July 23, 20232 yr It's being reported we've bid around £39m for Olise and he's "seduced by the project" (amazing terminology). Thoughts? https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/chelsea-make-opening-offer-for-crystal-palaces-michael-olise/
July 23, 20232 yr We have made on offer to Palace to bring back Olise and he has agreed to rejoin. Apparently he has a 35mill release clause Edited July 23, 20232 yr by axman2526

July 23, 20232 yr Fascinated to see if this happens what the squad is. As he feels like an extra man we don't need... Maybe Sterling is brushing up on his Arabic.

July 23, 20232 yr Quality player, PL experience and crucially home grown. Pity we let him go when he was 14 , though he may not have gone on to be the player he is now if we had kept hold. Think I posted a few years ago in a thread of upcoming players under the radar and he was one of them along with Joao Pedro who played for Brighton last night.
July 23, 20232 yr Could see City being interested to replace Mahrez, so aside from the fact he's quality and could also play at #10... he's rubbish.
July 23, 20232 yr Definitely up for this. Rangy more than really pacy but eats the ground up. Quality player. Not sure what it would do to the Kudus situation. I'd like them both tbh, but we do need some experience in there as well.
July 23, 20232 yr Looks like me and Gordon Bennett saw the news at basically the same time. Any chance of a merge @cocoor @Mod?
July 23, 20232 yr Isn't his main position as a right winger? With Noni and Angelo do we really need him? Quality player but he's also just had hamstring surgery.
July 23, 20232 yr Oh man if we buy him I will be over the moon, iv’e been raving about him all season.
July 23, 20232 yr Would be great business at that price. A good season with us and his valuation instantly doubles. Also probably the confirmation that angelo will head out on loan.

Keep a couple of youth hanging around maybe, but the rest need to go. So the signing makes sense. Angelo needs time away i suspect.

I'd probably bring in another senior option and then either loan out Hall or *big gulp* sell Gallagher. We desperately need more physicality and technical proficiency in there. In no way should we be relying on 18 year olds or Gallagher if Enzo or Caiceido pick up a knock. I would also look to bring in Kudus as well, Olise can cover centrally and then Pochettino can slowly phase out Sterling and his crazy wages.
July 23, 20232 yr Tidy player. Surely we can't be signing him, Kudus and Cherki. Goalkeeper and midfield still a glaring issue and more pressing imo

Should we go for him rather than Cherki?
July 24, 20232 yr Olise and Cherki aren't even on the same planet right now. Olise steps in as a potential starter, Cherki has maybe 2-3 years to go before he can be considered a top talent for a bigger club.

Angelo is will be going on loan to Strasbourg. It was agreed ages ago, just joining us for pre season to feel integrated with the club. Think the strasbourg ceo confirmed this a while back.
