I do get your point but what good would a youth player be if he didnt play a game with us. For example the goal keeper, if we had Blackman instead of Schwarzer that would be ok but Blackman probably wouldnt ever get a game. How ever if we sent Blackman on loan to a club that needed a keeper, Blackpool for example then he would play every game and learn and hopefully become a better player. Its all well and good having youth in the squad but if they dont get games then its actually holding them back.

23 million might not be good enough for the fans but 23 million is better than the 10 million we might get next season if we dont accept an offer this summer.

There is no vendetta. Its all pretty much fact. Last season was his chance here and he passed it up. If he is as good as he thinks he is then Torres, Ba and an unfit Eto'o should have been no problem for him. Take Drogba for example. He was up against Kezman, Gudjohnson, Sheva, Torres, Anekla, Kalou etc. Ok they arent a great list of strikers looking back at it but every signing we made didnt matter to him. He was going to be the best! Lukaku turns up and sees 3 out of form, unfit strikers and asks to leave. That tells me everything you need to know about the guy.

You do know he was supposed to stay here last season and play dont you? He said himself that he asked to leave once Eto'o turned up. Last season was his best chance to make a real mark at our club and he bottled it and told Jose he wanted to leave.

So what do you suggest we do then? We have signed Costa and Drogba. Lukaku doesnt want to fight for a place in the team, we know that from last season when there was actually hardly any challenge at all. So he has two years left on his contract. If he doesnt sign another one then this is the last summer we can actually make decent money on him. It seems to me that the best idea is to sell him this summer because if we make him stay then next summer he will only be worth half the amount we could get now. People compare him to Sturridge, to me its a totally different case. Sturridge tried! He played out of position, he went on loan (and never bad mouthed the manager or the club) and came back and tried to get in the team BUT the club wanted Torres to be the number one guy. Sturrisge realising he cant get past Torres in the team (even thought he should have) he had to move on. Lukaku on the other hand doesnt want to try and fight for a place in the team (from what we have seen previously) and wants to go somewhere like Everton where he is the number one striker. Thats fine. If he doesnt have the right mental attitude to be at a world class team yet then its probably best for him to go down a level or two and grow up a bit there.

If we did what you suggested then we would turn out like Arsenal and not win anything for nearly 10 years. There is nothing wrong with out system now. We loan players out and if they impress they go to a better team, like Bamford last season. If they dont then they are moved on like Josh is this summer. Not every kid will be good enough to play at such a high level that we need them to. Also there is too much money in football now for us to say "ok we arent going to win anything for the next few years so we can bring in a few kids" Our club struggle to balance the books as it is, if we failed to get into the CL for a couple of seasons it would be just terrible to the bank balance and would take years to recover. Look at United this season. One year out of europe and they are struggling to bring in top players and are having to pay well over the top for adverage players. Thats what happens when you drop out of Europe.

Nottingham Forest have two european cups so does that make them a bigger club than us? The answer is no. Liverpool arent bigger than us anymore. Its been 20 odd years since they last won the league. All Liverpool have is a big history. They got lucky last season but without Suarez they will not be getting that lucky again this season.

I was going to make that point earlier. Out of all the youth players that havent had the chance with us and left for someone else, who would you want back to replace one of our current first team players? I cant think of a single one. None of them have been good enough.
