Our best midfield...
The fact that we talk down a lot of our top players is a sign that we're not arrogant when it comes to our teams. The Greatest Fans In The World however, are a different story all together.

Do you include Jesper Gronkjaer in that statement?

Our best midfield...
I personally don't think Senna is that good anyway. He was good at the Euro's, but that's the first time I'd ever heard of him. If he was truly that good, I'd've probably heard of him. Essien, Best Midfielder In The World? Not quite. But he has the potential to be. And plus he's 26, he has plenty of years left in him to become the best, hopefully all of them will be completed at Chelsea

Did anyone catch Eduardo's goal against Burnley at the weekend? One of the best volleys I've ever seen, quite frankly.

There's a riff about half way through Tie My Rope - Children Of Bodom that's pretty awesome... And Whiskey In The Jar is right up there with the best. And Money - Pink Floyd.

Our best midfield...
Now we have Essien back, it gives Hiddink a very interesting choice at midfield. Who does he pick? Lampard, Essien, Mikel, Deco, Ballack? Which two does he drop? Now, Lampard and Essien are certainties I think, as they, along with JT, Cech and Drogba (on his day), are the soul of our First 11. Now to choose the 3rd and final spot. Mikel, Ballack, Deco. Ballack and Deco play in the same role (attacking midfield), but have different styles. Ballack is the power, Deco is the creativity. Now you could argue that if we were to pick Deco, we would lose his presence on the field. If we were to pick Ballack, we wouldn't have as much of a creative midfield. Now Mikel is a weird one. Mikel has now solidified himself as a Holding Midfielder. His strength, passing and defending have got him that role, a la Makelele. But do we really need a holding midfielder? We have a strong defence as it is, and Essien can defend as well as anyone. Mikel has no attacking ability whatsoever, but he has been a very important player for us this season. Now what if we go a different route and change our formation? To a, say, 4-2-2-2? With Lampard and Essien as the first 2, Kalou and Quaresma as the second 2, Drogba and Anelka as the third 2. It's a tough choice. But this season, unless Hiddink signs a permanent contract, I can see us sticking with a 3 man midfield. But what would it be?

But now with Essien back, it gives Huddink the nice problem of being a manager. Choosing a midfield. Now for me, Lampard and Essien MUST be in the team, simple as that. But who does he pick as the third? Mikel or Ballack?

FA Cup Semi Final, Arsenal vs Chelsea, 18/04/09, 17:15 BST
We were never going to get Everton, let's face it. Man U or Arsenal were a certainty. Will be a great game though! If this game is a draw, will it be replayed? If so, will it be held at Wembley again? See that's why I don't like how the Semi's are played at Wembley. The whole point of the FA Cup (like the Carling Cup) is to build up to Wembley, but you can get to Wembley by just reaching the Semi's now. It doesn't make sense!

Correct score poll/bet vs Juve (away)
I wouldn't. Ahaha I love penalties when Chelsea arn't involved, but when Chelsea are it's excruciating.

Correct score poll/bet vs Juve (away)
Have a feeling it's going to be a stalemate, with us trying to protect our 1-0 advantage and them wanting to attack us, but will be worried about conceding so will be a little lacking. 0-0.

I'd like to see something similar too, actually. Along the lines of: ...................................Cech ...Bosingwa.........Alex..............Terry.........A.Cole .....................Essien...................Mikel ...Kalou......................Lampard..............Malouda ...................................Drogba Yes? EDIT: Stoch would obviously be the better option to Malouda, but this me thinking realisticly.

The Bison is back!
I personally hope it is Mikel that loses his place, cause Essien offers so much more than him in every aspect. Essien is stronger, quicker, more intelligent and a better passer. Also, what's wrong with having a 3 man midfield with no holding midfielder? Essien will be the more defensive minded player of the 3, but he'll be playing the pure and simple CM, rather than the DM, with Lampard and Ballack as the CAM's. That's what I'd do, anyway.

MOTM vs Coventry
Went for Drogba, purely because he scored a wonderful goal and caused havoc all afternoon, like he used to do! Must give JT and Alex a pat on the back, too. Both solid all game, and Alex's finish was superb :) EDIT: And, when Essien came on, he played very well. Looked comfortable on the ball, and didn't put a foot wrong in his half an hour! :D

Bruce Buck: Squad overhaul in the summer
Hopefully in the summer, we won't splash out, per say, but we will bring in some top young players. We need: A left back - Zhirkov? A winger - Ribery? A striker - Benzema? But before we get these 3, we'll need to get rid of some people. I hope to see us getting rid of: Malouda - £6million. Alex - £9million. Deco - £4million. Ballack - £4million. That only gives us £23 million, which will probably only get us one, maybe two, of those 3 players, but I'm sure Roman can fork out some sort of money to finance the others. Pleeeeeeeeeease!

Isn't Mancienne a little young to go out clubbing? :(

It sorts the left back issue in the short term. What about long term? I.e. until we can buy Zhirkov? :(
