In terms of this season vs last seasons wide attacker/winger options we went from: 1 outstanding option in Cole Palmer 3 decent/average options in Jadon Sancho, Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto. To 1 outstanding option in Cole Palmer 1 excellent but raw option in Estevao 1 decent option in Pedro Neto 1 decent/garbage option in Alejandro Garnacho, depending whether he is a sub (decent) or starter (garbage). 1 complete waste of space and investment Jamie Gittens. So for Starters we have increased our quality but for overall depth we have more options but the quality is way worse, imo.

And that is the sort of standard we used to hold ourselves to. Not anymore though. Now many of our lot gas up home draws with Arsenal and away ones to the toon as some sort of moral victory as they suckle kool-aid from the BlueCo teet. No standards.

This one is on my mind as we either lose or we strengthen Arsenals title chances by winning/drawing this game. In all cases we lose one way, a draw being the worst case scenario imo

So I am seeing some of the reactions elsewhere from our fan base of wanting to give us a bunch of credit for this comeback draw. Credit after that first half garbage? Here is where I will Give credit: Reece James for that world class free kick and his leadership. Robert Sanchez for how he has turned it around, and that pass to Joao. Joao Pedro for that quality goal. Rest of them can do one. Newcastle had a past it Schar, a Milan reject and a midfielder who had to play right back cause they had no one else at the back. They were ravaged and we made that lanky streak of piss look like a world class striker. Do better.

No but sadly that 41 year old is a better center than anyone we have in our squad. Colwill included. And is not even close.

Fair points lads. I still don't think any manager could turn this squad in to title winners. Ratio of actual good players vs average/bums is way off.

Incredible that he is the least of our problems defensively. After these first two years with him never would have expected that... That back 4 were dreadful. Let us down badly.

There are better managers out there but anyone thinking Jose at his prime would win a title or CL with this squad and this ownership is out of their damn mind. Can anyone point out a single member of this squad, not named Reece James, as good as his equivalent in a chelsea title winner squad? I'll get a few of the obvious out of the way: Marc Cucurella, not in Ashley Coles bracket, and never will be. Moises Caicedo. As good as he is he is not at the level of any of Maka, Essien or Kante YET imo. Cole Palmer. A long way from Edens level. Maybe he gets there, maybe not. Robert Sanchez. Never will be at Petr or Tibos level. The rest don't even merit a mention. Only Reece is up there with Brana imo.

Enzo usually is up for it vs Villa. Not sure why he has it on for them but his best seems to be delivered vs them. Fofana cannot play on the left of defence and am not sure if Josh is trusted there either, but he both deserves game time and needs it. I'd have Neto go to the left, Palmer right and Enzo in the 10. Have sub Garnacho which is sometimes useful vs starter garnacho who is mostly useless. Sanchez James Acheampong Chalobah Cucurella Caicedo Santos Palmer Enzo Neto Joao Pedro

As United fans told us he is a decent sub option but poor as a starter. As he is he is a championship level winger imo. Gittens not even a league 1 level winger. Quality investment 👌

Newcastle (a) 1 point A place in the league cup semi finals, no points in the CL and dropping out of the top 8 and 5 PL points out of 12. Bad but expected because we do this same cr@p every year.
