Correct me if I'm wrong, but I always thought Maxwell was quite good?!! Is Jose losing his mind or is he only worth €4.5m???!!

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Inter Milan to sign Brazilian defender Maxwell in a €4.5m ($6.4m) deal, the Spanish league club said on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old left-back is Barcelona's first signing since becoming the first Spanish club to win the treble - the league, Copa del Rey and Champions League.

Barcelona said the deal for Maxwell, who made 33 appearances for the Italian champions last season, could reach €5m ($7m).

Barcelona, who have been seeking a replacement for Silvynho, had been negotiating with Deportivo La Coruna for defender Filipe Luis but could not agree on a price.

What a steal for Barca, if we asked for him, Inter probably would have told us to pay 20 million.

Barca never seem to play over the odds for their players, I think we need to bring in some of the negotiators!

I believe this guy was surplus to requirements with the emergence of David Santon

However, yeah, at the start of the year, all the talk was over Inter's maurauding Brazilians, Maxwell and Maicon.

Great buy for Barca. I wonder if Abidal is going to be moved on, then

i wonder where hes gonna live..... (go on geezer, bet you cant resist)

I've just posted it. Hope it melts.

sore loser...

Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser

oohh, thats deep man, real deep.

I hope this stifles rumours that Ashley Cole is off to Barca...

Those were my exact thoughts and I'm very happy this deal went through.

none of you think the managers have anything to do with the fees, right?

they'll say which players they want, and the club will do the negotiations for fees etc.

very few top division clubs operate differently.
