  1. Apalling to think that had we beat Sunderland and Norwich at home (come on, not that hard) we'd now be 4 points clear and need to beat Cardiff to win the league. I know everyone knows this but when you look at the table and consider that Cardiff are now dead it just makes you shudder.
  2. Liverpool have no money, the extra £20m or so they pick up next year will not be enough to buy the players that will keep them going CL and PL. They will fall away, City will get stronger, unfortunately we've opened the door to them and, with a title and cup in his first season, all clubs, including us, will have to finish above them in the future to win anything. Their set-up in Manchester is immense, they are around for some time.
  3. Embarrassing, in a game where 1 goal would keep us in the title race (just) and after a season like we've had, shows no respect for players or club.
  4. Ba's confidence was up and you could see that on sunday, the Eto substitution was an error, felt like it at the time and hindsight makes it that much more obvious.
  5. The last two windows must have been the worst transfer windows for buying strikers in living memory. Liverpool and United bought no-one, Negredo looked half decent for a while, Spurs bought sh*te and ourselves and Arse looked scared stiff of buying anyone despite the money being there (We spent c£110m this season). It has cost us and Arsenal dear this year as either club, with a decent striker would be 10 points better off right now.
  6. Yeah right, like he gives a f**k what tha fans think, kidding yourself
  7. Hitler built decent motorways (don't take that the wrong way)
  8. It is, at this moment in time, the conclusion of a business deal and the parties will part after the contract is finished. As mentioned, those that engineered the business deal, in the face of the wishes of the fans, are still there.
  9. What I meant was we finished 6th last year, couldn't work out where the unthinkable came from. Robbie, for all we love the lad, never finished in the top four.
  10. He's quick thinking enough to make it look like he didn't mean it for the cameras, just like Real and the face clapping. Loads of people in here re-editing their posts I suspect
  11. People talk about managers like Klopp but why would someone wish to leave a safe steady job like that and take Chelsea on knowing that a few bad games and you are out with your reputation tarnished. The only people who want this job now are people who see it as a pay bonanza. We've moved into 'supply-manager' territory, I suspect the next advert will go in a temps agency. The Board need to know they are not off the hook once Benitez goes.
  12. Of course there is the possibility that had AVB stayed we would, just as we did, have gone on to win the CL and FA cup and then he is sacked after a couple of bad games early this season, doubtful yes, but how many people expected RDM to get sacked?
  13. But we all know why we tolerate it. Just pause for a second and imagine how the decision to sack Robbie would have been greeted if Randy Lerner or someone like that owned the club.
  14. To be fair that's Roman's normal face. There will be a face, possibly seen by aluminimum smelting plant managers some years ago, that will be indicative of imminent change.
  15. Sorry, don't agree. Roman's been playing us. We'll be happy when Benitez goes but he'll have got away with sacking RDM which stinks.
  16. As for the we've won comments, I'm not so sure because RDM remains sacked so who really won? We're celebrating the fact that we are now in exactly the same position the day after RDM went (assuming Benitez goes in the morning), I don't call that victory, even if it is progress.
  17. And when he goes, which will possibly be sooner than later, we will celebrate as if nothing now is wrong and the board which sacked the manager who won the CL will get away with that act because of the relief of the fans and the promise of a new dawn. If RDM had stayed and had a reasonable season how would we have reacted at his sacking at the end of the year to make way for what is obviously a planned appointment, be it Jose or otherwise (it might have been Pep, it could be someone else) Would we have accepted RDM being sacked for Jose if he'd done OK this year? Now the problem is no longer there and the sacking of RDM will be forgotten because of the events since then
  18. Now is the time to make as much noise as possible. I, for one, beleive that we are being played. I think the ownership of this club knows exactly what it is doing and is contemptuous of the fans. Benitez was always a short term option who is here because Roman's true intentions could not be met last year and must wait until this summer. A convenient opportunity to undertake some changes that we all know have been discussed at the club for some years and deflect the heat away from the owners/managers. By the time this year ends we will be so grateful Benitez has gone that we will accept anything, do we want to be treated to shabbily, why do we have to wait until others think it time for us to have what we demand. This club treats its fans (and RDM) like sh*t, noise required.
  19. Don't you see that Roman has managed to deflect all the heat off himself for the decisions that everyone knew were being talked about in the club well before this season. When all this dies down we'll no longer have some players and Benitez but we'll be so relieved no-one will have noticed what has happened. I seriously think this is more planned than we believe. This is not a man who got where he is today by stumbling around in the dark hoping things would work out well.
  20. What makes you think Benitez is selecting Torres, remember one of the reasons Mourinho left (Shevchenko)
  21. There was a moment when Dave Sexton was in charge when everything was just right
  22. I would blame the management of the club a) for letting him go b) for letting him go to United Remember Ferguson a few years ago refused to sell one his players to a rival club
  23. Club legend, born 1978, has appropriate and deserved end to loyal club career. a) Jamie Carragher b) Frank Lampard
  24. So not only did he cheat on her, he paid someone for the privilege..... Let's face it, he is one of the few footballers that still has the necessity to pay, poor woman
