Cédric Soares
Because he's a millionaire with the means to breeze in and out of London for whatever he wants whenever he feels like it?

Joao Cancelo
Top job, Marina. Top job! You're having a fantastic summer!

Alex Sandro
We could sign him and loan back to them.
-
Virgil Van Dijk
We're not signing him, don't worry.

Lukaku also once said that. Cried at Stamford Bridge and all that. Said Drogba was his hero. Blah blah blah. As I said, it means nothing.

That Tierney kid wouldn't be a bad signing right now.

Almost every player that signs for (insert top club) says that. Ffs Matic has just said that about United. It means nothing these days.

Claudio Marchisio
I would actually LOVE it if we signed Marchisio. Class player. Offers us a really good option when he's fit. Has worked with Conte before. Great depth and most importantly, him being 31 is an advantage for us. It means there's still a path for Loftus-Cheek (or Chalobah) if he really has a break out season at Palace to come back and become a first team player. I'd very much prefer that over signing a 25 year old tbh.

Fair enough. I think Conte didn't like how much Zouma lacked ball playing skills and how slow Terry was so Azpi was a dead cert for RCB, which is why I feel Aina was Moses' sub. Made the bench a few times too. But oh well, that's that.

Firstly, we're both CFC fans and I believe it's possible for us to have a civil debate about CFC without the tone you're portraying. It's not a fight. On to the point, at least you do agree that we're notorious for not giving players a chance....which only strengthens the point I was making. If a player is out of form/underperforming, you play the next guy who can do the job. I know there are coaches like Jose who are notorious for sticking to his favourite players but after the 3-0 loss to Arsenal and Conte's shake up (along with his history in Italy of shaking up that squad as well), I assumed Conte was of this mindset. Unless of course he didn't rate the player who was on the bench or to put it more politely, "wanted more from them". It's the reason he kept playing Costa despite Costa's disgustingly poor form at one point. Imo, Michy was even worse in training and was completely clueless. Granted Michy has improved since then but he's still nowhere near Chelsea starter material. Same reason I think he kept playing Matic despite Matic's poor form too at some point. There was nothing Matic was offering between February to May of last season that Chalobah couldn't offer yet he didn't play Nate and we ended up losing him to Watford. I don't care about the "oh Conte tried to make him stay" story that's been spun since. Can't blame the lad for leaving. If Conte truly rated him, he would have given him more minutes on the pitch last year, especially when Matic was poor. 1 game a week or not. That's the case I'm making for Aina there too. Moses was actually quite poor in a few matches. If he kept playing despite all of that, it was likely because Conte didn't like the next replacement. Conte would have played Azpi and then Pedro ten times over at RWB before playing Aina. My mistake on the PL minutes for Aina btw. He was a teenager at the start of the season but his birthday is in October so he doesn't quite fall into the "teenager minutes" bracket (of which we had zero) for us last season. I do remember him coming on in one of the early matches in that 13 game win streak at the tail end of the match. Bread crumbs. Not sure why you've mentioned Tammy. Conte had zero input into Tammy's Championship loan last season. Tammy was off before Conte even resumed if I'm not mistaken. And his PL loan (along with Brown & Palmer) is probably down to Emenalo, not Conte.

Aina's age has absolutely nothing to do with his talent level. Wasn't Rashford 18 when he broke out at United? Or Shaw at Southampton? Or even Mbappe at Monaco? That's even going too far. But anyway, you get the point. Talent is talent, age means absolutely nothing if you actually rate the player enough to give him a chance. Michy played because Morata's fitness level is behind the rest of the squad. Don't kid yourself. Michy will be riding the bench every time Morata is fit and rested this season. We played in the league cup and the FA Cup too, you know. And even got to the FA Cup final. The point isn't about how available Moses was. As I pointed out earlier, Moses was burnt out towards the end of the season. It was clear to everyone that his form had dropped compared to the first half of the season and understandably so as he was playing in a very tasking position for the first time and playing it week in week out. Aina could have gotten a shout here and there. Aina had ZERO minutes in the PL last season. Personally, I don't really rate him that highly either tbh. I think Tomori is a better talent and looks more confident. Just pointing out to you that Conte doesn't rate him. And apparently, most PL teams don't rate him either. We sent 5 players on loan to PL teams and sold 2 more, no one came knocking for Aina. I don't think he has a future at Chelsea.

I think Aina got even less playing time than RLC last season. We almost ran Moses into the ground last season and he was clearly burnt out towards the end of the season but Aina never got a look in. Conte even preferred to play Pedro there ahead of Aina. That's how you know.

I'm just going to assume you've had a long day.

There is no scenario where CFC come out of deadline day having THREE players to play RWBs (Moses/Candreva/Aurier). That's just not happening. Why splash 30 odd mil on Candreva when we can get Cancelo (young, high ceiling, an actual RB) for less? Conte doesn't rate Aina one bit so don't even mention him lol. I'm going to try to stay away from transfer stories to the best of my abilities until the window closes. I've done my head in worrying too much about our transfer business this summer and getting disappointed most of the time.

So we're after Candreva AND after Aurier/Cancelo/etc as well? I think not.

Candreva
And exactly what proof do you have that Conte actually wants him for a wing back spot rather than his natural forward position? Where are you getting that from?

Candreva
I just don't get why on earth we need a bang average 30 year old winger from an average Serie A side. From what I've heard from Serie A fans, he's a headless chicken who makes awful decisions and will cross the ball to absolutely no one in the box and on his best day, he's decent. What exactly does he offer that Musonda/Boga can't offer? I'm so confused. How exactly does this signing comply with Conte's recent "building for the future" comments? I mean, if we were signing a 30 year old who happened to be world class, I don't think anyone would mind. But this looks like a useless deal to me. For all of Conte's qualities, he seems to be hell bent on certain weird decisions as well. Look at how Madrid have done business since 2014. They haven't signed any player above 25. Matter of fact, I don't think they've signed a player who wasn't young since they signed 27 year old Modric. Now compare all of that to signing 30 year old Candreva from 7th placed Inter Milan. Can't even have an extended period of peace of mind from Chelsea, can we?

Champions League Draw
Chelsea, PSG, Basel, Feyenoord. That's my prediction. Really don't want to meet Napoli.
-
Candreva
When was the last time we signed a 30+ year old, excluding Drogba and Eto'o?
-
Riyad Mahrez
I'd certainly take him over 30 year old Candreva.
-
Andrea Belotti
Rubbish rumour. Next.

Alex Sandro
That should be the end of the Sandro saga. Incredible that CFC couldn't find intermediaries for Sandro that would convey that information and allow us focus on other targets.
-
Alex Sandro
We didn't bid for Van Dijk, Cedric, Sergio Roberto or Chamberlain. The only players we did bid for (and has been confirmed by reputable sources) are Sandro and Drinkwater. I know it doesn't fit whatever agenda you're trying to push but at least try to be accurate.
