So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!
It's probably my anti Spurs bias but I really REALLY didn't want Poch as a manager. But now that he's here, I hope he exceeds all expectations by a country mile. His Spurs teams lacked any sort of cohones. Then again, Spurs are serial bottlers regardless of manager. And he was hardly able to sign the best players. Just hoping he's immensely successful with us.

The only midfield 3's that can compare are those of City and especially Madrid. This is all on paper, of course. Despite the money spent, what happens if Enzo gets an injury for a few weeks/months? What does our midfield look like? We don't really have anyone ready to offer 50% of what he offers. That's actually worrying, but maybe I'm reading too much into it.

This transfer window....

Reece James
Either way, something has to give. Either a long lasting surgical solution to these constant injuries, a whole new physical build or it might be time to cash in on him.
-
Reece James
He needs to have a similar surgery to the one his sister got and have these problems fixed for good, no matter how long it'll take him to recover. Not sure why he didn't do it all summer. Perhaps trying to impress the new manager? Anyway, it needs to happen.

Reece James
He needs to lose some weight. As has been said, its not that he's fat (obviously), it's just he carries too much muscle. Thighs are too thick. For the amount of running he does and how fragile he is, he needs to be leaner. Such a f**king shame though. He'll never get a chance to claim that 'best RB in the world/league' title if he can't actually be on the pitch playing regularly.

Welcome Hakim Ziyech
🤣 🤣 🤣

BlueCo buy Chelsea FC
I don't expect all the signings to work out but I think we've hedged our bets here by signing all those young, talented players we're sending out on loan. And the fact that apparently, we've saved tens of millions in wages with the squad overhaul is good to know. I imagine they have a proper plan. It's definitely a much better summer than last year (understandably so).

Following Our Nearest And Dearest Rivals 2023/24
https://arsenal-mania.com/forum/threads/chesea-fc-im-sorry-nic-jackson-ffps-real.27710/page-357 I've been having way too much fun enjoying tears of other teams' fans about our spending. It's been way too long since I got to enjoy that.

Welcome Hakim Ziyech
I sincerely hope that's true. He needs to go. Now on to Lukaku.
-
Welcome Hakim Ziyech
I'd say it's self sabotage but there's no way that Saudi club didn't at least match his Chelsea wages so I have no idea what's going on.
-
Welcome Hakim Ziyech
At this point, his contract needs to be terminated. He's either failing it on purpose or there's something seriously up with him. Either way, he needs to leave. Really, really wish we had let him go to PSG in January.

Reeks of them trying to keep the release clause a secret and then getting mad that we've found it out and want to pay exactly that. They want in on the crazy transfer fees. I can't blame them. Who wouldn't? But no one's forced them to set that release clause so they have to suck it up now. Nothing they can do about it unless we pull out. He's gone.

Romeo Lavia
I don't know why they ever comment on anything. No one gives a sh*t about City and their fans, no matter how many trophies they win. Only thing interesting about them these days is Haaland.

Romeo Lavia
Lukaku and Ziyech need to f**k off now. Sad to see CHO go but he hasn't been good enough, even for Leverkusen. What Saka is today is what I thought he'd become. It happens in football. I also thought Josh McEachran would take over from Lampard. Ultimately, it's entirely possible we can raise a further 70-100m in sales if you count Lukaku, Ziyech, CHO and possibly Chalobah and (I hope not) Gallagher.

Probably shortly after the window closes.

Romeo Lavia
Right. On to Olise and a backup GK and I think we're set.

I think with release clauses, you have to pay it upfront. It's part of why we were looking to pay more than what Enzo's release clause was so it could be amortized. I could be wrong about that but that's what I think it is.

Personally just happy we've moved on from the days of Drinkwater, Emerson and co.

Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"
I'll never not be shocked at the sudden drop in the second half of that season. Around Christmas, it looked like we were definitely winning the league.

Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"
I was listening to talk sport a couple of days ago and laughed when they said 'expecting them to go from 12th to winning the league is asking far too much, it just won't happen'. While I don't think we're ready for winning the league, it's not like we haven't done something similar recently. Won the league, finished 10th, won the league again the following season. I've made peace with the chaos over the past 10 years. Especially because it almost always comes with a bounce back season.

Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"
Even if he was in fact a boyhood Chelsea fan, no chance he saw Zola play. He was what? A year old in 2003?😂

Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"
Ultimately, United have passed down No. 7 from Cantona to Beckham to Ronaldo(and ultimately utter w**k performers like Sanchez, Di Maria and now Mount). Madrid have different iconic numbers they've passed down as well. Barca would have been justified to retire No. 10 after Ronaldinho but Messi ultimately did it justice. Etc, etc. I've rationalised it mentally and I guess it's not as big a deal in the grand scheme of things. We can only hope he somehow ends up being a bigger club legend than Zola as that would probably mean success for us.

Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"
If some crock journo tells them today that it's actually 400k/week, they'd believe it and run with that instead. Anything to make themselves feel better. Forever feeling like they're being bullied all while being media darlings.

I hear you lot. I guess I'm still a sentimental 13 year old kid. That man was Superman to me for a number of years.
