or two, perhaps?

There have been clear messages from players (Anelka) and the Manager that we are likely to switch to a 4-4-2 next season.

Our current options are:

Drogba-Anelka-Sheva-Pizzaro

For sure, Anelka Stays.

Maybe, Drogba stays.

Most likely, Sheva leaves?

For sure, Pizzaro leaves?

Who do you 'think' will stay? Leave? Arrive?

A 4-4-2 with Drogba and Anelka upfront would be happy0034.gif (Ref Drogba's recent comments regarding playing 4-4-2 with Anelka as his partner)

Drogba is pretty much a gonner, Sheva is also quite likely.

Therefore we will see either

a) Anelka...New Guy (first choice)

:woohoo: Anelka...Di Santo/New guy....Di Santo (early cup matches, games of lesser importance)

If Anelka is to be the first-choice man up front, then an intelligent poacher like Huntelaar may be in order. Earlier I said that Sheva is also a likely departure. However, for reasons, if he stays on, he may be the initial first choice partnership with Anelka, until New Guy beds in

I think next season could see us, if rumours pan out, start with choices from the following strikers: Anelka, Di Santos, Huntelaar, Kalou and Villa.

Also, Joey and Malouda could play that secondary striker role, if needed

if drogba goes then we should get crouch

................ then hopefully we might stay up next season.

While we're at it, if Lampard goes why don't we replace him with Robbie Savage or Danny Murphy?

I will be the first one calling Malouda a cab when the window opens !

Drogba I do not want him to go but I kind of feel it is time for him to go

frank.gif NEVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Pizzaro and Tal Ben...... on ya bikes

Sidwell I just want you to go because you are a great player but you aint gonna get a look in mate ...sorry

As for what we need to bring in....hmmmm..... I think we should bring in nout ! We have cover at the back and plenty in midfield and why not play scheva and Anelka up front with Di Santo and Sinclair and understudies. I do not think we need to worry about a striker with 20 + goals a season as look how well we have done this season. Having said this if Drogba does go maybe we should just bring in 1 big signing and thats it.

its difficult if drogba leaves who i can see replacing him, villa is class but you can never be sure how players are going to adjust. huntelaar's name is always in the gossip columns, but coming from holland to chelsea there are similarities with a certain mateja kezman who scored ridiculous amounts of goals in the eredivisie also. kenwyne jones is the only player i can think of in a similar mould to didier but i dont think hes good enough for a championsleague club and he wouldnt get the goals.

i think anelka can be the main man, ive been very impressed with everything about him except his goals, but i think an extended run in the team would bring them.

of almost as big a concern to me would be to get a genuinely world class right back, although im at pains to name any.

Maybe he loves the current Ajax team so much. Anyway did Huntelaar even make an appearance for PSV?

1. Originally behind van Nistelrooy and then Kezman, so he never really got a chance (though PSV wanted to keep him from all reports) and decided to move to Heerenveen.

It was the fact that he was there under Arnesen at PSV that brought up his link a while ago.

I'm a little bored about people mentioning Kezman as a reason why we shouldn't sign players from the Dutch league. There have been plenty of players that have come to the Premiership or moved to other big leagues from the Dutch league and have managed to do well over the years.

I mean, with the same logic I could say that we shouldn't sign Villa because there are similarities with Morientes. icon_rolleyes.gifactions1.gif

Danni Alves, Zambrotta, Ramos, Puyol, Gallas, Maicon, Lahm, Sagna?

I think we should pray that Drogba stays. He will be such a big loss to the team if he goes. Yes, I know he's a big girl's blouse sometimes, but I'd rather have him than not have him.

what i meant was how many of them would we be in with a chance of signing?

alves - lot more likely than last summer. should be top of the list.

zambrotta - seems to have agreed a deal with milan so no.

ramos - heard he is valued at £50million. way too much for a rightback.

puyol - doubt barca would ever sell him, doubt he would want to leave either.

gallas - left partly because he was being played out of position wouldnt come back to do that again.

maicon - possibility, havent seen him play that often so cant give an opinion.

lahm - linked with united, possibility though but isnt he better at left back?

sagna - i know they are a selling club but cant see them doing it.

my point is that the eredivisie is a substandard league, and therefore represents more of a risk if we spent big money on him. not in anyway denying holland has produced great players, or that huntelaar may go on himself to be world class, just that he hasn't played much champions league football and only has a handful of international caps so therefore im sceptical as to his real talents

He will be a loss but we would more than compensate if we changed our style of football.

To what? And why couldn't Drogba play in this new "style" ?

He's the world's best centre-forward. I am certain he could perform briliantly in any formation or.................... "style"

Obviously with another a striker, we could not rely on them to hold up the ball and be the focal point of attack. We have to change our style to make the midfielders and wingers have more responsibility and a lot more movement in attack.

Apart from his diving and petulance, the only criticism of Drogba is that he often takes the wrong decision- particularly when he is out of form, he goes for the selfish, unseeing option. He reminds me a lot of a certain St Steven- when on form, a great player and capable of carrying a whole team on his back, but when off form is selfish and drags the whole team down with him.
