One question though. Did Pool really play with their best players? I know their defence isn't as good as it was last season or so but I can't see them conceding 6 goals :?

Liverpool may have played an under strenght team , but so did Arsenal .

I cant see us putting anything near 6 past them , but heavens above their defending was abysmal . As for Benitez , well , listening to fans phoneing in to Alan Green on 5 live after the game , it was great to hear the scousers calling for his head less than 2 years after they all hailed him the new Shankly . How the tide can turn . Proves one thing , that CL Win was the most overated and fluked victory in the history of the game .

I can't believe how lightly benitez took the game tonight considering it's their best chance of silverware, even though we're still in it It might not have been their strongest team, but their morale must be low after going out of two cups so I hope that will make the league game coming up easier...as for benitez, i said at the time that his champs league win would make a rod for his own back as it papered over the cracks in his team and his management, while also raising the expectations of the fans. Liverpool are no closer to winning the league and are still a cup team which is what they were under houllier, although Arsenal have taken that ability from them too...they still have champs league but i can't see them challenging for that...tonight's rout has given me a lot of satisfaction, even if it was the arse

I was thinking the same thing . It was there best chance to win something this season. Fergie was more than happy to win it last year ? I can?t see them getting past Barca in the champions league. The thing that shocked me more was that they had no plan B ?? The whole gameplan was obvious from the start get an early goal sit back and nick a 2nd on the break . Fair play to Le Arse they gave them no respect at all and were not scared to play at Anfield .

I actually think this was a bad result for us as it makes our trip up there a must win game for Fat Rafa and the Liverpool squad . He has to get a result against us or he and the team will be in big trouble.
