Portsmouth At Home
i'd go with; Cech Ivanovic Terry Carvalho Cole Mikel Essien Wright-Phillips Deco Cole Anelka Ivanovic over Ferreira as he's better attacking, i don't see Lampard being effective in a holding role, and i'd include SWP if Hreiderrson plays as he lacks pace. i think Scolari will go with; Cech Ferriera Terry Carvalho Cole Deco Essien Cole Lampard Malouda Anelka Ferreria as he's better known to Scolari, Malouda as he's (for whatever reason) more 'rated' than SWP

Sahar To Join Pompey On Loan
he's still only 18 has had injury troubles, and behind crouch, defoe and kanu he isnt going to get a lot of games. I don't think this needs to be his last loan before breaking into the first team. If he shows some promise coming off the bench, in cup games and so on then i think next year loan him out to a club (boro, WBA etc.) wheres hes going to start a majority of games if fit then we will have a real gauge as to whether he is good enough.

A Striker,
I'm a little bored about people mentioning Kezman as a reason why we shouldn't sign players from the Dutch league. There have been plenty of players that have come to the Premiership or moved to other big leagues from the Dutch league and have managed to do well over the years. I mean, with the same logic I could say that we shouldn't sign Villa because there are similarities with Morientes. my point is that the eredivisie is a substandard league, and therefore represents more of a risk if we spent big money on him. not in anyway denying holland has produced great players, or that huntelaar may go on himself to be world class, just that he hasn't played much champions league football and only has a handful of international caps so therefore im sceptical as to his real talents

A Striker,
Danni Alves, Zambrotta, Ramos, Puyol, Gallas, Maicon, Lahm, Sagna? what i meant was how many of them would we be in with a chance of signing? alves - lot more likely than last summer. should be top of the list. zambrotta - seems to have agreed a deal with milan so no. ramos - heard he is valued at £50million. way too much for a rightback. puyol - doubt barca would ever sell him, doubt he would want to leave either. gallas - left partly because he was being played out of position wouldnt come back to do that again. maicon - possibility, havent seen him play that often so cant give an opinion. lahm - linked with united, possibility though but isnt he better at left back? sagna - i know they are a selling club but cant see them doing it.

A Striker,
its difficult if drogba leaves who i can see replacing him, villa is class but you can never be sure how players are going to adjust. huntelaar's name is always in the gossip columns, but coming from holland to chelsea there are similarities with a certain mateja kezman who scored ridiculous amounts of goals in the eredivisie also. kenwyne jones is the only player i can think of in a similar mould to didier but i dont think hes good enough for a championsleague club and he wouldnt get the goals. i think anelka can be the main man, ive been very impressed with everything about him except his goals, but i think an extended run in the team would bring them. of almost as big a concern to me would be to get a genuinely world class right back, although im at pains to name any.

A Mega Bid For Messi?!
Are you serious? Referees giving protection in La Liga? A big reason as to why there is so much diving and simulation there is because fouls are so often just waved on or missed by Spanish referees and players simulate and exaggerate fouls to try and get a decision. In the EPL most games are very stop-start. It's a marketing myth that the 'typical' EPL game is end-to-end when in reality such a game happens at most once a round. Besides Messi isn't a player who looks to draw fouls. He is much more in the business of beating players with skill and speed instead of trying to force a foul from them. However you are right about the cheating. He hasn't done it this season- you are thinking of Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero, but he did do it last season, clearly using his hand while 'heading' home off a cross. you probably watch more la liga than me, but of the 10-15 games i've watched this season it seems that the refs are very easily conned by the amateur dramatics club! messi isnt the biggest culprit for sure but i think (hypothetically) when he does get bundled off the ball fairly by whoever and goes down like a tonne of bricks, English referees wont fall for it as easily. But to be fair they are conned by drogba week in, week out so i'm probably wrong! and you dont need to tell me the league is all marketing and hype, my favourite being 'Grand Slam Sunday' and blatant defensive 4-5-1 formations that are 'attacking 4-3-3'. its bollocks.

A Mega Bid For Messi?!
messi is an immense player, but would be poor in the premiership, he wouldnt recieve the kind of protection he is used to from referees in la liga or the champions league. and he is a bigger cheat than ronaldo, think the hand of god was a blatant hand ball, messi's done it twice this season alone.

New Home Shirt.....
not a fan, like the bit of gold/yellow trim, reminds me of the autoglass years

Joe Cole
as people have said he's tired from playing more games than anybody else this season, I also think his performances earlier in the season have made opposing managers take more notice of him, such as fergie needing a draw, playing silvestre who is nowhere near the player evra is overall as a left back but is a better defender. i think in recent weeks he's been marked out of games but a rest is well needed.

Essien player of the year
true, i did go a bit over the top, and i know injuries etc. affect it but i mean his general play has been a lot worse than it has been the last couple of season as has his goalscoring

Essien player of the year
for me got to be Carvalho, has been consistently putting in top class performances for most of the season. Terry has been pretty poor this year by his standards but i think it has been covered by Carvalho being so good. I think the mistake v united was the only one i can really remember. Ballack second, by a decent margin has ran things lately, big player in crucial games, sscores big goals and when he plays well the team plays well. instead of long balls to drogba which for me are next to useless. Frank has been pretty useless all season. If you'd have asked me 6 weeks ago would have been Joe Cole by a country mile but hes been so so so poor lately when it has really mattered. essien is on the other end of the scale to cole, haiving been rubbish all seasonbut really stepping it up lately and playing out of his skin. Have to get this is in, Malouda is one of the all time sh*t chelsea players

Why do you support The Blues?
Grandad was born in Clapham Common, went before the war, then moved out to Essex and my Dad went games throughout the 60s and 70s. Forced it upon me, hated him for it as all my mates were west ham and arsenal and they were better than us! First season i proper got into it we finished 13th. First game i went to was at home v Southampton 1997, 1-0, Zola.
