Romelu Lukaku
Levine is a propaganda peddler for Chelsea. I remember him switching his stance on Mourinho the moment he was fired. He's never not in support of the board.
-
Alexis Sanchez
They spent £100m on 3 players last summer and that was before this inflated market. They're not as tight as they used to be.

Virgil Van Dijk
Hahahaha Everton. Good one. Not happening.

Except if they delete posts, it never really goes away. People always screenshot their tweets. It will definitely come back to bite. You also need to remember that during transfers, the information is not limited to the Chelsea end. In the case of Boufasi, he gets his information from France. So we have no control over what leaks on that end. I know your first instinct is to disregard journos on Twitter because it's "Twitter" but it doesn't change the fact that they're still passing information they end up writing in the papers. It's down to you to know who's credible and who isn't. I wouldn't take anything any journo working for The Sun or The Daily Star says seriously for example. When you say "no one outside the clubs, agents and players involved actually knows anything", where do you think the info is coming from? Agents leak to the press all the time. Clubs and even players also leak to the press all the time. They're part of the leak of information, especially during transfer season. As an example, Marca is generally seen as a mouthpiece paper for Real Madrid....and that's because Madrid pass info to them all the time. Same thing with AS for Barca, Tuttosport for Juve, etc.

Some good news finally. Smells like they felt like fast tracking to make up for yesterday.

They're not claiming to be credible. They're widely regarded as credible by fans (including myself) because of their track record of reporting over the past few years and how often they've been spot on. Since I've known of him, Boufasi has never gotten anything wrong. I first knew him when he was the first to break the Martial to United story and everyone thought he was talking out his arse until it happened a few days later and all other journos were playing catch up. Di Marzio is a little more hit and miss but majority of the time, he gets it right. And Matt Law is Matt Law. Pretty much a standard English journo but recent history has proven that he does have inside sources at Chelsea that feed him info. I couldn't care less about any other journo when it comes to our transfers. I agree it's wrong to slate the board based on one story but it's not just one story, it's making the rounds this morning and much like some of the negative press we've gotten over the past 2 years (player mutiny, Jose firing, Costa bust up with Conte), if it's in almost every outlet, chances are that it's probably mostly true.

Andrea Conti
Ah that explains. Apologies. I'll be sure to come to you when I want to find out anything about the player.

There's this thing called looking at information from very credible sources. Mohamed Boufasi who's by far the most reliable journo when it comes to transfers, especially those involving Ligue 1 and French players, confirmed that Bakayoko turned down Man United in favour of us. Di Marzio (who's a little less credible than Boufasi but still up there) and others like Matt Law of the Telegraph (who's more reliable than most on Chelsea info) also confirmed it. Maybe my glasses aren't so blue tinted and I don't bother to twist myself in a knot trying to make excuses for the board. As if the club would come out and say anything that doesn't paint them in a good light. I quoted a particular part of that article for a reason. I don't care for anything else written there. But the Monaco bit has been reported by multiple outlets. Usually when that happens, there's truth to it. The club's activity in the market hasn't proven it wrong either. Getting complacent with the Lukaku deal and letting United swoop in was incredibly stupid as well. But I won't be surprised if you try to spin that one into a "oh he wasn't our first target anyway". You need to try to be objective sometimes.

Andrea Conti
You talked to him personally?
-
Daniel Sturridge
Daniel Sturridge? Main striker? Someone who's not good enough for Liverpool is somehow good enough to lead our line? Is this a joke?
-
Andrea Conti
I never said we're going to sign him. I'm not a prophet. But saying we have "no chance" is absurd. There are only few players we have "no chance" of signing. Lewandowski is one, and Bayern made that very clear and released a statement too and what not. Juve's stance (comments from their club president) are "we rejected a very good bid but we won't stand in his way if he wants to leave". Again, if that translates to "no chance" for you then that's your problem.
-
Andrea Conti
A flagrantly wrong statement. We were never even in for Conti in the first place, meanwhile, we've made bids for Sandro even though they've been rejected. Sandro deal depends on the player himself pushing for the move. That's a bit different from "no chance", isn't it?

This is a tired point of view that was rehashed over and over 2 summers ago as well as last summer. In fact we've only had 2 good summer windows in the past 7 years (Cesc + Costa, Hazard) if I'm not mistaken. "Oh there's still one month before the season starts" changes into "oh there's still a week left" and "the transfer window doesn't close until August 31st, there's still time". It's an old and tired point now. Not to mention we're missing the opportunity of letting the new signings go on pre-season with the rest of the team and get used to our system in time for the start of the season so we can hit the ground running. But ah it's all just impatient fans, I guess.
-
Tiémoué Bakayoko
I find this point of view quite silly. How is wanting the best for your club being "spoilt"?
-
Tiémoué Bakayoko
What exactly, in your opinion, is the reason Bakayoko (and Rudiger) hasn't been confirmed? Are we waiting for another kit launch? There's actually no one else competing for his signature except us. So what's the reason? It's a month to preseason and we've only signed Big Willy. Don't act like fans are being impatient with the same board that f**ked up in the summer of 2010 AND the summer of 2015 after winning titles. They don't seem to have learnt. If you have some great new insight on this, I'd love to hear it.

Andrea Conti
Conti already signed for Milan so I reckon that one's not going to happen. :)

Andrea Conti
Conti was never coming here. Was always bound for Milan.

Apparently, Monaco getting frustrated with the deal as it's being held up by Chelsea until Matic is sold. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4672802/Chelsea-boss-Antonio-Conte-s-grand-plan-torn-apart.html The state of our board................

Romelu Lukaku
Which is weird because they made a 75m bid for Pogba 2 years ago when such bids weren't even common. They're definitely going to have to pay between 63m(PEA) and 88m(Belotti) to get a quality striker so they have no choice. Chalobah will be sold to Watford with a buy back clause. You just watch.
-
Diego "the guv'nor" Costa
Could have been Costa's camp who leaked it deliberately. And since it's coming from Matt Law, it could even have come from the club directly.
-
Romelu Lukaku
The names you mentioned are the only names available in the market who could do a job for us. And not just "a job" but THE job we want done to compete for the league and CL. Some random average striker won't get us far. We all saw what having sh*t strikers did to us in 13/14 when we could have won the league. Agree with your post except for that last paragraph.
-
Romelu Lukaku
Would make a very good backup striker.
-
Tiémoué Bakayoko
I think you're being a little dramatic. Costa also had a calf problem history before he joined us. Probably a good 20-25% of players in football have some sort of injury history, no matter how small. If you have a good medical team, you'll be fine.

When last did we pay "stupid money" for anyone? Last time that happened was 2011. 6 years ago. Not sure what point you're making. We've hardly had any deals over 32m since then. - Romelu Lukaku
