Has there been a history of player signings on weekends before? I don't know if there is but it generally seems to me that administrative stuff tends to happen on business days. Still won't be that surprised if it happens tomorrow but is starting to seem like something that should happen early in the week.

More importantly we just won the f**king Champions League, we are champions of Europe! I don't know where all this infighting has started from on these boards this last little while but most of it seems post championship which seems kind of odd to me...

Ya I agree with a lot of this post, though it could of been broken into paragraphs. The thing about adding lesser or progressive players like you say in a Schurlle is that it is no guarantee of talent and just stockpiles continually developing players which we now have a lot of. If we add a guy like him I think that turns us into more of an Arsenal than it does of a successful Chelsea of old which feeds off of talent on the wings. Rather than youthful developing players.

I still think it would be best to keep him until January, he provides a different element than both Torres and Sturridge and is more likely to get cup games in the fall here. He would also provide valuable depth for December when recent history shows we have done so poorly. After he has proven his value and shown any possible progress we should loan him in January for consistent playing time somewhere else to finish the year and roundout his game.

With the addition of Hulk and Hazard, in partnership with Torres and Mata, my only worry is that as a team we might be a little short defensively. Ramires can slot in at times on the wings I suppose but it still seems a little nip and tuck. Having a great offence that can pile in the goals is one thing, but if you can't shore up defensively sometimes it doesn't matter, just look at the Arse. As for Essien he will be missed he was always a fan favourite, but it just seems the injuries have racked up and in the end this is a business and we need to make the best decisions for this club to win.
