Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Its certainly not the best thing we could do in regards to youth development but lets not think we are alone in doing that, wasnt sterling on about 30k on his first contract at liverpool? its something that should be addressed but you would need to have the fa put it in the rule book to enforce it, keep the basic down but the playing bonuses high maybe

William is 100% good enough for a champions league club that wants to win trophies, there is an argument to be made that that is part of the squad ie: 4th attacking midfielder, he has enough about him to be useful and I think would very capable as the attacker in a 3 man midfield, he has the engine pace and can create.

Who the f**k is Emenalo
What aload of bollocks, your saying basically its because the guy is black that we dont want him around when im sure if given the option every supporter would jump at the chance to give didier his job on 10 yr contract, why not take the what everyone seems to say in regards to why they dont trust him at face value, the guy was a u13 girls coach in america before he came to us and was first thrust on carlo then moved upstairs, what did he do to warrant his job? generally speaking in life you start at the bottom and progress on merit. Emenalo has gone from chief scout to assistant manager to director of football at a champions league club in 4 years off the back of no prior experience in the roles he got the job/s because grant and him got the ear of our owner and obviously tell him what he wants to hear just as frank arneson did before them and not doubt more will after them, THATS the crux of it.

Drogba - this makes grim reading; Daily Mail
Exactly that, I read somewhere think it was around the time of the phone hacking case being in court that papers work out based on previous sales what the projected sales would be minus the out of court settlement likely cost, if it was a plus figure they would run it and hide behind freedom of the press or protecting sources etc as a justification, you have to live in one hell of a bubble to believe that papers have journalistic integrity they are purely there to make a profit and be a political mouthpiece for their billionaire owners

To be fair shedender is merely trying got point out that the board needs to take its fair share of the blame, every time we win the league we don't invest in the team bar after Jose first title win season, mourinho made his fair share of mistakes but ultimately he isn't in charge of the purse strings, I'd like to see how our squad wage bill is made up as personally I think we are getting sh*t value for money when you consider how much is spent on so few first team players, we pay more than city with a smaller squad and they have 2/4 players on £200k+ So how do we stand more??

Matt Miazga
Totally agree that you need to persist with younger players and that you need to allow them to make mistakes to improve, I just dont see it with miazga I hope im wrong, its just I dont see any qualities of him that many others of the same age have as well he just seems abit bang average to me and his distribution for a ball playing type defender was piss poor, I mean is he really better than clarke-salter for example who is chelsea trained and progressed well through our youth ranks and is deserving of having a few 45-90 minutes between now and season end? Call me harsh (I can be to be fair at times) but I think we may of put abit to much faith in how we apparently, if you believe the press, came to hear of the guy, being a 37yr old drogba rating him as a tough opponent, from what ive seen a prime drogba would of tore the boy a new one in minutes, he looks like an arsenal style centreback, looks like he could be good but ultimately is a middle of the roader.
-
Matt Miazga
It wasnt just a mistake for the goal, all 45 minutes he looked out of his depth, lets not forget the guy has come from a mickey mouse league where he had only just broke into the first team over there! he isnt good enough at the moment and guus clocked it and done the responsible thing in hooking him and probably behind closed doors at training giving him the arm round the shoulder and reassuring him, which is a better option to take when they are obviously out of their depth. Miazgas depth being middling championship standard as villa clearly are that poor and will not be bouncing back within a year or two they are that bad.

Matt Miazga
To stop any lasting confidence damage? the boy had a reggie, didnt see a single positive from that first half from him, would be better to get him off reassure him and take him out of the firing line, its one thing looking alright against a villa side who are basically already down and will probably stay down, then it is against a swansea side who want to make sure they stay up. Like I said earlier im expecting the kid to go out on loan and not to be back anytime sooner either, doesnt have anything that makes him stand out from any other average centreback for me, I think this signing might be more about his nationality than his actual talent as we effectively plucked him from a league one club in the hope he may become useful eventually or sold for profit and maybe to help with our american market commitments/marketing.
-
Matt Miazga
I wasnt sure when we signed the guy if he would be up to our standard or if indeed he will make our standard but personally im not impressed so far, I think he will be off on loan from this summer and for the foreseeable future, might be abit harsh but when I look at a young player I try to look at what it is they do well rather than what they are not so good at, in miazgas case imo he has no stand out qualities that are obvious to my eye, but does have a few deficiencies that are obvious im expecting his name to go in enemalos notebook to find a loan for and to keep an eye on in the hope he improves and we can either use him or sell him for a profit, I know its only his second game but I dont see anything to build on personally, we could of saved the 4.5m and used clarke-salter instead.

*Official* Pedro to Chelsea
Could be a case of as he has only ever been at barcelona he isnt used to having a tough game week in week out in the league, could be a bit daunting and take some getting used too I suppose, id be inclined to sell though saying that if a suitable upgrade is brought in for him of course.

Exactly what I think, somebody that Roman will listen too that could persuade him to hold off abit on things he probably shouldn't be involved in
-
Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager
Certainly a valid point about guus doing us/roman a favour in being caretaker both times, I just think that maybe if he could pass on maybe just 5 or 10% of his football knowledge onto the actual decision makers at the club we may end up being run better in future, as to me the problem with roman is that he is a layman (even 10+ years in) in regards to actual football inside knowledge. Basically sometimes what I think seems a good idea to you or I but ultimately could be seen as poor in hindsight (zola as manager maybe?) is something we cant implement at the club, roman has no-one stopping him, for example if he had an idea whilst having a few drinks about spending smallish amounts of money on foreign youngsters in the hope to making a good profit on them in a few years time which helps the clubs coffers and run self sufficiently, he could then let that nice chap who always agrees with him run the operation for him.... I honestly dont think roman has any ill intent for the club or does anything which has harmed us on purpose, its all born out of a lack of real inside football knowledge and being over eager, just like an other fan would probably do given the chance.

In an ideal scenario id say yes, in our clubs scenario would it not be wise to have hiddink stay on in an informal capacity on the board? if only to purely counteract any non-football people opinions offered to roman? I know whos opinion on all things football related id trust if given the option of any member of our board inc emanelo! Personally I think we should use guus experience to make us a better club, I dont think guus would tread on any toes either as he doesnt seem the kind of guy to do that and id imagine it would purely be a parttime job/advisory role that goes straight to the board so would purely maybe to help shape club longterm strategy, if we have one besides win as many trophies as possible that is. If he was to have even the slightest bit of overlap on the first team id get contes blessing mind, and if he wasnt happy with it id stop there being an overlap, although id assume that being italian that conte will be fine working with other figures around him as long as they pull in the same direction, as isnt it the norm in italy to have general managers and directors of football at most clubs, whilst the guy in charge is a head coach?

Who the f**k is Emenalo
May I ask why? I doubt its as simple as above but ask yourself this what did emanelo do to get a job at chelsea? what did his cv boast to get him forced onto ancellottis bench and then moved upstairs into scouting then technical director? jobs for mates is the only logical explanation really, its not like he could of merited it on his previous job which is the normal way you progress in work life.

Which formation do we think conte is going to use with us? the 352 seems like the lazy choice to guess at in my opinion and from what I have read of the guy he is tactically flexible and is more likely to look at what we already have, as long as he drops the 4231 I will be happy as we dont have the players to play it properly imo.

Who the f**k is Emenalo
Maybe but hasnt he said he is leaving roma at end of season? I know he said something along line of he has terrible english but im not sure that would be an issue as conte is italian so no language barrier there and he could use an interpreter whist he learnt english for any non italian speakers, on a side note does granovskiaia speak italian? her profile mentions she speaks a few european language other than russian and english.

Who the f**k is Emenalo
Im hoping that conte gets his own dof in as part of the deal to take the job personally, leave emanelo in charge of the loan army and thats it if roman wants to keep him around, just dont let his sticky little fingers near either the first team or the youth teams, they are neither wanted nor needed, the guys a shyster imo.
-
Who the f**k is Emenalo
Seeing as if you believe the press emanelo wanted pelligrini I think his position should very much be under scrutiny, I can think of only one reason why he would want pelligrini and that's because he would do as he is told and not rock the boat, as it's not because he has done a great job at city is it? It was a self serving decision as far as I'm concerned and I'm glad he was overruled, here's hoping conte gets his way and we get a dof he wants in place.

I think he did better than you give him credit for to be fair, juventus after the scandal were not exactly in their prime, inter had cherry picked all their best players and were streets ahead of juventus, I cant think of a good analogy to be fair, maybe something like if klopp came in and turned liverpool into title winners 3 on the bounce maybe *shudders at the thought*

Personally id sack emanelo off and give hiddink the dof of football job if I had my way, as long as conte as manager didnt object have other ideas, is perfectly suited to the job for my money, comes from a country that has a strong pedigree in youth development, knows the club, has the owner on side and actually has a footballing background that would put him in contention for the job even if he wasnt friendly with the owner.

Agreed to put it bluntly we need a football man in a football mans role, with emanelo part of the problem for me lays in what is his exact role what is he responsible for? is he in charge of just the loan army or has he a more dof role which includes first team responsibilities? does anyone know for sure? his job description on the official website is specific but vague at same time it says "He has been an important part of the first team management structure since his arrival in October 2007, and now supports the work of the first team manager, leading the club's international and domestic scouting network, and assists in driving the technical programmes of our Academy and international youth network" and whats a technical director when its at home? is he basically in charge of the loan army and sending the scouts out on their assignments or is he a dof with all that goes with the job but under the guise of technical director? Im not sure personally to what extent his fingers are in the first team pie as alot of transfers seemed like mourinho transfers but also a number seemed not like mourinho so there is the confusion, but im not sure anyone would argue the man got the job by being the best qualified, how much power does a man who has no notable achievement at playing or coaching level have at our club? As usual so many questions with so little answers from the club, but it kind of feels/looks like that in the loan army emanelo has created a job for himself at the club, kind of like how health and safety industry create new problems to create new jobs to keep themselves in work, its changing titles on an office door to keep themselves in work, grant and emanelo will never be wanted/liked by our supporters as from the outside its hard to imagine how those 2 numpties have got to where they are without being very socially savvy shall we say.
