  1. What is required now is an interim interim

I think if you look at the recent history of the Russian Aluminium industry that's an understatement
  3. The trouble is that with every twist and crazy, rushed decision, any decent managers who may need a year or so to get their squad together will be put off. Guardiola seems like the sort of guy who would not wish to be sacked after a few bad games, why would he choose us over a more stable equivalent. It is however and extremely attractive option for anyone wishing to make a fast buck. Sign a three contract, have a bad run and a massive pay-off for failing, far better than sticking out the three years for the same money. AVB has now got a job and a fat bank balance (RM, Ancellotti, Hiddink, Ranieri, Avram, Scolari have all got fat bank balances from us and decent jobs also because many others don't see them as complete failure, RDM will be joining them shortly). God knows what we've paid out over the last 1o years in signing on fees, wages and pay-offs but I'll bet it's cleared a few mortgages.
  4. This is a matter of principle, the results are irrelevant
  5. I think it's about time we showed that we are not to be ignored, i think because we've rolled over to be tickled a few times that this appears to be how we are and we will remain silent and put up. I think not.
  6. Sacking RDM was the single most unpopular mangerial decision I've witnessed in my lifetime, regardless of Benitez, which just rubbed it in. How RA, who craved the CL, sacked the man who dragged this club from the dead to win it still beggars belief, not only that he was a proven hero who had stepped in at a time of need. Still cannot take it in.
  7. I'll tell you one thing about that period, it was a time when we were surrounded by good teams and great players, almost every team could be appreciated (except Leeds), Arsenal won the double, Liverpool and Everton won the league, Spurs and West Ham were good but won nothing, City were exceptional, Utd won the EC, Derby were on the way up, WBA and Wolves were decent as were Stoke, and Leeds, although the biggest team, were universally hated. Even Celtic were decent. The post world cup years were the best and Chelsea had a golden period there with Sexton.
  8. I don't think we've much to be worried about, the word interim means something to him and the club, he's been brought in to shake things up, get a place in the CL and polish his CV up for a job he wants himself. There will be a massive managerial merry go round in the summer, what you need to have is a clean slate in May to get first choice. On the one side; Clubs that will be looking for Managers Real Madrid Chelsea City Arsenal (possibly) Barcelona (possibly) Inter Milan Utd (possibly) Liverpool (possibly) Valencia Managers that will be looking for Clubs Mourinho Pep Benitez Wenger (possibly) Boas (probably again) Mancini Di Matteo That's just where we are now and what might be reasonable to expect, others will fail or give up by then
  9. Same for me, it was the Blue (Black) socks that swung it
  10. No problems, when I mean just a club I mean the pre-Ranieri/Vialli days when winning the PL looked like a dream. We all know there are only four places at the table these days and that with PSG and Anzhi and others joining the big money then the gap between the top clubs and everyone else is widening, The last 10 years has built enough support to ensure we could function at a high level, much the same as Arsenal but would have to operate in a different way. I am sure JM would love to manage the club free from interference and I think he'd relish the personal challenge of doing it without splashing the cash (which I am certain he could do).
  11. First started supporting Chelsea after the 1967 cup final, didn't get to watch live until a few years later against West Brom
  12. The trouble is we tolerate it because of the money, there would be a full campaign to rid him from the club if he was anyone else. Us fans, do a good impression of a crack-ho, we need our fix of success so bad so the way the money comes in does not matter so we tolerate what we know to be wrong. Question is would you go back to being just a club without a wealthy backer? We may not like Rafa but it is 100% Abramovich that he's there, we've targeted Benitez but let RA get away mostly with suggested displeasure at his decision, not him. We've rolled over before, Mourinho being the best example, and we've doing it again really.
