Was sacking Tuchel for Potter a good decision?
At this point last season we were where they are right now. So if Arsenal are challenging right now, then we were for the first half of last season. I am all for building for the future. But you better have the right man in charge then and I think many fear Potter isn't. Arteta may or may not succeed at Arsenal but he learned from the best in the business. Potter I would compare to Solskjaer who had three whole years at United and took them nowhere except backwards.

An Arsenal side that have won nothing at all should not be the measuring stick with all due respect. Go back five months and you'd be laughed out of the country if you claimed we should aspire to be like Arsenal. What Tuchel achieved or even what Lampard achieved in his first season should be the actual measuring stick. They both had to deal with difficult circumstances as well and delivered when it mattered. Both achieved Top 4 in their first seasons despite squads that were lacking and one achieved the biggest title of them all on top of it. I would strongly disagree with anyone suggesting Potter should have a free shot for a whole year. Maybe you get that at clubs who's won nothing for 20 years like Arsenal or Brighton. Not here. Because we know what we are and we are better than Arsenal despite Potter claiming we aren't anymore yesterday.

I'll be anything you like babe. Now worry less about that and worry more about your Jorginho loving managerial pick 😂 It took about two seconds to identify that it actually hurts you that.

Thanks for the reply first of all jim. Don't have time to answer the whole thing now but i don't think anyone are expecting us to be on City or Liverpools usual level. It's just that we have been outplayed by pretty much every team in the league since the new coach came in. That includes teams in the relegation zone and teams that are mid-table and a better team like Arsenal.

Mason Mount
Would get dogs abuse if he wasn't an academy lad. Reputation of a top player but he isn't.

I f**king am though! It's a disgrace what we are seeing. For the last two months i think we have been as poor as we have ever been for the last 20 years at least. No passion, no energy and no nothing expect a manager who's keeping busy praising Arsenal and how they are such a great team. Being coached by someone who does that is pissing me off to no end. Just last week it was Brighton that was such a classy team when they trashed us.

Didn't i already tell you i lurked for a while? My general sense was that 95% of the forum supported Tuchel but that two or three were dead set against Tuchel so not that hard to remember who that was. With you i'm actually not sure where you stood but perhaps you could enlighten me?

Weren't you one of those who wanted Tuchel sacked because he should get more out of these players?

We have also been a genuine disaster since he came in. No new manager at the club have ever looked this bad to start his tenure. And God knows we have had many managers who had to deal with lacking squad. Including the one we recently sacked. We are usually a pretty patient fanbase but there is a smell of incompetence from Potter in my opinion. And I think many are sniffing that out. Been here two months and we had literally had one decent game in the league and we are now on one of those long winless streaks the man was known for at Brighton. He's now brought that over to this club. Worst part is that we play with no energy and the manager seem to be clueless to how he wants us to play. And that's whats worrying me the most. He quite simply looks way out of his depth. Journos, pundits and supporters all bring up the fact that the players don't know what they are doing out there. And it's quite obvious that they don't and that's entirely down to the manager.

He was not in charge of his first transfer window, Marina was. The second one maybe but then why did he never get a real chance to prove he can do it with the players he brought in? He didn't even have all his signings available before the idiot from the states sacked him. The signings looked good as long as Tuchel was here. Potter is just a fraud that can't get anything out of anyone.

So you would not have sacked Villas Boas back then? Or Lampard back in 2021? We literally would not be Champions League winners right now if we didn't make those moves. Pep and Klopp have pedigree and they came in and set the standard right away. It didn't always work out because they didn't have the right players yet. Klopp especially had a bunch of dross when he took over with Borini, Lambert and Balotelli leading the line - not European Champions like Potter have. Potter have no idea. No obvious way we want to play, no obvious way we want to defend and one thing that is obvious is that the players are losing faith in him sharply. Gallagher said after Brighton the players couldn't get motivated, Potter said essentially the same thing today. He's lost the players and he's already heading towards the exit. What actually worries me is that Boehly is stubborn and won't admit he's made a mistake.- Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager
No he doesn't. Backed and supported it's earned. Did Villas Boas deserve more backing? Did Scolari? Or did Nuno at Tottenham? They become a different side completely under Conte. We have seen that time and time at this club as well, if the manager isn't working out we make the change. Which is why we are 2x European Champions incidentally. Would never had happened if we didn't make the managerial change.- Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager
We "huffed and puffed" so it was alright. And Arsenal are a top team and we aren't (basically what he implied). f**king deer in highlights. And disrespecting the club as well even though he probably doesn't realize it. We were a far better side than Arsenal last year, it's your fault we f**king aren't now Graham.

Ok but that doesn't matter now does it? This isn't about Tuchel getting the sack or not. It's about our current manager and he's filling no one with confidence. Including the players. Wolves and Villa have just gone and hired Loptegui and Emery, both are far superior managers to Potter with better CVs and better everything. Why is Potter here is my question? - Graham Potter (Now Sacked ) - *Official* New (Now Old) Chelsea Manager
