Not if she needed Roman to bail her out. You don't get a pat on the back for turning your homework in at 11:59, especially if your mate helped you work out the right answers.

I don't remember any WC winner in my lifetime that didn't have their fair share of luck. You almost never win the WC without some luck.

Nope. It was a 4-3-3 for most of the match. And sometimes a 4-3-2-1. They only switched to 5-3-2/3-5-2 in little spurts of the match. That was the whole point of bringing Fellaini in alongside Witsel. To push De Bruyne further forward.

I've made peace with the fact that it's going to be Suffer-ball next season. If we finish higher than 6th, I'll be happy.

Make of it what you will. Could be legit. Could be another version of '48 hours'.- Next Chelsea Manager
If you believe we're going to sign Sarri for free then you don't know how much of a dick ADL is. We're gonna pay something.- Next Chelsea Manager
You'd have to ask Marina that. I'm not sure what she was trying to prove to ADL or to Roman with that silly move.- Next Chelsea Manager
You can't stick it to him when you're trying to buy from him and he holds all the leverage. You can tell him to f**k off (after wasting his time) if he comes for one of your players though.- Next Chelsea Manager
Worst owner to deal with in world football. MUCH worse than Levy. At least Levy tells you he doesn't want to sell and usually means it unless you meet a high fee he sets. ADL tells you he wants 5m today and even if you agree to pay it tomorrow, if he wakes up tomorrow and the wind hits his skin differently, he'll say he wants 10m now. Absolute f**king bellend. He's lucky he's a cheap bastard and doesn't have any plans of buying players from other top clubs. I'm sure there's a lot of club executives who would love to stick it to him.- Next Chelsea Manager
It's not like Emery is guaranteed to waltz into CL money even now. I'm sure they'd have loved to give Wenger one last season to do a farewell tour. Their board were already on thin ice with their fans. Probably since 2013 at least.- Next Chelsea Manager
If we go into the season with Conte, the odds of losing Hazard and Courtois dramatically increase.- Next Chelsea Manager
I get what you're saying but you can't claim no one knows what's going on while also claiming Roman hasn't made the money available. You don't know that for sure. No one does. How does it make sense that we're being heavily linked with players that cost over €25m, €30m, and in Jorginho's case over €55m but we're finding it difficult to pay €8m for Sarri? We've thrown money like that about to buy players like Djilobodji and co whom we didn't need several times. Baba Rahman cost twice that. Zappacosta, a bang average player cost 3 times that. We just bought Barkley in January for £15m when we could have gotten him for free this summer and we didn't even need him either. So when you put all these circumstances together, it doesn't make sense to say Roman hasn't made €8m available to sign a manager whom he clearly wants (otherwise, we'd have been on to someone else weeks ago). Anyway, I'm as confused as anyone and I'm actually quite irritated tbh. Even if we end up appointing Sarri, I don't think anyone should expect much from him this season. Our best players aren't even gonna join the squad for a while, some of them are still at the WC. We have only 3 pre-season matches and the season starts August 11th, if I'm not mistaken. This is despite the fact that Sarri's brand of football takes a while to adapt to. Brace yourselves for a tough season ahead.- Next Chelsea Manager
I don't know who's said that and whoever did is clearly wrong. Don't make it seem like it's a fairly popular opinion though. That's an unfair mischaracterization.- Thibaut Courtois
Don't know about Van Der Sar but you don't recall Cech getting beaten at the near post time and time again? It even got worse post 2011.- Next Chelsea Manager
Couldn't have said it better. Fans ALWAYS matter in football. Real, Barca & Bayern are probably top 3 clubs in the world and they wouldn't dare act this way towards their fans, especially Real & Barca where the fans elect the club presidents. Even United wouldn't do this. Arsenal as stubborn, as they are, let go of Wenger earlier than they wanted to because of their fans - and rightly so. The problem here isn't appointing a new manager. You just can't have the club in limbo like this so close to the season. Players like Tammy Abraham and co have been back even earlier than the rest of the squad and having a set manager would have benefited them a lot as he'd have had time to assess them going into next season. This is an absolute mess. It's why I was hoping we could get our business done as soon as the season was over and when I said it at the time on here, I was attacked for being impatient and what not. Well maybe those same posters prefer the current situation then.- Next Chelsea Manager
Ehhhhh of course this was going to rear its head. How about we're just tired of confusing decisions by the club? When it was Emenalo in charge of certain moves, some of you lot claimed racism when he caught criticism. How is it that when Marina was the darling of pretty much every Chelsea fan from the Hazard transfer until Mourinho 2.0's second year her gender wasn't a factor but now that she's at the forefront of some of a lot of these decisions, she can't take criticism because of her gender? Come on, that's ridiculous. We haven't had a DOF for 8 months and atm still don't even look close to appointing one. The board have known pretty much since January that they didn't want Conte to continue yet here we are 2 seconds away from pre-season. No transfer has even been completed. When the Costa and Fabregas deals were wrapped up quickly before the last WC started, the board got a lot of praise, specifically Marina. If you can take praise then you should be able to take criticism. She's the only recognisable face making decisions for the club apart from Roman. You shouldn't be surprised she's being criticised. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen or heard Chelsea fans criticise Roman in the past 15 years and rightly so. There really isn't much basis for laying much if any blame at Roman's feet. It's always been down to those he gave the responsibility of running the day to day affairs of the club. Why should Roman have to get involved in transfer deals AFTER making the money available?- Thibaut Courtois
Understandable considering his height. He's one of the tallest footballers in the world, probably in the top 5% in height if I had to guess. As a 6'6 GK, harder to go down as quickly as a 6'3 or 6'4 GK for that kind of shot. It's the same sort of problem a 6'4 CB would face when dealing with short and quick players like Hazard (or Messi) versus a CB who's about 5'11 or 6'0. You take what you can get. That height, as stated above, also gives him a rare advantage over almost every GK in the world when it comes to aerial balls, which is also important.- Next Chelsea Manager
Didn't he already get an Israeli citizenship to work around his VISA issues or something like that?- Next Chelsea Manager
It'll be sad at the end of Eden Hazard's career with us when we look back and wish we had made better decisions and taken full advantage of his talent. Imagine if we had those regrets about Lamps and JT.- Next Chelsea Manager
Who do you think the PR department takes orders from at the moment? Or do we have a DOF no one knows about? What a silly thing to say. Even Bruce Buck has hardly reared his head the past few years.- Next Chelsea Manager
Yep. He was right. As much as his whinging was WAY over the top and got quite irritating at some point, it doesn't take away from the message. We need a total overhaul. I would be glad to see the end of Marina at CFC but sadly, that's not happening thanks to Roman. This is what happens when you hand the keys over to someone who knows a A LOT about business and ZERO about football.- Next Chelsea Manager
Then they need to come out and f**king say it and squash all of the Sarri rumours. This silly uncertainty is highly unhealthy for the club. WTF is wrong with Marina???- Next Chelsea Manager
I know some of you always try to act like all is well and the rest of us are panicking for no reason but surely NO ONE can be comfortable with the way things have gone this summer? Especially considering the way the season ended? 42 days gone in the summer transfer window, 37 days to go. That's more than half of the summer gone and preseason about to start and we still don't know what's happening with our manager. If we're going into the season with Conte then come out and say so and let the players know so we know exactly what we're doing and get whatever new players we want to get in. If we're getting Sarri then pay whatever it is we need to pay and get this nonsense wrapped up as soon as possible. What is this f**king mess???? I swear Marina's reign at the top has been utterly disastrous. Even if we end up getting Sarri in now in a few days, a lot of time he would have spent in preparation for the team has been wasted and that could be detrimental to the way we start next season. Especially when you consider that his philosophy of football is not one you can adopt very easily and will need time. Marina looked a lot better when she was only in charge of negotiations. Now that she has nobody to tell her to speed things up, she must be feeling like she needs to win a big ego contest with De Laurentis over f**king €8m. Half of what we paid for players like Baba Rahman in our sleep. A third of what we paid for a scrub like Zappacosta who's about to be binned again at a loss. 8 f**king million is what Marina is foolishly trying to derail our season over before it even starts. But I digress. I'm just a know nothing ungrateful millenial who has no clue about what's really going on behind closed doors at the club afterall.- Next Chelsea owner
It does prove what we've been telling rival fans for years though. They never thought Roman would last 15 years and in his 15th year he's rejecting such handsome offers. If/when he does decide to sell, he won't be short of offers. From suitors much wealthier than him too. Didn't he also turn down a Saudi family years ago? He has done all of the heavy lifting already and we're an established global brand now. But as someone said, his interests with owning Chelsea go beyond money. I wonder if there's more to it than his love of football. Edit: Makes you wonder why he didn't offer to buy Spurs - Next Chelsea Manager
