Great post. According to fable Tommy Doc thought he was getting too big for his boots and undermining his authority. Ron Harris had a problem with him-,he was the de facto head honcho who decided where the lads were going for a drink etc ( when he f**ked off to Spurs Chopper remarked I can’t see Dave Mackay and Co being ordered around by this upstart)….Can’t remember where I learnt this stuff- possibly Ossies book with Martin King. The following Boxing Day Speedie had a blinder. Terry Venables after said he was the finest timer of a header he’d seen for many years. Something which I remember from this forum years back- which would definitely fall into the weird category- was gaining entry to Loftus Rd via a pole ladder over a wall!

I remember that movement however was a good while before - mid 70’s- used to see slogans painted in white emulsion surviving well into the 80’s East End way mostly. Interesting story, he probably was innocent of that charge but shortly after release got nicked again for another blag which blotted his copybook.
