And revenue is just as high with it. We spent over 200 million this season, the issue is we spent it on so many average players. What we should do is go out and buy a midfielder for a good sum of money, make that priority number 1 in the summer. I seriously cannot bare to go another season with Fabregas & Bakayoko playing next to Kante.

Honestly Scott, the past 3 summer windows have been garbage, the last time we had a good summer window was when we wrapped up Costa & Fabregas before the 2014 World Cup even started. We got them in and settled and they both had a brilliant season, we ended up winning the league by quite a distance. Now it's f**king ridiculous, we keep bidding, then bidding, then bidding, then going for plan C, while waiting until it's August to make a singing. Hopefully, we do what we did this World Cup what we did last World Cup, get some signings wrapped up early, June, July. Stop waiting until August while we've already kicked off the season.

I actually don't think letting Matic go was a mistake, but I think we should have gotten somebody better to replace him. But yeah you're right, however, we don't know exactly. Maybe he wanted Matic to stay and the board overruled it, maybe he didn't want half of the players he got, I can tell he didn't want Barkley.

I would love to know the ins and outs of this season, just so I can make a fair assessment but I really don't know. Has Conte been dealt a bad hand by the board? Or has Conte purely f**ked up and made bad mistakes? It's really hard to tell, at the end of the day he's had over 200 million to spend. But we can't be too sure if it was him who picked his targets or not.

Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend
Think you're suffering from a strong case of nostalgia there mate. Remember when United won it 3 years in a row while we had Drogba, Terry and Lampard in their primes? I remember when United were crawling with injuries in Jose's 3rd season and we still bottled it. Hazard has won a lot of silverware here and he has been responsible for so many victories at this club, if you think Lampard and Drogba never sulked I don't know what to say, Lampards behaviour under AVB was ridiculous actually. For a senior player he moaned like a 19-year-old because he started getting dropped despite putting in abysmal performances.

Alvaro Morata
Zaha's sh*t in the air though, he gets bullied a lot when he plays central, he does have those physical limitations even if he is fast. If we are after a striker we need one who runs away from the ball more than he does run deep for it. Martial would be a better fit than Zaha if we are looking for a striker.

Tiémoué Bakayoko
I thought he played well against Liverpool in the first half, but other than that people praise him for being average or sh*t. Like there are people on here that genuinely thought he had 3 good games before the Liverpool match. That's how you separate the morons from the people who know what they're talking about. And that's not even being rude, it's pretty simple, you clearly don't know much about the game, you've probably never played it or spent enough time watching it if you think Bakayoko has had any good games this year but the Liverpool one.

Tiémoué Bakayoko
It's alright though @didierforever rates his performance and he'll definitely become a great player next season.

It's funny how the board are now suddenly deciding not to be trigger happy. If this was before Mourinho he would have been sacked after the 4-1 loss to Watford. I'm currently sat on the fence but I can't help but feel we're giving leniency to the wrong person, I don't think I've ever been so unconfident for a cup final in all my life of supporting this club.

Alvaro Morata
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/10/30/alvaro-morata-dont-see-london-long-big-much-stress/ Yep, he said that while he was in good form, I think that's why everyone forgot about it because he was still banging goals in and playing well. That really got under my skin when he said that. Just like Victor Moses when he said it's his dream to play for Barcelona just after he signed for us, I haven't forgotten that. I think Martial is brilliant but Conte would alienate him just like Mourinho has.

Every source says Morata's fee was 60m pounds, you keep saying 70m to try and make it sound more than it is. Even if that's added bonuses you still conveniently forgot to add the bonuses on Emerson's transfer. If Emerson proves to be a good player he's a bargain, which I think he will he looks good so far. But nothing was guaranteed and I tried telling you that but you wouldn't listen, you just kept on insisting that he's a great player when he played like 1 cup game. And I'm not arguing against Emerson, I'm just pointing out the obvious fanboyism.
-
Alvaro Morata
If Morata wants to go where he knows he'll be a sub then that right there tells the story, he lacks balls and will never make it here. If he rejects Juve and wants to prove himself here I'll at least have some faith in him and give him his chance next season. But I don't think Morata can be blamed on anyone but Morata, he's been given his chance, it was a logical signing when Costa wanted to leave and Lukaku went to United.

A lot of the old guard on this forum complain about how bad it is here but for me, it's like a breath of fresh air. TalkChelsea makes this forum look like the Ritz when comparing behaviour. Much MUCH better forum, they deal with trolls a lot better.

I would say it's evenly split there, just as many want him gone then they do want him to stay in the later pages. "Get the f**k out AVB" from Naked Molerat. I just remember the nob heads like Henrique, Terminator X and that Justin_3d who were constantly negative and wanted every manager to go. In the AVB thread there was a lot of bashing from very early on when he started to lose a period of games.

I love how you keep upping the Morata price to suit a narrative, very subtle at hiding your agenda there. But you didn't even add Palmieri's bonuses to the transfer... There was no mention of money, you literally said "Nah he's a good signing" but..but he has barely pla.."GOOD SIGNING", I guess it's just a shame you didn't take a liking to Morata, otherwise you would probably be defending the living dying soul out of him now.
-
Alvaro Morata
If he wants to leave, let him leave. He said at the start of the season which was pretty alarming that he's not getting used to living in London and will probably find himself elsewhere. That right there annoyed me. Either way, all the people crossing their fingers hoping he leaves, who do you go for now? We are back to where we were in the first place. What if the next striker we sign doesn't have a good first season? Do well sell that player as well and lose out on a profit.

Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager
You said right there "No, Emerson is great, he's by far our best signing" when he barely played one game. That was my point, you're saying a player is great who has came from an untested league and has barely played a game yet, and when you dislike players you'll be very bias on your assessment of them, although not as bad as Will from the inbetweeners is, who thinks we should sell players if we can't find a replacement for them. It's like anything good Conte does, you can't give him credit for.

Argo I was literally on TalkChelsea when AVB signed and got sacked and I honestly can't remember anyone there supporting him, TalkChelsea was full of kids who got angry at the manager after a few bad defeats, at least with this forum I could believe people would want to give AVB time.
-
Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager
Probably because he knows he won't get such ridiculous undeserved game time anymore.

Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2017/2018
And Ozil, I thought he was mad when he signed the contract, but he's in his ideal world. He gets to play whenever he wants and gets paid a sh*t load for it. People go mad at our players taking holidays, you should see the state of Arsenal, Ozil literally has no injuries and he's not playing any games. That's a disgrace.
-
Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager
You did in the "rate our transfers" thread and you had Emerson highest who barely even played one game. What levels from Roma? He was injured all season before he came, last season he looked good but he was still massively unproven. He hasn't shown how good he is yet, he needs more time to be consistent, this is what I'm saying, you judge as if you know the answer because you like him as a player, complete fanboyism. He hasn't played enough games yet to solidify if he's a great LWB, he definitely looks the real deal so far. I didn't see you screaming for Conte to start with a back 4 before the game.

I don't think I saw one supporter who wanted AVB to stay.

Absolutely, he's contributed immensely to a lot of silverware since he came here.
