Miralem Pjanic claims Lyon team-mate Karim Benzema is close to completing a Ј38million move to Manchester United.

Benzema has been a long-term target for United, with Lyon prepared to listen to offers if the France international expresses a wish to move.

Reports had previously claimed that Benzema was willing to spend one more season with Lyon in order to maximise his prospects of playing at the 2010 World Cup.

However, he could now be on his way to Old Trafford after Pjanic revealed the 21-year-old is ready to link up with the Premier League champions.

I'd be gutted to see him go to United - one of the most exciting young players with bags of talent. But you can't expect us to have them all, do you ?

I'm upset about Benzema to United,if true. Always rated him as a player.

However, if we were to sign Aguero, that would more than make up for it, but the way things are going so far I wouldn't hold my breath.

I have known the man for about 4 seasons now - I have coached him, played him and scored with him and I can testify he is complete sh*t. He has decent ball control, but he is slow, can't cross, can't shoot and has amazingly low stamina, which makes him useless for most of the game. A disastrous investment.

Ive watched Obertan for several years now, outstanding ball control, delivers excellent and accurate inswingers that GKs struggle to deal with, and moves like he has a rocket at the back of his oddly shaped head, leaving many fullbacks dead. Also, he was able to go the whols season, playing in cup competitions and europe and was only bothered by a couple of nagging knee injuries, despite a stamina rating of 11. The lad is au natural, and anyone that cant see his obvious talent is either divorced from reality, or letting their Bulgarian bias blind them to the truth!
