  1. Some players are not bad players. They just have a level and a system that suits them. Someone like James Tarkowski is a decent enough example. Solid defender for a certain type of Premier League side. Mid-to-lower table, low block, lots of defending in and around the box, clear responsibilities, no need to play on the front foot for long stretches. For me, Axel Disasi falls into that category. He is not a top-level defender for a side that wants to dominate games, hold a higher line, defend big spaces and stay calm in possession under pressure. But put him in a deeper setup, where the game is in front of him and the demands are simpler, and he looks far more comfortable. That is not an insult. It just means not every player is built for every level. From our current team, I would also put Trev and Tosin in that bracket.
  2. Said it before - will say it again, I like Garnacho. He has something about him. A little bit of arrogance, a self belief, a face that annoys opposition fans.... he is not afraid to have a go and try. His output can be better, but alongside Palmer and Stevo, he is the one player in our team who will try something flamboyant. Miles ahead of Gittens, and for me, much better than Neto is is epitome of patchy/streaky - and never seems to do it in big games.
  3. Open and attacking mindset - not sure about that, because I think mindset will change at different points in the game. But playing faster and moving the ball forward more progressively absolutely CAN be achieved with this squad. Many people will call it 'more attacking' if we play in a faster/more progressive manner - but I guess thats all subjective (attack is the best form of defense!). I dont care how it is badged. Just STOP the pissing around with it between defenders. Get the ball to our better players quicker, move the ball faster, and stop passing back to the goalkeeper.
  4. My point is that its not a limit - if it is playing to our strength. PSG in the club world cub were the one with possession - we didnt look to piss around with it at the back. And we smashed them. Barcelona in the champions league ditto. These are not limitations. I think you are right - in that we are saying probably similar things, but from a different mindset. I think we should look to do things differently, and be proud of that. Do it better than others. Make others change their game to play us. Let Pep and his copycats piss around with it at the back and play their tiki taka. Jose mark 1 built a machine. Not one on flamboyance or endless recycled passing - but by being difficult to break down, and relentless in efficiency. We would not look to pass it around the back for the sake of it, but would do what we did best. Batter teams and grind them down. Lets get back to being chelsea - with the first step of not trying to copy other people.
  5. Not true. There are literally hundreds of ways of playing the game, with almost infinite combinations. The best rule is, play to your strengths. If you have a goalkeeper who is comfortable as a sweeper with the ball at his feet, and defenders who play in a way that like inviting pressure onto them when they are in possession, then by all means play that way. but if your players, like ours, are completely hopeless at it, and ponderously slow - then FFS - stop trying.
  6. speaking out against the owners is fine... speaking out about how the players should be doing better is fine.... saying that madrid is similar to buenos aires is fine... I do not get the rabid response to these developments. I get some dont think he is good enough to build a team around - and thats fine...but to over react in this extreme manner is odd. Our fans turning more into arsenal like hyperbolic lunatics by the day....
  7. I was at that game ... Mexico vs Argentina. Best atmosphere I ever experienced at a game. Enzos goal was special too...
  8. I like Cucu as a player - at least some of what he offers. But the twat pining for Maresca, who was a useless, risk averse manager, who had us playing super boring, unprogressive football, which was slow and predictable - is utter nonsense. We should not confuse the matter.... the board sacking maresca was the correct decision based on how we played on the pitch. Just because they followed that up by bringing in Rosenior - who in my opinion is also having us play the same super boring, unprogressive football, which is slow and predictable, and which as a result is a bad error in judgement, doesnt make their decision to sack fraudesca wrong. We were sh*t with Poch - it was the right decision to sack him after he failed to change the slow way we played, despite having had a whole season to do so. We were sh*t under maresca - it was the right decision to sack him after he also failed to change the slow way we played. We should also sack Rosenior - if between now and the end of the seasonm it looks like he refuses to change the slow way we play. I bring this back to Emery at villa. He came in, and immedietly there were signs of progress. A clear new style to how the team tried to play. Doesnt always need to work. I am ok with short term pain, but I do want to see progress and intent to change.... which nobody is doing. The only one who showed glimmers was Potter towards the end, but overall, he also failed to deliver enough evidence that there was a clear change to the slow style (although he admitedly had less time than poch or fraudesca.
  9. oh, but what a driver....
  10. said the same under maresca, poch, lamps, potter... the problem is that these managers all keep doing the same thing. They keep plying slow and stagnant football. Need to out a rocket up their arse and let the handbrake off
  11. Not true. I have seen them play with the handbrake off. PSG club World Cup, Barca ucl - both cracking full throttle performances
  12. Yep - and I was vocal against it. ditto potter. Ditto poch Ditto tuchel
  13. He is the one who is telling them to play around at the back week in week out and play slow ponderous football. or if he isn’t, he is the one continuing to select the players who refuse to stop passing it around at the back and who refuse to stop playing slow ponderous football. One of those things MUST be true. Either way, it’s unforgivable
  14. bo**ocks. Get them to rip into the opposition and ply with the handbrake off. Have a f**king go.
  15. Rosenior is hopeless. Every game, the same sh*t as what Maresca had us play. Slow, boring, unprogessive and predictable football.
  16. they have the same issue - because they are choosing to. It is not hard to get them to play fast, urgent football. 1) tell them to play fast urgent football and stop pissing around with it between the defenders 2) if any player refuses. drop them it will soon fix it
  17. sack this c**t - has is playing the same boring sh*t that fraudesca churned out Get him out
  18. I am glad Reece has signed, he is a brilliant player. He is one of a handful of genuinely world class players we have,. I am however not so generous with my praise on the pay cut. My baseline expectation is that any chelsea player who claims to love the club, should be willing to bleed blue and fight for the cause for free. I am pretty sure than everyone on here would take a salary cut to play for Chelsea FC. A multi millionaire who is still being paid eye watering amounts of money does not deserve the high praise that sone give, for doing something which should be the baseline. Fair play to him - he didnt hold us to ransom like some other mercenaries have in the past. But he is still reportedly earning around the figure of a million pounds per month. So not as if he is going to be stretched....
  19. Even the commentators were saying it - going on how Wrexham were cheated by the circumstances of the cup, given that earlier rounds didnt have it. It would have been the other way around, WE would have been cheated had it been given.
  20. Been quiet - middle east is on fire, so dealing with that - but can always make time to weight in on rickety rob. He is simple not good good enough to be Chelsea keeper. We have been saying it for 2 seasons since he joined. He makes Mendy look reliable with his feet (when he was anything but). Rob is simple a good shotstopper, but rubbish at all other parts of the game. Loads of GKs like him. None are at the top
  21. I always rated Jackson - I would love to see him back at chelsea. www.google.com/where-to-buy-a-gun-in-SW-London
  22. well, thats a problem in itself if true. If the manager is reliant on an attacking winger, not known as a steller defender, to protect his defence, then that is on the manager and the system. Its like Jackson. He was an utterly awful player, and an even worse human being - but it was Maresca that kept selecting him...
  23. Out of Garnacho, Sterling, George and Sterling - I think Garnacho is the best of the currnt day bunch. The bunch might not be any good - but he is still the best of the bunch.
