  1. iirc we were 4th & 10 points behind utd when we bought torres.
  2. for me; once he's gone he's gone. he can do what he wants & it will never dampen my memories of what he has done for us. this is extra true as he seems to want to stay but the club are forcing him out. it may be different if he agitated for a move...but that isn't why he is leaving. anything he owed us as fans for supporting him, he has repaid ten-fold with what he has done on the pitch. good luck to him whatever he does...i hope he doesn't end up at utd, but if that is the best option available to him, i wouldn't blame him for taking it.
  3. cech is the better keeper right now. i would consider letting him go & bringing courtois in because cech seems to be getting injured a lot for a keeper & seems pretty broken down in general. there would certainly be an immediate dip in quality if we did that but it could well benefit us in the long term...if we don't bring him in soon i think we will lose courtois, which would be a big negative imo. i wouldn't want to see either go, but they can't both be our number 1 & they both deserve to be number 1, whichever club they are at. it's a nice conundrum to have. 2 genuinely world class keepers on the books.
  4. de gea was actually considered weak, un-commanding & flappy at crosses even by the standards of la liga. courtois is clearly in a different league to that fella. that's just not true at all. carlo was fit, & on the bench, at the start of that season. he had an awful time in one of our pre-season games (milan maybe?) & from that moment on cech was jose's number 1.
  5. loved him as a kid...my favourite player... i know a lot of fans don't like him for how he left...but i don't care. his goal against qpr is still my favourite chelsea goal ever too.
  6. i think its about 50/50 not including his suspension. i don't know why he would bother rotating someone who was suspended as well. its not like he was resting him so he could be fresh for his ban. him getting games seemed more like rotation than him missing games. for whatever reason rafa doesn't seem to particularly rate mikel.
  7. i'll support him cos of the club he manages. everyone gets a clean slate & the only thing that matters is how well he does by the club while he's here. i don't think i'll ever like the fella though & any credit he earns will always be grudging. at least we all know pep is a certainty for the summer tho. there is no way that roman is foolish enough to regard rafa as a long term option.
