How would Lamps be viewed if he did go to United?

Excellent rant on everything that is wrong at Chelsea
Carlo was class, it just reminds you that, for Roman, second is no-where and that past success counts for nothing. I think we've had four managers removed within 12 months, often less, of what most people would regard as success. Very rarely has that been followed by significant improvement. In truth, despite the CL win, we are a weaker club than when Mourinho was here and although some of the appointments have improved things, it is usually when that change follows the removal of one of Roman's miracle cures where there was no illness. Our win % figures are telling Mourinho 67% sacked Grant 67% sacked Scolari 56% sacked Hiddink 73% left Ancellotti 61% sacked Villas Boas 48% sacked RDM 57% sacked Benitez 47% soon to be sacked And just as an indictment of everything that is wrong with the way Roman rules the roost Just look at the equivalent win % figures for these two characters Ferguson at United 59.8% Pailsey at Liverpool 56.1% They'd both of been out sharpish being in Scolari territory

Excellent rant on everything that is wrong at Chelsea
If we thought the problems started with Rafa we are kidding ourselves. Shevchenko, RDM (reluctant appointment and subsequent dismissal), Mourinho's departure, Torres, Wilkins, Benitez's appointment and continued presence, Avram's dismissal when he was a slip away from RDMs success (whatever you think of him), There are more but you get the idea. This is a club run on a kneejerk basis with owners favourites and no place for dissenters. Fans must put up or shut up and success and money, have, in the main, meant put up. If we were top of the league now and still in the CL/LC with Benitez many fans would probably have accepted it regardless of principles or objections. Only when Roman's petulant decision making starts to lead to failure (as recently) will fans start to seriously object. Principles get eaten up by cash and success and that applies to any club.

Are you a ‘True Blue’?
Bad times as well as good times, I'm pretty sure crowds are higher than when we were in the 2nd tier, if we ever went back they'd drop again. The ones who disappear do not fit with the description

Difficult for us but this is the heart of the issue, we only really love him for his money and everyone knows that,

Eden v Ballboy
Daily sh*te Teenager 'does stupid thing' to annoy brutal Belgian, exclusive Charlie Morgan bravely spoke from his hospital bed last night as he recovered from a horrifying ordeal at the hands of an out of control Belgian. The brave lad, who had given up his evening caring for his granny, to respond to an emergency call for the little welsh club on their big night. "The Chelsea player looked really cold" stuttered brave Charlie from his bed, "so I thought I would warm the ball up for him with my body, the next thing I knew he was trying to kill me. Evil Hazard, from La Louvière, Belgiium, a town not too far from the birthplace of Marc Dutroux, the noted child killer and sex molester, brutally assaulted the poor boy wiithout conscience in an attempt to reach the Carling Cup final where he would receive a significant financial bonus. After the game he showed how little he was concerned by not compensating the family with some of his excess cash. Eden Hazard is belgian which is near where Luis Suarez used to play and the same country as violent thug Marouane Fellaini Eden is expected to be executed Charlie Morgan likes puppies and kittens or something like that

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
If we were trying to unload Torres this window it's a tricky one, leave him out and all buyers will assume he's sh*t and offer low, play him and he's crap and the same will happen, play him and get a lucky break and he scores or even, surprise, surprise, plays well then we might see someone taking a punt. Sensible thing would be to bring him on once a game is won (you'd have thought 2-0 against Southampton might fit this normally) in the hope, without pressure, he can convinve enough for someone to buy him on the strength of reputation and apparent 'form'. Otherwise we are stuck with a player who's keeping two players off our fair play wage bill and decreasing by the day in value.
-
Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
How much influence does Roman have in terms of ensuring Torres 'gets a game'? Benitez signed Ba but we've assumed that the regular selection of Torres that has applied all too often when he's been out of form (which it used to be, this is the third manager who has played him when no-one else thought sensible) is nothing now to with RA because they are both scouse tainted spaniards Why the obsession from RA with him. Is it ever so slightly dodgy?

Excellent although the Kill him segment is all too real (aluminium) and the safe element is way to big

Don't worry, just 8 more home games (plus whatever the cups adds to that) to endure before the new manager, that's survivable. He's not going to ditch him now.
-
Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
I'm really confused these days, there's so many of our fans who want us to lose (whatever they say) that I can almost feel the disappointment when we win. It's almost the same with Torres, on the rare occasions he scores then we don't know how to celebrate it because we know it increases his chances of playing more games. He's finished as a player at this club, nothing will give him back the confidence he used to have, all we can watch now is his price dropping, surely someone, somewhere, with money, has not noticed, please.
-
Lowest home crowd since Jan 2007
I'm sure he's a patient man, hopefully won't be another 40 years before he gets the chance 'He doesn't really care if we win or lose', not sure what that means though.
-
Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
We might lose by dumping Torres but we are shelling out c£10m a year for nothing at the moment.
-
IF Lamps goes...
Cole, Terry and Lampard will cost c£22m a year in wages, that's the issue, the only issue that the board are interested in.
-
Protest
That really will shake things up, I'd be rattled if I made am unpopular decision and someone waved a hankie. There's only 1 home game before 4 away so little opportunity but clapping and waving hankies never changed much.

In one, trouble is some supporters won't admit this because we are hooked like junkies on his cash. Very rare is the man with principles and money, you can buy souls you know.

We need to ponder our next managerial appointment very carefully...
Pep was never coming, he's a decent man and why would he choose to work under an owner whose record on managers is close to his record in relation to Aluminium plant managers (although they lost their lives instead of a fat payoff). German football is the way things are going, watch this space, patience and prudence and they'll be the next dominant league, trust me. Trouble is, if we wish to emulate that and avoid the rich man's toy image then things like the Lampard and Cole issue get difficult because £22m wages for a 33 year old for three years is the stuff of the billionaire club, it's our choice, or at least it should be.
-
We need to ponder our next managerial appointment very carefully...
Just for info Under Benitez, Chelsea win %, home, 22%, away 88%, should be easier at home. Not sure what's doing this but there is a bit of a pattern emerging. After Arsenal we've got 4 away games on the bounce. I think it's not just the results, Nordsjaelland and Villa are sh*te but QPR, Soton and Fulham ain't much better.

Excuses excuses
He never wanted RDM in the first place, winning the CL was an inconvenience in a way, despite it being the reason for him being here. Trouble is they don't look at players anything other than assets and liabilities Ba is £7m cost with running costs of x and re-sale value of £15-20m now, he's an asset Terry, whilst zero capital cost with a running cost of £7.5m a year and no value, to the club he's a liability This is clear the decks time.
-
Excuses excuses
Well if he's going then having Benitez to fire the bullets just before he goes himself would be most helpful, you'll notice that the big clubs have stopped spending silly money these days and that reflects the fair play. I think he'd sell him but doubt anyone would buy him although there is some funny money out in places like China.
-
Excuses excuses
Not if he's seen too much in a number 16 shirt he won't, he'll be 33 next season, costing £7.5m a year and the injuriies are kicking in more regularly. Under the fair play sh*te every highly paid player is keeping another out regardless of the money you've got.

Excuses excuses
Abramovich knows exactly what he's doing, he wants to take some unpopular decisions (some more that is), he's already worked out who will take the hit for these, he's got his very own human shield because he started with a target drawn on him on day one. I'd be very surprised if terry or lampard are here on day one next year. You don't go from zero to £8.4bn by being nice or stupid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_Abramovich
