Looks like Matt Miazga is likely to come our way. I haven't seen much of him but 5 mil for a 20 year old center back that is regarded as one of the best in the MLS I like it. Hopefully pointless loans don't ruin his development but with him, zouma, and Christensen, we might have a nice core of young CBs in our ranks. What do you guys think?

It's still a rumour for now.  MLS is certainly upping its game, but I'll be surprised if this guy doesn't get sent on loan and then leave because he sees his US National team opportunities dwindle with lack of playing (something Klinssman has said he wants his players to have)

after lack of opportunities I have seen CFC give to Good Youth prospects, I don't know what to really think of this rumor/signing. I thought Ken Omeruo would get a fair chance after putting Cavani in his pocket at the 2013 Confederation's Cup, but when was the last time he wore Blue?

This makes perfect sense. He wont need a work permit, hes 20 and has plenty of room to improve, he plays CB were we could use cover, he was super cheap and he is going to sell shirts and attract new eyes if he makes the 25 man squad. Theres almost no risk involved.

Ill admit Im a little biased and probably more excited than I would be if I was English but c'mon, its going to be good to have an American around.

Loanee number 74?

This makes 0 sense at all, what about the Hector guy we signed from Reading?

Is it for sure that he will be loaned?

Pretty much that, anyone seriously believe we will play a 20 year old who hasn't played in Europe before?

Play maybe not often, but maybe a role similar to kenedy.

Firstly, as said above he will help us sell some many shirts in the US market, should be given a squad number and kept around no matter what his talent.

Secondly, Ive seen all his one season at NYRB, he is quality, a great defender, his one goal shows he has the golden touch infront of goal, next Maldini etc etc

Nah.

It's the MLS, he is 20 and has very little experience.

We have Zouma, Terry, Cahill, Ivan to play CB plus guys like Christensen who are well ahead of this guy because they have far more experience.

We will loan this kid out, of that I'm pretty certain.

If he stays within the squad its for his footballing ability only, shirt sales are an added bonus.

Without actually knowing anything about this guy (he could well be the next Nesta for all I know), considering that we already have a small nation's worth of centre backs (some of whom actually show a great deal of promise) out on loan, the cynic inside me is wondering whether this is an attempt to break into the US market?

He's 20, already in the NYRB first XI (over Ronald Zubar no less(!)) and has an international cap - a $5m investment could pay dividends in terms of shirt sales.

He could turn out to be a very good cb or a complete donkey. Not seen anything of him so impossible to judge. Not all signings have to be world global superstars so this one is a case of wait and see.
