Lol we've only managed to score 1 goal against them in 3 matches so far this season. An aggregate of 8-1 I believe. We seem to play well against the likes of Liverpool but totally clueless when it comes to united.

We aren't beating Liverpool and Wolves with this type of performance. Dreadful. I think some of these players know they won't be here next season and simply dont care. Zero intensity knowing whats at stake.

Wolves are now 5 points behind us with that win. Would not be surprised at all if they beat us to 5th in the scenario of us losing to liverpool and them last game.

We're in for a battering vs United unless something drastically changes in the space of 7 days This is why I wanted the season to be voided. Had a feeling would lose out on top 4 during lockdown. We can still do it winning the last 3 games if they're not motivated enough for the remaining games then they dont deserve to be here next season. Pedestrian footy today

What about in the case of Klopp/Liverpool who were gash at defending before they signed Van Djik? I genuinely think our defenders are brain dead in the same manner Lovren was for Liverpool until he got replaced.

His distribution is weaker than Kepa but he is better in every other category. Strong wrists and commanding in the box. 2 inches taller too.

No way is Conte selling Skriniar to us. Havertz + LB + one of CB/GK (maybe both) is what I'm expecting this window.

I'm curious as to how Lampard intends to use Havertz. He has been most effective this season as a false 9/CF and RW. He is most effective when deployed at advanced positions (CAM/RW/CF). Could we possibly see him and Ziyech interchanging between RW and the number 8 position? We've seen Frank do that with Willian/Pulisic swapping positions vs Palace. Havertz could even interchange with Werner up top, no clue. He is so versatile he can basically play 3 different positions. If he was to play as a CF then Werner would be used out wide on the left but then where would Pulisic fit in to the picture? Finding a formation to best accommodate all 4 of these players is the trick.

With Cech at the helm I'm confident on us finding a quality replacement for Kepa. I don't see him being at long term.

Yeah I mentioned this in the reply above. The wide gap between midfield and defence has nothing to do with Abraham though we've seen this countless times this season. It's not just Jorginho its like these players lose focus/concentration and start ball watching. My main gripe with Jorgi in particular is he has no recovery pace. A good player with significant limitations for where he plays.

That's what I'm referring to he left a massive gap between midfield and the backline coupled with his non-existent recovery pace. We've conceded countless goals because of this

If you look back at Benteke's chance in stoppage time Jorginho's positioning was terrible and shares part of the blame alongside Christensen. If it wasn't for Zouma's last ditch tackle I bet you ppl would be slagging Jorginho off for that goal. His defensive liabilities have been prevalent throughout the season he gets done for pace and has no legs. He did a good job today bringing control to the game for the last 10 minutes so I'm not taking that away from him. It's just that the defensive side of his game isn't at the level we need.

No doubt ppl will come here and say he changed the game..... for 5 minutes yeah. We were dominated again in stoppage time and nearly conceded. but he did restore some semblance of balance just not going to overblow his impact. certainly did better than gilmour though.

yeah and klopp suddenly became a great defensive coach in the span of 3 seasons? or maybe it was because van djik came in and things improved. before then liverpool's defense was a joke we need new defenders plain and simple

Yh I'm hoping that's to more due to Leicester as a whole being poor. Certainly a slight worry though.

I'm not completely sold on him tbh but I see him joining us in the summer if we're going for a CB. Other CB options seem unrealistic and in the case of Skriniar, impossible. Personally I'd prefer that Leicester lad Soyuncu but we haven't been linked him with him.

Hope Lamps sticks with the same back 4. He's done well so far but if there is one thing I am critical of is the constant tweaking of the back 4. Our defenders are sub-par to begin with but constantly tweaking their lineup doesn't help with cohesion or allow a longer term partnerships to develop. I think the Watford lineup was spot on even though I don't trust Christensen fully, as long as it means Alonso and Rudiger are nowhere near the 1st team it's fine for now.

Not one to be reactionary but with the current predicament of Kante/Kovacic being out and Jorginho not having played a single minute since the restart, if Gilmour is given the nod to start today I'm afraid Lampard may very well intend moving him on in the summer

This seems to be gaining some traction. Out of all the CBs linked to us recently Rice seems to be the most concrete link so far. Barkley is an odd player to say the least. He never seems to put in an all round brilliant performance. He will score or assist and then go on to mess up a counter attack or misplace easy passes thus breaking down our play. In the end his performances turn out to be average with the good and bad cancelling each other out. Simply not good enough to be a regular in the 1st team if we want to challenge for the title. With Mount and RLC we should be fine for depth in midfield. This is taking into account the possible arrival of Havertz
