  1. I'd go back to bed if I were you!
  2. robben is injured...radio making mountains out of nothing
  3. this game was over the moment the teamsheet was handed in
  4. ?6 a month is the cost of two matchday programmes, or two pints at the ground, so if you're prepared to pay that then what's the problem with chelsea tv? It's not great but if you're a fan of the club it gives u enough stuff to make it worthwhile as long as you remember to 'turn your telly down'
  5. yes we need him at his best against liverpool for sure
  6. I don't wish to get in another arguement over Robben (particularly with you Just), but Neil Barnett has written his column on the official website where he details his importance to the team...when the debate last raged I remember Just accusing him of not having an end product or creating goals and yet stats for this season show he is only behind Lampard despite having two spells out with injury... Barnett's tally reads: Lampard 15, Robben 8, Essien 5 He still has things to improve on, but is it a coinicidence that Chelsea looked much more dangerous on saturday with him in the team? Have a read of Barnett's piece, it makes a lot of sense. http://www.chelseafc.com/xxchelsea18070 ... _2209129_2
  7. deschamps was sh*te...even he admitted he'd only played 50 per cent or something like that...he came for a pay day and didn't deserve to get a cup medal
  8. well some of the old boys wanted chelsea the way it used to be...be careful what you wish for!
  9. what's the betting that henry's goal gets the nod over martins stunner v spus today...same team move from the back, but martins shot was an absolute screamer at 84mph and paul robinson got nowhere near it...he only had a small target to aim at compared to henry who also benefitted from friedel deflecting it in off the woodwork
  10. no but then we're boring boring chelsea aren't we, whereas Taylor plays for little old portsmouth and their goals don't count
  11. I heard Jose say this on the radio not on bbc tv
  12. what a farce...more like our chums of the month...winner for december? Paul scholes...a good volley from the edge of the box granted, but was it better than Matt Taylor's from 40 yards? was it better than essien's 35 yard shot with the outside of his foot curling from outside the post and into the top corner in the dying seconds to keep chelsea's unbeaten record? In a word no...then they start creaming themselves over henry's good goal today...i'm not saying these goals weren't good, but they talked about henry's like it was one of the best ever...it was a counter attack against sloppy defending with a good shot at the end...but cos it was henry, it was from another planet
  13. he also said something like I love the club and I will stay if the club want me
  14. best: Franco...even our most fierce rivals thought he was great Worst: Just to be different i will say Ambrosetti - the next Ryan Giggs apparently!
  15. I know what you're saying Loz, but I think it's important the fans who have grown up in the successful years are given a reality check...it's all very well throwing the toys out the pram when chelsea aren't performing, but there was a time it happened on a regular ocurrance and we shouldn't become spoilt by our success...while Tim may be frustrated at the response he got to his opinion, it's also frustrating for the older fan to see a lack of patience in fans who have never had to put up with Chelsea being relegated to Division Two (now the Championship). Tim must have know by writing the piece the way he did, it was going to invite criticism so he must be prepared to take it...we all have our moments of frustration, I was actually more angered by our draw at villa than last night, but it's crucial we keep our cool
  16. If you have to explain this point to people Nibs, you're wasting your breath. They have no idea, not a clue about real support. They are fair weather fans. Yes Tim, you included. Fair weather fans. Honestly, the visting Mancs and Scousers on here must be laughing their tits off at this, "I've had enough" thread. The last ten or so years you say ? Well my friend every single one of those years have been a glory filled cavalcade compared with the many long and dark years that went before. Hoddle, Guillit, Vialli, Ranieri, Jose ? Try watching a few years of Blanchflower, Shilletto, Hurst, Porterfield. In fact try watching ten years of that mate. Try spending your hard earned acker travelling around the country watching us get beat by the likes of Rotherham, Forest, Preston, Shrewsbury. Because that what's real football supporters do. Supporters like the many people who have followed this great club through really dire times. So, to sum up, slag the quality of the football or the tatics if you must, but "I've had enough" ? Get a farking grip mate. again Just you have beaten me to it...Tim's post lost all credibilty the moment he says I've been a chelsea fan for 10 years! I'm not the oldest chelsea fan on this site but I have watched the club for 25 years...that doesn't make chelsea's performance last night any better, it's like Just says, it gives us a bit of perspective...I remember chelsea slipping up every year at a lower division side in the cup. Fact is we chelsea fans have been spoilt during Tim's 10 years with silverware and a style of football...we haven't been great of late, but to be fair the games have been pretty exciting this season even if results haven't gone our way...I can understand someone being frustrated with the result and display last night, but Chelsea will hopefully rediscover their best form when our best players return. The last thing we need is rash statements and a lack of patience
  17. what does concern me are the following quotes from jose after the game....now it's worrying enough about the transfers and what seems to be a disagreement maybe with board..but what annoyed me was what jose is saying about the kids we have and the lack of confidence he is showing in them...now i'm not saying sahar, smith, mancienne, sinclair etc are ready for regular first team action right now, but the way jose talks it's like their shi*e and will never be good enough for him...i mean it's not as if he's really given them a chance yet...I think it sends out the wrong message and like said elsewhere, too much whinging http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0, ... 88,00.html
  18. I know it sounds wrong, but tonight didn't really bother or surprise me...I had the feeling all along that the players thought we'll take them at the bridge...doesn't excuse a woeful performance, but basically wycombe wanted it more than chelsea tonight and it was cup football at it's best...we have seen it many times before and will see it again...in a weird way i'm glad wycombe made a game of it and ensured the second leg has some meaning...we'll book our place in cardiff no doubt and wycombe have had a match to remember, no harm done as far as i'm concerned...we'll have the spine back soon of cech, terry, lamps and drogba
  19. I can't believe how lightly benitez took the game tonight considering it's their best chance of silverware, even though we're still in it It might not have been their strongest team, but their morale must be low after going out of two cups so I hope that will make the league game coming up easier...as for benitez, i said at the time that his champs league win would make a rod for his own back as it papered over the cracks in his team and his management, while also raising the expectations of the fans. Liverpool are no closer to winning the league and are still a cup team which is what they were under houllier, although Arsenal have taken that ability from them too...they still have champs league but i can't see them challenging for that...tonight's rout has given me a lot of satisfaction, even if it was the arse
  20. let's be honest we haven't exactly had a tough schedule recently anyway...our holiday schedule was Wigan away, reading home, fulham home and Villa away, plus macclesfield at home in the cup...so we can't exactly get over-confident about these next set of games
  21. my feeling is that a deal has been struck here...the fa don't want to go to war with the england captain and chelsea don't want their captain to get a ban...i reckon the fa said cop a guilty plea and we will let you off with a fine...let's wait and see
  22. I just thought of the same thing, particularly as that win in 2000 was the last time it was at wembley...don't normally go for omens etc but remember all that weird liverpool stuff and the chmpions league
  23. I think the world cup killed sheva for us this season...he wasn't fit but it was ukraine's first wc and he had to be there on a personal and national level...but he was injured and it did him more damage...as a result he was struggling in pre-season and the knock-on effect has been his lack of pace/form during the season...with that comes a dramatic fall in confidence particulalry with the papers seemingly revelling in his demise...I feel their behaviour is the equivalent of laughing at Ali when he looked like an ageing fighter taking a pummeling...whatever happens to him at chelsea, he will remain a legend of the game and deserves more respect
  24. sack Jose now...shaking hands with opponents? what the F***! Get the FA, UEFA, FIFA on the case immediately... nice to see macclesfield finally having something positive to say about their trip to the bridge
