Remember being a mere 'slip of a lad' and travelling up to WHL, around 70/71, with some of my mates from my home town of Basingstoke. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife at the ground and there was a large Chelsea contingent, with some of them wearing white knee-length dust coats with blue slogans painted on them, such as 'King Cooke' and the like.
I have never seen so much fighting going on at one time in a football ground and it went on throughout the entire match! We walked down Seven Sisters Road after the match and I saw a group of Chelsea boys pick up a metal litter bin and throw it straight through the plate-glass display window of a Jewellers shop, before reaching in and pulling out all the stuff on display. All the owner could do was stand there, frozen to the spot.
What a day!
