Jorrel Hato *Official*
Fair point. Martinez did have ample time to come and deal with it. Martinez was allowed to be bought because he is 33, cheap and won't block Penders, where diogo Costa and Trubin would have. OK then start Penders. Looked good against Leeds, nothing he could do on the 3 goals. Play him then, Big Pete was damn good coming in from the French league let's give Penders a run.

For sure. Am also pondering if Coventry will end up like Ipswich 2 years ago and we be the only team that loses to them on their own patch.

Chelsea vs Hull City (PL) Saturday 12th September 15:00 GMT
Score twice against a newly promoted side is not much to write home about. The defending overall, especially on their 2 goals, was stuff schoolboys would be ashamed of. Gusto jumped out of the way from blocking the cross, 6 players had the chance to block the shot of the second goal and only 1 of them made a half effort to do so. That ain't hard work, that is awful commitment.

Not to mention our one actual starting midfielder gets less involved in the play than the opposition goal keeper so is somehow more useless than Gusto.

They are a good, hard working side. Most importantly they are a team, and we are not. Only thing I can think of for this one off game is trying is deploying somone with a DM role, someone with a good physical frame, maybe it helps and after internationals we have Henderson and Caicedo back as we sadly need both badly. Penders James Fofana Lacroix Chavarria Palmer Acheampong Barco Quenda Joao Pedro Rogers

Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
Multiple windows of bad recruitment. We can but hope we remain in both cups and we have serious recruitment plans in January for both midfield and defence. Maybe Alonso has in mind some players who can come in who we have not heard of or considered, like we chavarria and Palestra. Though I guess neither of those have proved to be good signings yet. One thing is for sure though, we have learned we are not good enough to be in the title race so it is another battle for third and forth.

Left a gaping hole in the midfield though. Given how it happened I personally believe that Martinez was a panic buy from Clearlake changing their position on our goalkeeper department. They were dead set on it being Sanchez and Penders and then Alonso kicked off after Fulham and they offered him Martinez or Sanchez, with the priority being to not block Penders as the medium term number 1. Henderson and Welbeck come in to try and fix our terrible mentality problem. Still too many soft players left though. Most of what the chuckle brothers did before this summer needed binning, still too much of it remains. Hopefully in 3 or 5 more windows we get a complete squad of good options.

Malo Gusto to Chelsea
One of two for me. The other being how pathetic we are defensivly.

Mike Penders
Martinez may help Penders become number 1 soon than most of us expected.

Xabi Alonso - New Chelsea Manager
Soft and unprepared: Now how will the players respond to this?

Patience as in we are not screaming "Alonso out"? Sure, Alonso gets plenty of time as a new manager, along with how we massively failed him in the window. That does not mean he, and the team, should not get heavily criticised for performances and results like this one. Hull managed only 3 league goals in their first 3 league games. Aston Villa kept a clean sheet vs them at Hull, villas only point in 4 games now. Coventry only let in a single goal and that is Coventry who have lost all 3 opening games. Yet Hull managed to score 2 against us and get a point at our home. 4 league games and we only managed to get wins if we score at least 3 goals. That's abysmal. Alonso picking Gusto again despite him being a terrible footballer with a dreadful attitude. That's abysmal as well. Leaving out our best center back back who is also the best at defending in the air vs a team who rely on the ball in the air. That's abysmal. I want a long term manager. I want that to be Alonso but the above has to be fixed. Basic tram selection is on him.

Malo Gusto to Chelsea
I doubt anyone can defend Alonso selecting Gusto again today. After his horror display vs Leeds he follows up again today, and that is on you Xabi for picking this waste of space! Had Josh and Reece who you could play at right back and both of them stop that cross, Gusto jumped out of the way FFS! Learn from you mistakes, keep picking Gusto and you will be out of a job.

Garnacho an unused sub again. Will be our problem again next summer. This seasons Harvey Elliot for Villa.

Chelsea vs Hull City (PL) Saturday 12th September 15:00 GMT
I mean many of us have called it that the defence giving up 2 or more goals every game is going to hurt us as it is not sustainable for the front 3 to save us every game. Today they couldn't. They still managed 2 which is a good return but was not enough because we cannot defend. Don't fix the defence and we achieve nothing of note this season. Warning signs were there before today and remain. Alonso has to fix it otherwise he will get the blame and we will have to start over again.

Gusto again... Looks like a back 4 with either Fofana at RB and Gusto LB or Gusto RB and Hato LB. Could be a back 3 with Gusto and Neto as wing backs. If Gusto is on the left Alonso has done that as hulls right sided midfielder is left footed and loves to counter. Team is made weaker leaving out Lacroix and including Gusto.- Chelsea vs Hull City (PL) Saturday 12th September 15:00 GMT

Given who is out most of Alonsos 11 seems very likely. Only question marks for me is whether he puts in Fofana or Colwill alongside Lacroix and Josh, and whether he goes with Gusto or Neto. The other 9 players, including the more physical Hato at lwb again, seem nailed on.- Random Rumours
Roma, and their coach in particular, are said to want Jamie Gittens as well, if we can work out a deal that means they have to buy him after a loan then bringing in Kone really should be a priority.......- Chelsea vs Hull City (PL) Saturday 12th September 15:00 GMT
As a center back in a back 4 I'd agree with you. The RCB and LCB in a back 3 have more responsibility to create, join up with the midfield and attack, and be mobile. The latter is Reece biggest issue as the more mobile he is the great chance of his getting another injury. - Chelsea vs Hull City (PL) Saturday 12th September 15:00 GMT
