DKW, you are not an expert on Sturridge, I have watched him develop for years. I have heard first hand from people who worked with him that he is a horrid little c**t (If you look back on the Studge thread I have restrained from saying this, I tried to give a balanced opinion of him ignoring this fact.), but of course you know best dont you, having watched one press conference and a sh*tty stream of him live? Its plain to see you are jumping on absolutely everything I say on here. And to answer your question, yes it does make me cringe. I hate seeing players cheat. This is the problem we have. Sturridge was like an uncultured Robinho. He played best in a very similar role. Out an out striker he is not. He will struggle to get into games unless the opposition stand off him. if they do stand off him and give him space he will cause all manner of problems, but he is a long way off being consistent. For every great game he has. He will follow it with 5 bad ones. To get the best out of him im sure he will have to play regularly. I hope he does just so to justify the move. Weiss is going to have to develop quickly. Ideally I would like to see him progress to a regular on the bench and featuring late on, and starting in the carling cup. There is no way he is good enough to displace a Tevez or Robinho at this stage. Being honest he is every bit as good as Sturridge with Studge just a bit ahead of him in the experience stakes, but it was Vlad that led our side to beat you in the Youth Cup final while Studge sat out with yet another injury. It will be interesting to see if he has gotten over those problems because at City he was injured a hell of a lot of the time. Maybe its just growing pains etc... Im going to follow his Chelsea Career like DKW follows me.

Sturridge is about the height of Robinho, therefore I would call him small. He is also fairly quick. Wait until you see him in the flesh rather than banging in a goal against an American side on iraq goals. Robbie does dive but you are kidding yourself if you think its any where near the amount Drogba does. Anyway the debate has moved past that discussion. Sturridge IS potential, he is nowhere near the level of Adebayor and as of yet, not even the level of Kalou. He does have the potential to become great. So in answer to your question I would have rather signed Adebayor than kept a child with the ego the size of planet earth and given him the wages that sent Richards and Johnson flying off the rails.

Pressure is definitely on them to spend now. They have a fair wedge from us to use but he will probably go for Chamakh to bridge the gap of both Adebayor and Nasri. If we are above them at Christmas the fans will be calling for Wengers head again.

Thats a very fair post. I am not denying what Drogba brings to the table, he is a fantastic player (ignoring my gripes) I have always admired his talent, one of my favorite goals in the premier league was his strike at Goodison. His technique is unbelievable and yes, the way he brings others into play is second to none. I do believe that Adebayor will get better though. Your argument about Fabregas is one I do disagree with. Ireland has just as much vision as him and is able to execute it, as does Robinho. I dont think creatively they have much more than us and they didnt score many more than us last season either and that was without us having a player to the lead the line. As for Walcott, how many of those runs does he make? One every 10 games? If he doesnt progress he will quickly end up like Lennon or SWP. To be fair, I agree, money would be a hugely appealing factor and im not going to kid myself into thinking they buy solely into the 'project.' However looking at Arsenal I think he has as much chance of winning trophies here as he did there, maybe even better if we continue to develop and invest.

One of the criticisms I have read of Adebayor is his tendency to run the wings but as he is the highest point of the team at Arsenal there is nobody backing him up so he often has to cut in on his own. At City he wont need to run the wings. Tevez and Robinho will be out there doing that. Adebayors job at City is simple. Hold the ball up, be an aerial threat, get in the box as often as possible and finish what is provided to him from an array of creative talent. Pretty obvious really. Studge was always out the door since January. I believe you made your approach back then, like we did with Tevez. Sturridge has only 2 players better than him in his position at Chelsea. He will get more games and for that I cannot argue. We also have plenty small and nippy players very similar to Studge, Weiss is the next one through and if anything he looks even more promising than Danny. Adebayor brings plenty more to a team than just goals as well, his link up play is excellent. I think its nigh on impossible for Adebayor to compete with Drogba in the "cheat" stakes, as much as it upsets you, deep down you must cringe everytime he collapses in a heap, roughly once every 15 minutes.

Adebayor is approaching that and Drogba was a complete donkey in his first year here. I am extremely confident that Ade will become even better in the next few years. Maybe I am in the minority. However I am certainly not in the minority regarding Drogba and like i say, a choice between the two, I would take Ade. A plus point for me is his age, how old is Drogba?

The season before last he was world class, there is no denying that. Last season he was no where near those heights but still finished with 16 goals despite injury and loss of form. We play very much in the same style as Arsenal and will create countless chances for him this season. Lets face it, he f**ked up big style in the way he wanted to leave, and then ended up signing a lucrative extension with Arsenal. Their fans were on his back constantly, you just have to read what Wenger has said about their role in his season. Yep all day, every day. I hear it and read it constantly. I genuinely believe they are here for the long haul and, although I cant say for certain, I believe the Sheikhs have written off all debt and are not leaving us saddled with the costs. The amount of money we are talking about is small fry to them. Eto'o was our number one target. We agreed personal terms with him and the fee with Barca, the deal hit a brick wall over the loyalty payment as he wanted 50% of the transfer fee. We gave them a 48 hour deadline, 20 hours into that deadline they attempted to extend it causing Khaldoon to cancel the deal immediately. They didn't think we were serious and came back the next day asking us to try and complete the deal, by that time we had already moved onto the second on the list. Im glad we acted in this way and I imagine Eto'o has been hampered with his loyalty fee as the deal is a straight swap plus cash for Ibra. Happy the little git got screwed. Financially at least.
