how robben is blamed for today is beyond me...he clearly landed badly and turned his ankle...yes it's frustrating, but it's not like he did it on purpose and had nothing to do with us losing the game...I blame carvalho for getting sick overnight..what a

does anyone still believe the English hype that ashley cole is the best defender in the world?...I can't remember that many good displays from him this season, or should I put it this way, wayne bridge has had more good games than cole

Liverpool
Yes, I think you'll find that it is. I'm not exactly broken-hearted that we probably won't win the title for the third year running - no-one should expect that - but I'm f*ckin' pissed off with the fact that we still haven't signed a back-up central defender, or a back-up striker. Whether that's down to Mourinho, Kenyon, Abramovich, Arnesen or Buck doesn't matter - but they need to sort it quickly. For f*ck's sake, they say that they want Chelsea to be the dominant force in world football by 2014 - if they carry on like this, they've no chance. From what I heard on the radio, we showed no passion or spirit today at all - that has to be down to Mourinho. He left it too late to make changes, yet again - if he did it to get his point across to the owners, then he should be sacked. I remember Dave Sexton doing a similar thing in the early 70's, he destroyed a top-class side just because he was sh*t at man-management, and decided to prove a point by selling Osgood, Cooke, and Hudson - then he f*cked off when we about to be relegated. I wouldn't be so gutted if we'd lost to Wigan, and drawn today, but to lose to the pox-ridden scum from Merseyside just makes me so angry! Words can't describe how I feel towards those c*nts. To be fair, while I thought sheva should have come on for Kalou (not mikel) earlier, I don't think it would have made a difference...we have lost to liverpool with a much stronger team before because when they score first they sit back and are very hard to break down...we let two in the first 20 minutes due to our sh*te defence and it was over... as for the title, my main frustration is that i feel we basically shot ourselves in the foot from day one last summer...we reduced the size of the squad, bought two galacticos to upset the balance and spirit, got rid of gallas for cole and then Huth without getting more centre backs in...the defeat at Middlesbrough was the first indication that the team wasn't as strong as the last two seasons and even though we showed great fight before xmas, our luck has run out

in a way it lightened my tension...it was funny in a black humour kind of way...summed up our performance

Robben the key to EP title !
robben was never key to the title, he was perhaps part of the key chain! Alan hansen has always said that champions are built on the back four and the keeper...it's been our main strength the last two seasons, but it has been severely disrupted this season, not helped by our ridiculous obsession with signing ashley cole rather than getting Gallas on a long-term contract

Liverpool
I thought Mikel did do quite well...he knocked the ball around and certainly succeeded with more passes than Ballack or should I say boll*ck...as always we had more more of the ball (possession) than liverpool and Mikel was partly responsible for that...problem is we were 2-0 down before him and the rest of the players got their foot on the ball...anyone hear sky desperately hype up liverpool's chances in the title race? they're 11 points behind united having played a game more and they're still in it, we're six behind and our title hopes look over...how do they figure that one out?
-
Liverpool
I know, I had to grimace at that...I thought he was pretty quiet apart from a few tackles on swp

Liverpool
They were up 2 nil! You certainly cannot blame them for playing like that. They did nothing wrong. I wasn't just referring to this game, I'm talking about liverpool in general

Liverpool
most ridiculous chant of the day: rafa's the special one...is that what they were singing after they got stuffed 6-3 by arsenal in the last trophy (Carling Cup) they have a chance of winning?

Liverpool
liverpool are a long way off from winning the league...not good enough by a mile...even today after taking advantage early on of our makeshift back four, they looked very average...they have a good solid back four, but it seems if the long ball isn't working and they don't score first in games, they run out of ideas
-
Liverpool
I'm already looking ahead to next season, I can't see us winning the title now...we will concentrate on the cups...as for the premiership, we will be back...don't worry about that...give us our best team (no long-term injuries to cech, terry, cole etc) and we will win the league again...the club has had to learn some lessons this year and I think we will be better for it

Liverpool
I think I jinxed Drogba
-
What a Dilemma
United, surely you want to win the title this season? this could affectively do it for you even though you hate liverscum, why worry about a team that is going to win fu*k all this season?
-
Liverpool
Drogba our best player today...he's not given up and leading the line on his own
-
Liverpool
kalou has looked like a kid out there playing against men

Liverpool
that's miss Alyssa Milano yeah baby yeah! Is she any good at the back

Liverpool
Liverpool are going to win fu*k all

Jayjawk, who's the bird in your avatar, at least she's been good to look at today!

Liverpool
that early goal sucked any belief/confidence out of the team and I can understand why, not that i accept it...let's be honest they were thinking what we were thinking...our defence is sh*t
-
Liverpool
I had a feeling pennant would score today just as i had a feeling we'd lose the moment I saw the team-sheet...I said a few months ago that the main reason I felt we wouldn't win the title this season is that things have gone against us this year unlike the previous two...from hitting the post, to injuries, to ref decisions...even on the day we get cech back, we lose carvalho to an illness on the day of the game...he is much better than ferreira and you could tell the whole team were sh*tting themselves of how they were going to deal with Liverpool's long ball tactics from the start
-
Liverpool
Thing is the whole team has been affected by the back four...our attacking players are deeper cos they're so worried about it...couldn't believe gray saying now we'll see how good how jose is. what the fu*k is he supposed to do? he doesn't have a central defender in his squad, that's nothing to do with his managerial ability...ferreira looks like his confidence is shot to pieces and geremi suddenly looks like a player being played out of position...now liverpool can drop every man behind the ball making our chances of scoring v difficult...we know that we have to score first against them cos of the way they sit back so no surprise we're having lots of possession but struggling to create chances...oh and robben is injured again so we're without our best wing threat...what a disaster

Liverpool
andy gray is loving this

a modern fairy tale
only the stuff of nightmares at the moment

Liverpool
already I'm thinking: why didn't the club fork out for a central defender this week...we wouldn't meet bolton's asking price for ben haim, i understand that we don't want to get ripped off, but it could be the final decision that cost us the chance of winning the title..was saving a few quid worth the price?
-
Liverpool
that benitez is a better manager than jose and has got his number! Even wycombe knew how to play against this back four!
