and he has no reason to go out and trashtalk him in the press. It's like if Roman would say "Scolari isn't a good manager because he makes mistakes in so many games". That's just not right. It might be true, but it's not right to go public with it (even though we all know it). Also, even if I don't see Ancelotti as a great manager I would still bet everything I have that he's much more qualified to do the job at Milan than Berlusconi. No, Berlusconi shows once again what a complete knob he is.
May 13, 200916 yr rumour on bbc sport is if ancelotti comes then so does kaka and pirlo. now i think pirlo is an incredible player and its accepted that kaka is different class, so would if this happened would it make ancelottis appointment any less aceceptable?
May 13, 200916 yr Not Really. Can't really see Milan letting it happen and Pirlo is now 30 and I don't want us to go that route any more.

If Ancelotti does come, I hope he'll sign a winger and a striker at very least. Kaka could play alongside Lampard, but then what do we do with Deco, Ballack and Essien? I doubt any of them will leave (maybe Deco, but probably not). Pirlo is the same, he may be able to play furthur back in Mikel's role, but while his distribution is good from what I've seen of him, it would feel like playing Beletti in the defensive midfield position. In addition, Kaka would be too expensive...are we going to pay £100m for him? Pirlo is simply too old. There's nobody in the Milan team who I think would be a realistic target for us, instead I think we should give Ancelotti £40/500m and see what he, Arnesen and the rest of them can do with it. I wasn't aware of Berlusconi being such a tight-arse. I can see then why Milan haven't been able to break past Inter - their spending power and current squad just isn't strong enough. While I'm not a huge Ancelotti fan, I've been looking him up and to his credit he did oversee the signings of the likes of Seedorf, Kaka, Pato and Pirlo (how much he was involved with these signings I don't know)
May 13, 200916 yr On the other hand, I feel immediately endeared to any enemy of Berlusconi's. How come the Italians keep voting him into power :D But still, having a tiff with Berlusconi doesn't make him right for Chelsea.

May 13, 200916 yr If we get Pirlo, it might just be worth getting Ancelotti. I f**king love Pirlo; the guy is class, and he's probably the only other guy on the planet fit to fill Maka's boots. Distribution, composure, and arguably the best set piece taker in the world. If Mikel can learn from this guy...
May 13, 200916 yr This idea that if Ancelotti comes he will 'bring Kaka and Pirlo with him' is just so completely ridiculous I can't believe anyone would think it credible. How would that ever be possible, and why would Milan ever let it happen? They are the club's players, not Ancelotti's, so why would him leaving have any bearing on their futures? Unless someone is prepared to pay City prices for Kaka, I just don't see him ever leaving, so the idea of this being a 'sweetner' to help us stomach a rather uninspiring managerial appointment is very far fetched indeed.

Oh yeah, there's no chance in hell Kaka's gonna leave. But still, just to dream for a second that Pirlo might come... ^_____^
May 13, 200916 yr So what is exactly wrong with Ancellott?he has fantastic pedigree, was a very good player in an exeptional side, and he has won a bit as well?,and i have watched AC over the years, and apart from not being backed by his TiT of an owner, play good football. It's obviously another silly rumor that'll be replaced by another piece of news "from reliable sources close to the club/manager/player/owner/agent etc etc" tomorrow. Yet I wouldn't dismiss the possibility of Kaka leaving Milan this summer. As Man City bid in January proved, Milan are willing to sell him if the right offer comes along. If Florentino Perez wins the Real presidency I can certainly see him going after Kaka. Wouldn't mind the Brazilian at Chelsea either, in fact him and Pato are the only two players from their current squad I'd take.
