  1. And not the same position.
  2. Agreed. Should throw Palmer on the right wing, Nkunku at the 10, and let Guiu press his absolute balls off just to see what happens. At least give something a try, like you mentioned.
  3. If he had performed well then you wouldn’t be. Has had a couple decent games but in my opinion, he’s consistently one of our worst players on the pitch.
  4. Everybody hates this potential signing, so it’ll probably be a good one.
  5. Where’s that been reported?
  6. This one seems so forced to me. I would almost rather roll with what we have or go back in for Duran/someone similar to him.
  7. I think he is 100% coming here to be a sub, especially in the league. Will start some conf league and cup games but in my opinion those will be spot starts.
  8. I think that’s the business model now, though. Buy them cheap and flip them within a couple years for a nice profit. I don’t necessarily want Noni gone but he’s also probably the easiest one to sell. Good performances, very young, and don’t forget, his book value is quite low as he will have been amortized over the length of the long contract as it was before the limit to 5 year amortization was implemented. His book value is something around 4.5 million per year. If Newcastle want to offer £40m or more, I think he’s sold.
  9. My first thought when I saw the links was WTF. After sleeping on it, it’s not the worst thing. He’d be better as an impact sub than Noni or Sterling IMO. But we have to sell those 2 - let’s face it, we’re almost out of shirt numbers! Still have a starting attack of Jackson/new striker, Nkunku, Neto, and Palmer. Subs: Mudryk, Carney (hope he stays), KDH, Felix. Idk, I don’t think it’s all bad. It could even be good!
  10. Gosh, I don’t know about that.
  11. Get real. They better be ready to pay 250m.
  12. He tore us to pieces last season at the Bridge. Some smokescreen we’ve put up all summer “Chelsea feel they don’t need another left footed attacker” was all Romano was saying. And then we fork out £51m+ for a left footed winger. Be interesting to see how we incorporate all of these players. I’d bet there an unexpected departure coming.
  13. If it was anyone other than Ornstein who reported it, then I’d agree with you. He’s been absolutely spot on with his Chelsea reporting the last 2 years. I haven’t seen a lot of David but he does appear to be an ideal potential signing in regards to age, salary, upside, and ability. A nice combination of it all.
  14. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Badiashile is sold this summer. Think somewhere around £25m would get our book value back, and he’s probably worth more than that. Agree on Disasi. He’s not someone to be starting every game but he’s useful in the squad and he brings some emotion in a good way.
  15. Think this is a smart signing on a free. He’s a decent enough player. I’m not in the “omg we can’t sell our academy players ever” camp, so if Tosin comes in on a free, and Chalobah is sold for pure profit to help balance the books, that sounds good to me.
  16. He played our kid Casadei quite a lot, didn’t he?
  17. Think it’s more on Winstanley and Stewart, been reports that the ownership gave them control of the hire. If this doesn’t work out, heads should roll.
  18. We’ve done that with countless players already. Santos, Paez, Angelo, Casadei, etc He’s just a faceless twitter page reposting news that journos are reporting
  19. I think the appeal is in the fact that his release clause to non-Italian clubs is €12m. That’s peanuts in this market for a player of his caliber. He’s probably worth triple that, and even with our updated wage structure he would be in line for a nice pay bump. Think he slots in nicely as a backup to Nkunku and can also play as a winger.
  20. Nizaar lets his bias show through way too often, being a Man Utd fan. I think generally his info has been correct but for a few times. Law has clearly lost most of his sources through the ownership change. He has dropped several tiers in reliability in my opinion and is always just guessing/going on feeling. In the London is Blue podcasts, he’s constantly saying things like “I haven’t checked on that”, which you never used to hear from him. He’s out of touch like you said, and also out of connections and sources. If he’s saying Chelsea should stay away from Jackson then the opposite is more likely to be true.
  21. Seems like this could be the plan, let’s hope it happens
  22. That was my reaction too. Why is he anywhere near the team? Bound to score now.
  23. You mean like Man City?
  24. Article from Matt Law today talks quite a lot about players who will leave in the summer amid contract offers and mentions big decisions could be made over Chilwell in the coming months. Surely we would not sell him - this must mean a contract extension?
  25. How did Nkunku look in his appearance off the bench last night?
