Gem
Not the football club, the now ex-Wigan player. Arsenal, Man Utd and Man City have all opened their cheque books before the "official" start of the window. Luckily, tomorrow it starts, and we can wrap up our business early. I don't want to be lagging behind the other times come pre-season in terms of preparation, which is what its feeling like. Argh. Good signing for them though, he'll work hard. Ruh Buh Juh
Wow, that went under the radar a bit. Good luck to him, I've always liked him.
TheWestwayWonder
I think he will be a good signing for them. He always strikes me as a bit small in stature, but he doesnt play that way. He is no Ronaldo, but then not may are I think Valencia + a stirker (not a big name) will be the sum of Man Utd's business this summer.

Link Miralem Pjanic claims Lyon team-mate Karim Benzema is close to completing a Ј38million move to Manchester United.Benzema has been a long-term target for United, with Lyon prepared to listen to offers if the France international expresses a wish to move. Reports had previously claimed that Benzema was willing to spend one more season with Lyon in order to maximise his prospects of playing at the 2010 World Cup. However, he could now be on his way to Old Trafford after Pjanic revealed the 21-year-old is ready to link up with the Premier League champions. I'd be gutted to see him go to United - one of the most exciting young players with bags of talent. But you can't expect us to have them all, do you ? jordanl5182
Benzema would have been perfect for us, a natural Drogba successor. I love saying his name as well!! Oh well...

I think he is going to be a special player, and to get him at 21, well, that just pisses me off. I hope he winds up like Berbatov when he went there, i.e. underwhelming (no offense) Virosh, you just ruined my evening. abramovich
Seems like everybody gets deals done except for us. I'm upset about Benzema to United,if true. Always rated him as a player. However, if we were to sign Aguero, that would more than make up for it, but the way things are going so far I wouldn't hold my breath.
aChelseaSupporter
I like Valencia and rate him quite highly but for some reason I don't think he'll fit united's style... Maybe its just me hoping he ends up being a flop
sdsdsdsd
http://www.goal.com/en/news/12/spain/2009/...ema-deal-report guess its better than him going to Manure but still Madrid are constantly getting stronger. Real is not a concern for us however could prove difficult to beat in Champions League at this rate. Nevertheless i'm sorry its goal.com but it looks legit
TheWestwayWonder
Now, it seems the Mancs have signed this Obertan fella from Bordeaux on a pittance Outside of a few youtube clips, I know nothing about him. Is he any good or just all glitz?

Is he any good or just all glitz? I have known the man for about 4 seasons now - I have coached him, played him and scored with him and I can testify he is complete sh*t. He has decent ball control, but he is slow, can't cross, can't shoot and has amazingly low stamina, which makes him useless for most of the game. A disastrous investment. Yours truly, A FIFA fan. Virosh, I think you got it all wrong (from redcafe) Ive watched Obertan for several years now, outstanding ball control, delivers excellent and accurate inswingers that GKs struggle to deal with, and moves like he has a rocket at the back of his oddly shaped head, leaving many fullbacks dead. Also, he was able to go the whols season, playing in cup competitions and europe and was only bothered by a couple of nagging knee injuries, despite a stamina rating of 11. The lad is au natural, and anyone that cant see his obvious talent is either divorced from reality, or letting their Bulgarian bias blind them to the truth!Yours, an FM junke what say you now, eh? Virosh
An obvious exaggeration from his agent, of course. He can weave around all he wants, but the glaring fact remains he's just not up for it and you know it !
