I actually agree with the Conte lineup except for Bakayoko, Michy not playing makes sense to me, he'll be better to bring on later.

Agree with this completely, but if Drinkwater is fit he has to play over Bakayoko, Baka should be nowhere near the team at the moment.

They have like 2 first team players in every single position that can rotate constantly. They definitely have better depth than we do, we have a lot of players but a lot are youngsters.

More United protection from Sky... They're playing awful yet somehow they're going to highlight the "progress" United are making.. Oh wow great I mean spending around 600 million in the past 3 years who would have thought? He even went on to go on about how they've vastly improved from the days of Van Gaal, what sort of bull sh*t is this honestly? Give Mourinho his slack like he got at Chelsea, he's failing miserably. I actually like Gary Neville by the way and he does have a point but for the love of god.

Got to admit, I love the United meltdown, loving it. http://www.redcafe.net/threads/mourinho-and-guardiola-post-match-press-conferences.434427/ Is this one taking the royal piss? SAF would give credit where it's due? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA f**k OFF

I take back what I said, give City the title, no way anyone is catching them now.

Lukaku is practically at fault for both of the goals.

Okay so we get Kyle Walker for 50 million, and then what? We are lumped with an average player who've we have just spent a huge sum on with high wages, we can legitimately only spend roughly 130 million more, in today's market that is another 2-3 good players at best.

This is something Arsene Wenger has said to Arsenal for the past 15 years and still says to Arsenal to this day. So I find this very depressing but I also see some truth too it. I’ve heard talks of a new stadium since 2010 and nothing has happened yet.

This is why FFP was never a great idea like so many claimed, it’s managed by the most corrupt beaurocrats in the world, FIFA. The Spanish clubs are bar stewards but they’re right, City & PSG have an unfair advantage and it’s clear as day. That M’bappe deal was incredibly shady and nothing has come of it.

I agree with you and I’ve written a lot about City & PSG corrupting FFP. But I won’t have that our billionaire owner isn’t rich enough, he is. Someone is making the technical decisions to not spend much every season, we can’t seem to capture our targets. CIty got two fullbacks we were after and like you said we got Zappacosta instead. Can we spend as much as City? No because of FFP, but we definitely have a budget to spend big every season and we’ve turned very hesitant in the market. I’m hoping that was Emenalo’s doing so it can end.

We’ll win, I’m expecting a good response after that abysmal performance yesterday.

West Ham Vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 9th Dec 2017 KO 12:30 GMT
Majority of people on this thread have summed it up, whenever we have a Champions League game midweek we are dreadful on the weekend. We can't make so many excuses for it because other teams don't seem to be suffering from it that much. But it's pretty damn evident that we are lacking depth, currently Alonso cannot be benched because we have no one to cover him, that was never a good idea. This game for me was the final nail in the coffin when it comes to the title challenge. I'm not saying City & United aren't going to drop points and we can't gain, but it's the lack of consistency with our team right now, whenever we play in two competitions a week you see the difference and it's really bad. Top 4 really isn't good enough to be aiming for and we shouldn't be happy with it, no reason why we shouldn't be up there with City after last season. I also agree with @Davey Baby we appear to lack the quality, United & City have upgraded and we need someone to play next to Hazard. Have we really upgraded? Really? Besides Morata I don't think we have, Bakayoko is not an upgrade on Matic (that's f**king depressing because Matic was diabolic), Christensen looks awesome but David Luiz was world class last season. I don't see how we've upgraded, we should have been in the market for another attacker, although hindsight helps.

In a slump? We can help.
It’s depressing because it’s true, I can’t believe we’ve lose to the worst two teams in the league.

West Ham Vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 9th Dec 2017 KO 12:30 GMT
Very depressing, we have to take advantage of the Manchester derby and we’ve failed to do that. Looks like we’ll be contending with Arsenal and Liverpool then, if our squad is getting this tired something is wrong.

Tiémoué Bakayoko
He’s never once shown he’s anywhere near as good as Patrick Viera or any likeliness.
-
Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend
We would be absolute mugs if we let Hazard go for less than 150 million, I'm not even joking either when you look at players like Dembele going for 150 million and Neymar going for 200. And then what's to stop us from blocking the transfer? Liverpool did it with Coutinho.

Liverpool were very underrated last season I thought, Klopp ridiculously overachieved with the squad he had. I think he's done an amazing job but with that being said they were getting hammered by teams not too long ago, they're still very vulnerable at the back and I think if they were ever at the top of the pecking order they would crumble with the pressure. But you're right about Hazard & Morata, I think we have a lack of depth. Pedro and Willian aren't consistent enough, Hazard needs someone better to play alongside with.
-
Tiémoué Bakayoko
He didn't say that, he said he was sad to see Matic go, completely different. If that's his assessment then why is Bakayoko having so many games when he's clearly not performing at his top level? Not doubting Conte but I doubt he's purely a development player.
-
Tiémoué Bakayoko
I think there will be a problem when people start overpraising him for simple things which is what I'm currently seeing, he's young & and has had an injury but we signed a player to fit in right now. If that wasn't the case then why didn't we just wait on Loftus Cheek? If we want him to be a passenger why did we get rid of Matic? Again I'm sorry to be horribly cliche here because it's not what we want to hear but sadly it's the truth, at the moment this guy doesn't look good enough for this level of football. It's not the fact that I'm writing him off too early, I'm just questioning the signing on the circumstances. We needed a player who would instantly fit into the side and start next to Kante, this one simply can't do that. We'll either have to wait until he develops or he might not get better at all, I definitely think we signed the wrong centre mid from Monaco.
-
Alvaro Morata
Yeah, he has really missed a lot of good chances here. When he was 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper I was never confident he was scoring that because I've seen him miss a lot of those chances before, Costa, however, was a lot sharper in front of goal. I must admit it was a good save from Oblak, he extended himself very quickly and it surprised Morata but he has to be aware of that, he has plenty of time to round & lob the keeper he has to utilise that better, putting it on the floor makes it easier for the keeper.
-
Tiémoué Bakayoko
I don't recall those moments, like I said we were very organised, even Fabregas was well positioned. Made a clumsy challenge on Koke from behind which wasn't necessary, he made about 2 good tackles in the first half and gave the ball away a few times. I wouldn't count it as a standout performance, if we are praising him for this level of football then something is wrong. Still in no way warrants a game over Drinkwater.
-
Tiémoué Bakayoko
What do you count as a very good first half? I would say his positioning was good but he also gave the ball away, not a huge improvement, the whole team was organised. If that's what we are counting as a very good half then we shouldn't have given Matic away. Out of the 3 man midfield he had the lowest pass completion and Fabregas was consistently playing the ball forward. https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1238336/Live/Europe-UEFA-Champions-League-2017-2018-Chelsea-Atletico-Madrid
