  1. Stupid, stupid penalty gives Tottenham a goal to tie Wolves. Hopefully they will at least drop two points here.
  2. He could just as easily get injured in training. Or getting into the shower in the morning. Injuries happen as there is only so much you can do to protect him from a potential injury. I'll trust the doctors that he is fit enough to play this much. The club has a massive investment in him so I seriously doubt they are taking any reckless chances.
  3. I have no issues with the match whatsoever, we didn't play our best but still won by 3 goals, on the road, in the Champions League and without our three (maybe) best players.
  4. I went with Yossi. I'm not sure how much we can take out of this match but he looks like an upgrade over Cole.
  5. Squad rotation is important without question. That said if the first 11 are fit and 100% there isn't any reason any one of them shouldn't play. Not to underestimate anyone because they have been playing well but we have Blackpool on the weekend so it's not as if it's critical we save our "big guns" for that match.
  6. This isn't a democracy. No one is owed playing time. If Kakuta is part of the best 18 or even the best 11 then he should see the pitch. At the expense of whomever isn't. Be it Kalou, Anelka, Yossi, even Lampard or Drogba. Whoever. Everyone has to earn their spot. Obvioulsy if he isn't ready for prime time then he sees cameos and gets developmental time in low pressure spots. But if he is ready (and from what I've seen he may be) then he needs to play.
  7. I don't think Kakuta has a similar style to Kalou at all. Kakuta seems more shifty, more creative. Even though he hasn't scored I'm pretty sure he has a better scoring touch. Maybe if he slams a few sitters of the crossbar I'll change my mind about that one. I think Kakuta can be a great sub for this team when we are tied or losing in a mAtch. He is young, fast, energetic and creative. Should work wonders against a tired defense for 15-20 minutes at the end of a match.
  8. It was. I'm pretty sure it was meaningless for them too. I don't mow of you can read anything into that though. You can't treat players like crystal figurines. They need to be on the pitch and sometimes they get hurt. Nothing you can do about it and it isn't fair to say this match was meaningless or we didn't need him out there after the fact. If Essien is part of the best 11 and he is 100%, there isn't any reason to not play him.
  9. I don't think this is a match to take lightly at all. Nothing but a full strength squad for me.
  10. I suppose you could say we were lucky but you make your own luck, right?
  11. BigIzz replied to Benjh's topic in General Chelsea FC
As an ignorant American whose never been to the Bridge (yet anyway), why is it that different stands would have such different atmospheres? It is simply a matter of the more expensive areas being full of rich disconnected corporate people and the cheaper seats are full of poor, passionate drunken average folks?
  12. I've been annoyed that I can't purchase it because it is only in the UK app store and I hadn't be bothered to investigate a work around. You're saying that I shouldn't be too upset about my inability to buy it?
  13. On ESPN2 at 10 eastern in beautiful HD for those of you in the states. I nearly freaked out because I didn't think the match would be televised here in the US but I was wrong. Fox Soccer Plus has the early (lunchtime) match this week that is usually on ESPN for some reason and there is no late game on Saturday either. Strange schedule. That is an awesome picture of Carlo too
  14. From a Chelsea perspective this is great news but would anyone be surprised if he played again down the road?
  15. Does he get 7 extra minutes for his transfer window?
  16. I don't see any reason they can't rebound and finish in the top half of the table
  17. This could be a big loss. I'll believe Boswinga is coming back when he trots on the pitch with a blue kit on.
  18. I'm sure he was confused why the ball didn't go sailing into the stands like it usually does. His undershirt was nice though, well worth the yellow card.
  19. Yeah it is a double standard. United are a fine wine but Chelsea players suck when they hit 30? That said Scholes has been fantastic this season. Maybe he's on HGH or something?
  20. Everyone celebrate because Rooney finally scored by converting a penalty. If that doesn't mean he's back in top form I don't know what does.
  21. Anyone know whose ahead of him? Cech and Zola would be my guess...
  22. He wasn't really involved in anything noteworthy that happened. So that's 32 consecutive league goals scored with zero conceded? Not a bad run
  23. Just one of the 16 clubs that's never won the Premier League. Not surprising you hadn't heard of them.
