  1. The only thing that calms me down a bit with this lineup, is cucu, caicedo and Palmer. I really do admire and agree with what he's doing so he can integrate some of the pl team to play in the knockouts. But this is definitely not good for my heart. Just wish a few more from the PL team to be in the line up.
  2. Yeah, it's on prime, watching it now. Check under sports. Mine was on the homepage.
  3. Wtf did I say!!! Now I'm laying kittens until the final whistle ffs. Pls pls pls let this be easy on my heart!
  4. my gut is fkn with me Palmer or nkunku @14 or 16. Fk it... Southampton 0 Chelsea 3 Felix 15 Lol
  5. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c4gpz2924z0o I had to Google hobby horse competition! Wtf! Kids and adults, and for some weird reason I find it very disturbing! Like nails on a chalkboard type feeling. It's fkn global too! Anyway...we haven't got any forfeits here right? Because tbh, I forget fpl even exists most weeks.
  6. 'Now I understand why Jose got angry' - Essien on life as a coach https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cev9rrdrd14o
  7. Southampton trio Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Flynn Downes and Tyler Dibling all serve a one-match ban on Wednesday for accumulating five bookings this season. Loanee Lesley Ugochukwu is ineligible to face his parent club but Jan Bednarek returns after missing the last two games, while Paul Onuachu could also be fit. The question is will Maresca play the Cup team or mix it up, and play a few from here and there. It's matchday and even after a few days of thinking about this, I still have this feeling it will be mostly the cup team. Regardless...looking forward to this. KTBFFH
  8. P.s. I don't mind the tally btw...keep it as is dude, it helps the forum.
  9. You're including the one he did the splits for when intercepting the martinez pass! Maybe a small boy could score it but not anyone past puberty. Lol Also at least his 1 on 1 was harder than nkunku's, wacko had 3 defenders and the gk around him. That's 3 more than nkunku. Delusional mate, like I said before, your hatred for jacko is blinding you bud.
  10. Lol I think i changed my first scorer from jacko only once but turned out wrong anyway. I knew it wasn't one of our forwards but no way did I imagine it was going to be caicedo!
  11. I just remembered that Maresca can only add 5 players to the ecl squad as "list B". Some clever managing of game time will be needed once knockouts start. I wonder which 5 he will pick! Good question for our ECL thread.
  12. I would be the first to admit there is no way I'm jumping to block that with my face!!! Call me a wuss, mehhh dont care, I'll opt to keep the skin on my face pls!
  13. Personally I'd take isak off that list.I'd take jacko over him any day. The other 2 I have no idea about, sry. It'd be a risk with no PL experience but other than that, complete unknowns to me, I've never seen them play.
  14. I said something along those lines. "If we don't get top 4 then he'll be the reason why" But I'm soo happy with his performance today. Only 1 iffy bit but some great saves. If he continues like this then I'll even retract that we need a gk in the transfer window. Jorgensen is coming along nicely too going by his last game. Improvements all round.
  15. That never made sense to me either..who says no to help from a specialist to relieve pressure. It came across as insecurity but I have no idea what the real reason for saying no was. I agree bud, i think it's a bit of both. Yes he may have been rigid with your lot but I sort of understand why, as you mention above its the quality of players he had at his disposal. I actually like him even more now because of all that, let's be honest, if kdh was the best in your squad last season then I think Maresca did absolutely brilliantly last season. I don't mean any disrespect whatsoever mate. He knew he had to be pragmatic to get you guys over the line. He used all the tools he could in the best way he could and hit his target. He now has a whole bunch of really talented and versatile kids to use and we can see him open up with new ideas and tactics. I can also imagine if we lose half our squad he may park the bus in every game just to hit the target of top 4-5. (If that is his target). I know I'm a minority in that regard, even during Jose's period of lots of 1-0s, it seemed I was one of the very few that was happy as long as we were climbing the table. I'm not a fan of the Van Man, sry, you're on your own there mate. 😆 Good luck.
  16. I loved all the celebrations. Even wacko manhandling Enzo...hahaha I remember another Cole goal in a different game and Cole saying afterwards he ran towards the bench but when he saw them all coming towards him he ran the other way. This time noni caught upto him and cradled him in the end like a baby. 🤣 Love it.
  17. I think jacko did really well and was constantly pressing high up. You can see he was getting tired from all that and maresca made the right call to sub him then. But until he started to get tired I was very happy with wacko (all our lot played well tbh). As I posted in the other thread...tons of positives in that game but what fills me with hope is that all the negatives/iffy stuff in that game were things that can be put down to inexperience. That includes wako, lavia, Enzo, etc...the mistakes/negatives today can all be sorted with practice/training and/or experience. Surely that's a very good sign that the kids are doing well. 🤣 🤣 🤣, he tried so hard to intercept it, I thought he was going to do the splits. No way he could have taken a shot in that split second too while off balance. In hindsight, easier to fall down and pass it to a team mate but no one in blue next to him unfortunately, that's something they will learn with time I guess. It's all part of the learning curve... 100% agreed. Also as above...and I'll add I'm also very happy with maresca too. 100% He at times isn't mark-able (that a word?) The cbs don't know if they should follow him deep or get dragged to the left. He's giving them a lot to think about.
  18. I'm with you on this...Great time to start switching some players around slowly as its not long before knockouts in the ECL too, as well as important PL games starting with spuds next weekend obviously.
  19. Agree with everyone on here. All our lot did brilliant today with caicedo and Cucurella for motm. Can't separate them, both immense today. Will go caicedo to even the scores out above. Both deserve it tbh.
  20. why stick to one team and tactic? I love that Maresca is addressing each opponent differently. The next team we play may need us to switch to 2x 10s? I don't know. But that's what I really love about Maresca. Tactics and game play can't/shouldn't be fixed. All depends on who we are facing. Yep, im with you too, some great positives in this game, I loved it. But dissecting the negatives and stuff we did poorly it can all be marked down as inexperience from a young team and tbh that doesn't actually upset me. I don't mind them making mistakes in a way, as long as they learn from them and they don't cost us dearly. But i think it's part of our game atm as they gain that experience and consistency. Soon we will be up there with those 3, just not this season, but definitely on the right track atm. @nonotnowjim stop creating more user accounts, lol
  21. Lol, I'm happy for the guy. His learning curve, not only the players, but his managerial curve is massive too. He will get some wrong but I loved the setup against villa today. He's not afraid to try something new or take risks. 100% The media can only push the rubbish about "players are unhappy due to lack of game time" bit atm, he and the team have shut them up on everything else so far. I really like him, every week I'm hoping more and more he becomes our proper long term manager. He's tactical like pep but also gives the kids a freedom pep doesn't give. I love the fact that each opponent is approached differently too. Imagine in a few years this team seamlessly playing in and out of different formations in a single game. Ooooh. Pep-light nickname doesn't fit. Maybe just looks. We need a proper nickname for him.
  22. Wingbacks? Can't be right? Very interesting...
