For all the fans of the 90s UK band Kula Shaker. . .Maki Asakawa - was a Japanese jazz and blues singer, lyricist and composer. Known as the "Queen of the Underground" (アングラの女王, Angura no Joō), she was an important voice of Japan's urban counterculture.

Well not for everyone e.g. the former Prince Andrew, Trump with his tariffs and Chelsea's dodgy front of shirt sponsor. Saying that I do like the cynicism in the lyrics.

Good song, remember it well. Weren't they supposed to be RAF lads? Protegees of the disgusting Jonathan King, sex abuser of teenage boys.

Yes, they were in the RAF and the record was produced by King. If memory serves correctly the song or at least part of it was played on a regular basis when Brian Matthew presented Sounds of the Sixties on BBC Radio 2.

King wrote it too. Years ago there was an Australian version of "Have I Got News For You" called "It's Good News Week". They used it as the theme music.

Speaking of drums and drummers, Dave Clark wasn't one of the greats. A session drummer, Bobby Nelson, played on their hits, including Glad All Over. Dave, on the other hand, was a very smart businessman. He owned the rights to all the DC5's material and managed things shrewdly. You rarely if ever see the material on compilation albums.
