  1. The market dictates the price. Agreed - he shouldn't be £70M - just as Butland shouldn't be anywhere near £30M. City 'only' paid around €40M for Ederson last summer - and to be fair he's the second choice behind Alisson for Brazil - but still. I'd say that they're pretty much at the same level - given what I've seen. However I think we should give Alisson the benefit of a doubt. As Robert Negrisolo said: "I don't think many people have realised who Alisson is. The guy is a phenomenon. He's the number one of number ones. He is the Messi of Goalkeepers." Furthermore, if we're looking at the higest save percentage in the big five leagues last season, Alisson was in 4th highest with 79.7 % - only beaten be De Gea, Ter Stegen and Oblak. Not saying he's definately worth the money - but there is a pretty clear cut reason that he's priced at the value he is. If we can get around £60M for Courtois, I'll take it any day of the week.
  2. Yeah, scary isn't it... Don't see him as a wingback, but you're right. A clear downgrade from Willian. He's having dificulties breaking into the starting lineup for Lazio, as you mentioned. However that may be due to the current formation they're playing. Often the play completely without wingers, meaning F. Andersen has to compete for either af CAM or CM role. Definately not his prefered positions. If he's available for around £20-30M I think we should give him the benefit of a duoubt. That's around half the amount that Willian will go for.
  3. Sky are reporting that Chelsea has joined West Ham in the race for Felipe Anderson. Personally I believe he'd be a decent addition if the price is as low as the rumours. This could mean that Willian is expected to leave for around £60M.
  4. Torreira does indeed look good. Schmeichel and Simon Kjaer has been brilliant for Denmark. By far their top performers.
  5. I doubt we'll get more than £20-25M for Drinkwater. He hasn't being playing for a long period + and to be fair it's not as if his performances has been amazing. But if we manage to close Golovin for £22M, as Sky Italy are reporting, I'll happily settle for £20M for Drinkwater.

Sky are reporting that Sarri would have the possibility of activating his buy-out clause (or simply terminate his contract) after July 1, when Ancelotti is presented as the ned Napoli manager. However, that would probably lead to Napoli appealing to FIFA, should he sign for Chelsea afterwards. This could, according to rumours, cause a fine for both the club and Sarri, which combined would be significantly lower than the reported fee Napoli demands for releasing him before (and after) July 1. The big questionmark here is Conte. The club are set to be negotiationg with Conte over a release. Conte's party is set to be ready for a mutural termination of the contract, but seems firm on their demand of him recieving a full payout for the value of his contract's final year. Chelsea are reportedly ready to pay about the half of that amount. In short, the Conte situation needs to be resolved ASAP!
  7. Spot on! While I do see a future world class player in RLC, he needs to work harder and clarify his role on the pitch - and for the team. He can be so lovely to watch offensively! He just needs the ambition to track back and lead the first - or second - line of pressure off the ball at times. As I wrote on the RLC-forum, I genuinely believe that he has the potential to suit a role of a Pogba/Milinkovic-Savic kind of player. He has great technique and physique, which means it often comes down to his tactical awareness and approach, along with his will to put his heart upon his sleeve for the club.
  8. Exactly. Furthermore Golovin seems to do a lot of hard work defensively. Could turn up as a great addition for the wider central positions. According to Sky it's around €25M. In todays market that could turn out to be an absolute bargain.
  9. Nibs - I agree. Though I did see one game, where he really was lighting up and dominating in a U-21's game against Denmark. He bossed the field where power, pace and intelligence. So joyful to watch. I really rate RLC. I truly believe that he has the potential to become world class. He sort of reminds me of players like Milinkovic-Savic and Pogba - however, he will need to take the next step soon.
  10. I agree. Haven't been following the Russian League that much - but Golovins statistics are decent. It'll be interesting to see how much we can get for a player like Drinkwater, if we decide to sell him. Doubt we'll get anywhere near as much as we paid a year ago.
  11. Doubt that we'll go for Jorginho. He'd be at great addition though. Sarri will likely play a 4-3-3 formation with one attacking minded midfielder. This role could suit both RLC, Cesc and Golovin, while the to wide positions would be ideal for Bakayoko, Kante and possibly Seri, if we manage to snap him up. Golovin would be interesting IMO as he's got a defensive focus to his game as well, meaning he could play all over the midfield. Same could arguably be said about RLC due to his brilliant physiqu. There's definately a huge potential in our midfield options this season. With players like Mason Mount, Pasalic and Van Ginkel coming back from loan, it would also be fair to give them a chance in the pre-season. Kenedy could turn out to be a great backup for Willian and with Hudson-Odoi as a step-in for Hazard on the left side, I can't see the major need for another winger.
