February 20Feb 20 One of the prolific Graham Gouldman's first songwriting efforts. The excellent Brian Auger (later of Trinity with Julie Driscoll) on harpsichord. Apparently Clapton only played on the middle section.
February 20Feb 20 Speaking of Brian Auger. Reworking one of Dylan's Basement Tapes songs. I had a teenage crush on Ms Driscoll. Edited February 20Feb 20 by dermott

February 20Feb 20 For all the fans of the 90s UK band Kula Shaker. . .Maki Asakawa - was a Japanese jazz and blues singer, lyricist and composer. Known as the "Queen of the Underground" (アングラの女王, Angura no Joō), she was an important voice of Japan's urban counterculture.
February 21Feb 21 Well not for everyone e.g. the former Prince Andrew, Trump with his tariffs and Chelsea's dodgy front of shirt sponsor. Saying that I do like the cynicism in the lyrics. Edited February 21Feb 21 by Boyne

If memory serves correctly the song or at least part of it was played on a regular basis when Brian Matthew presented Sounds of the Sixties on BBC Radio 2.

Years ago there was an Australian version of "Have I Got News For You" called "It's Good News Week". They used it as the theme music.
February 21Feb 21 Go team GB in the curling ! Go get those "double touching" Canadian kunts. Jazzy bagpipes innit.
February 24Feb 24 Had the privilege of seeing Buddy Rich and his band at Ronnie Scott's jazz club in the early eighties. A great concert. Still the best drummer I've seen and heard live.
February 26Feb 26 Speaking of drums and drummers, Dave Clark wasn't one of the greats. A session drummer, Bobby Nelson, played on their hits, including Glad All Over. Dave, on the other hand, was a very smart businessman. He owned the rights to all the DC5's material and managed things shrewdly. You rarely if ever see the material on compilation albums.
