He is just second or third joice in Madrid!

And might be willing to move on.

I know him from the Bundesliga and he was one of the stars there, he could be a good player for us, cause he is exactly that what we need! A propper number 10, a very good playmaker!

but you all know him, so i don t need to introduce him!

I jsut wonder why there is not already a topic about him!?

I would like to see him at the bridge!?

What about the others?

PS.: Sorry for my bad english

If, come summer, we are serious about renewing the team and we decide to strip off some old players like Deco, Ballack and Malouda, then he would be an excellent option and I would love to have him.

Madrid, however, might not be willing to sell, especially to us with regard to the Robinho saga. But if they are, we could probably get him for a decent price ( I remember they bought him for a laughably small sum of money ).

I am rather surprised to hear he is 3-4 choice there. He is surely a much better player than that.

Yes mate, i don t understand it either, caus he is a good player, i red yesterday that Hamburg wants him back.

But he is not willing to move to Hamburg, cause he wants a top club.

Madrid payed 10 mil for him, and now he is just on the bench, and he is not happy about it, but i think that there is something with the manager, but i am not sure!

I dont really know why he has slipped there either, but I think its to do with the return of Sneijder to the lineup. But before that, van der Vaart had bagged his usual number of goals and had looked right at home in that lineup. I dont think they ever needed him anyway, but I couldnt understand exactly why nobody else was bothered when he went there on a pittance. Alot of teams can use a player like him, especially at that age.

I would certainly take him, especially if Guus stays and rights the ship, and I think if those things happen, he could be eager to get here where he can play almost anywhere up front, as well as behind the strikers in midfield to give frank some reprieve. But I wouldnt pay anything close to what Madrid did. I dont want to help them turn a quick dime, even if we do get van der Vaart

With Calderon gone, dealing with Real might be easier for us. My hope is that in the summer we offer Madrid up a decent amounf for Raphael Van der Vaart and Jans Klaas Huntelaar, I think both of them would be great, and if Hiddink was in charge they may want to come and play for him.

If we sell the players we have spoken about....malouda, deco, ballack, drogba, then we should have more than enough money for the two of them....and maybe some towards Aguero or Villa

What makes you think they'd sell a player they only recently bought, who has started to settle in to the side? VDV isn't getting games over there, but Klaas is (isn't he gonna be Ruud's replacement?), so I doubt we'd get him

Would love Van Der Vaart, has been my one wishful signing since I'd first seen him. If he's not playing then who knows, but I won't get my hopes up.

More of a pipe-dream Oblivion, but I suppose we are allowed to do that in the Rumours forum. If we were to get rid of Drogba, then we would need a new striker. KJH has only just started getting some games, whereas we could offer him immediate starting time, maybe. Anyway, as I said, it is merely a pipe-dream, and I think that it could be possible for them to want and come play for Hiddink....again, that is assuming that he sticks around!

Heh, 'spose we could. ::ChELSeAFaN::

For those in the know.....what is VDV's best position? I know he isn't the fastest, but is a good technician. So who'd he be replacing? Use a 3-man midfield as a basis.

To the best of my knowledge about his time at Hamburg, he was in the "hole" behind the strikers there, and thrived in that role. I think he played there and as a supporting striker for Ajax.

At Madrid he has been behind the stirkers, but also played out wide on the wings ofa five man midfield early in the year. When, actually, he was excellent. At that point, he was the direct replacement for Sneijder, and had a freer role in attack, whereas he has since gone to the bench, and is now often coming on to directly fill a position. But he really carried Madrid's attack in the early going. And he was so free scoring, I dont know why they put him on the bench.

Don't we already have a few players in that position already?

Unless of course we plan to sell Deco (no real loss there IMO), won't there be TOO much competition for places?

Slightly off topic, but what's the status with Ballack's contract? Are we renewing. Relevance in terms of even MORE competition for places.

Van der Vaart is a great player, he's playing superb from day 1 at Madrid. But Ramos doesn't let van der Vaart play. Too bad that such a good player as van der Vaart can't play. The problem for van der Vaart is that Madrid won 9 matches in a row, so why would Ramos change his line-up? Tonight at the Champions League game vs Liverpool Ramos let van der Vaart warm-up for 45 straight minutes in the 2nd half, for nothing. Instead of replacing Marcello for van der Vaart, what would have been a perfect choice, he instead replaced Marcello for Guti. Guti played an awfull match... So i think things are starting to get intersting for other clubs at the moment, wouldn't been suprised if he's gonna leave Real next season. Martin Jol (ex. Tottenham coach wich they fired for apperently performing too well in the PL, and whos now 1st in the german Bundesliga with HSV  ) said that they will try to get him back next season if van der Vaart will quit at Real. But i think he's not going back so maybe Chelsea has a good chance, especialy with dutch coach Guus Hiddink (and believe this, Hiddink will stay at Chelsea next season, too many interviews on dutch TV are confirming for me that he's gonna stay if everything will work out well at Chelsea)

Also don't forget, that if Chelsea would buy van der Vaart, they will also get Sylvie van der Vaart. She's like the dutch Victoria Beckham, but instead of a ugly skinny chick Sylvie is hot as hell

Just look at this:

I can't believe he didnt get a minute on the pitch when Real was chasing a 3:0

Remember Bapista? He was signed for about 20 Millions, and marked as the ' next big thing', played few games that season then got shipped out to Arsenal for loan, then Roma.. It happens just about every season with Real. If he doesn't cement a spot in the first team, he will move on. It would be great if we take him and Saviold.

They do have an absurd amount of money to spend every year, thanks to their turnover. And band-aid/bust buys never really seem to bother them. Sneijder was out, so they spunked 13 on van der Vaart. Diarra gone, so they get the other Diarra. They had plenty of goal scoring, but when they lost van Nistelrooy they spent another 18 on Huntelaar. When the team gets back to full fitness do they just write these players off? Or do other luxury buys (at the time) like Hinguain and Gago suffer?

On the flipside, they take a player like Reyes on loan, he scores a boatload of goals and plays all over the pitch, helps clinch the title, and is never given a permanent deal. In fact, the guy who followed him out the door was Capello. "Thanks for our first title in five years, but no thanks". I will never understand that club's structure

Quality player, did he play last night?

I dont think he did at all. Curious considering Marcelo started, I think someone like Sneijder brings alot more. The guy guy was integral for Real last year but now that Ramos has them playing well, he doesnt seem to get much time in the first team. But I am sure once he comes back that will all but end van der Vaart's time there.

Sneijder isn't doing so good lately, that's the reason he didn't play the last couple of matches. He was on his top at euro08, but after that things went down for him. Hope he gets back as good as he was @ euro08 because Sneijder is veeeeeery good, even better then vd Vaart.

Cool, thanks for passing along the info/scouting report Yazoola, you seem to be a regular watcher of Madrid and their players. Hope Sneijder gets back to his best soon so we might see Rafael van der Vaart line up for the blues one day

P.S. I thought Ramos might tweak his lineup a little bit to face Liverpool, and I guess he did, but against Betis I really didnt see Marcelo very involved. How attacking do you think Ramos will make the team at binfield? You think the dutch boys get handed a start? Maybe Gago and Diarra supporting Robben-Senijder-vdVaart across the front half of midfield in a 4-5-1?

Ramos just lost it last night. I can't remember last time I saw a team losing 1:0 at home with almost a full bench unused. With Scouser happily settling for a draw, surely he could have taken off either Diarra or Gago, and put on an attacking midfielder or striker.

Get Ballack off the wage bill, and take Van Der Varrt on loan. I know Real and Chelsea are not exactly friends, but who is a friend of those arrogant c**?

Yeah i try to see as much Real matches as possible. It's a great team to look at, especialy Arjen Robben (why did you guys let him go btw?), without over reacting, i'm comparing Robben to Messi these days. I don't understand the situation about Marcello, he's a defender, but i always see him up front shooting balls 20 meters next to the goal... he's like the new Roysten Drenthe, i really starting to think Ramos wants to put 1 totally f**ked up player in the starting 11 every match. They didn't lost last game vs. liverpool because they didn't play good or so, it's just because of Liverpool's greedy playing style, everybody defending, and then 1 lucky goal out of a free kick. About next match vs Liverpool, i don't think you will see vdVaart and Sneijder playing together, they never do, doesn't work. I think Ramos will pick the same 11 as next match but then replace Marcello for Sneijder. They won 9 games in a row before the Liverpool game with that squad... as i said, they lost because of the greedy playing style of Liverpool.

The Scum are running a bit today about how van der Vaart has expressed interest in coming here if we keep Guus on. Hopefully he does, and tells his mate Wesley to join him since they cant get as much playing time at the Bernabeu under Ramos. Okay, I know its just red top nonsense, but oh please oh please oh please

B)

btw, Yazoola, i meant to ask before, are you a Madrid fan? I was just confused by the way you worded that response. Nothing personal, just curious

It seems Van Der Vaart is very sensetive to his wife willings..... So I don`t know, if she wants to move. She doesn`t sit on the bench in Madrid for sure.

And also it seems we have came to belief RA won`t spend much now..... I think we should try to settle Deco and keep sticking with our midfielders - Lamps, Essien, Mikel and Ballack.

I believe our centre area is OK, wide men is what we need....

I don't know what to believe, first we have no money to spend and want to break even. Now since Guus took over roman has apparently found his interest in the club and is willing to spend to get us winning again. The only official word is we will be letting 3-5 go and bring 3-5 in, that sounds about right to me, i just hope we make the right signings in the right areas.
