From ebay, Chelsea Zenith cup winners 'The road to Wembley' 1989/90. with highlights from every round including the final.

Chelsea 6 memorable games from the archives of the BBC .

1...Beating man yoo 3-2 in 1969

2...April 1977 v Forest ...2-1. First team debut for a 19 year old Tommy Langley. A game i remember watching on MOTD , & always remember telling my mates next day all about Steve Finnestons winner.

3...Chelsea v Newcastle , Jan 1980 and the crazy Peter Borota , a few names brought back great memories too, Mike Fillery , Gary Chivers, John Sparrow, Gary Locke a great servant of C.F.C., and the brilliant Mickey Droy .All players who were my Chelsea heroes after the Ossie and Hudson era . We won 4-0 and Tommy Langley grabbed a quality Drogba like 4th from a superb cross from Walker.

4...Chelsea v Newcastle, Oct 1980 , Dennis Rofe , now theres a name a lot wont remember , Mickey Nutton, Phil Driver , and Chris Waddle played his second ever first team game for Newcastle. Another match i actually remember watching on MOTD . Great header from Colin Lee for our 1st, great 2nd from Fillery from a free kick, Clive with the 3rd , Lee with the 4th , Gary Chivers with a superb 5th , Lee completes his hatrick with the 6th exactly a year after he scored 4 for spurs . Clive Walker was outstanding that day and the noise from the Chelsea fans was defening.

5..Chelsea v Man City , Nov 1984..[My first ever Chelsea game] Milk Cup 4th round . Speedie , Dixon, Nevin, Spackman, Cannonville, Pates, Jones, Rougvie, Lee, Eddie N, McGlughin, and Bumstead. The noise from the Chelsea fans was incredible. 4-1.

6...Chelsea v Sheffield Wed , Jan 1985. Think we all know what happened next .

Its probably strange and unhealthy enjoying these Chelsea memories as much as our recent success. These were times we won bugger all but they were times where i expected nothing and didnt feel disappointed when we failed to win trophies. To me it was survival and winning was a bonus and those games are as important to me as winning the premiership .

I have the 6 memorable matches one in my collection too...love it, but highlight is still tony gubba as paul canoville makes it 4-3 against wednesday...classic high-pitched commentary!

mind you barry davies' disgust at pat nevin's penalty against city is hilarious too!

Sounds great, I'll need to start looking out a few for myself, if they sell them on amazin in the US. Mind you, I've a multi regional...... hmm, if all else fails I could go through amazon from this site.

I empathise with those feelings. I actually miss the days when we used to try and work out who we could offload in order to cobble together some pennies to buy a promising player. It just seemed a lot more fun than just opening Roman's cheque book.

There was no greater high than turning Liverpool in the FA cup, when they were rampant, and then doing it again in the league, just to prove it wasn't a fluke! I loved those days.

When you're watching these old games....

Don't you find it bizarre when the goalkeeper picks up a back pass?

Plus it makes you appreciate how good the pitches are now. For confirmation of that watch the 1970 FA Cup Final and look at what 'The Horse of the Year Show' can do to a playing surface... :D

Couldn't disagree with that either. There was a point mid-late 90's when winning at Stamford Bridge became the norm and you could tell that losing that uncertainty of result made many of the long-standing fans rather uncomfortable. It certainly did me!

Then again winning trophies is nice. :D

This is true. But Three Point Lane was as bad as Wembley for the semi v Watford. Must have been those donkeys playing on it all season, as I don't think they had a Horse of the Year Show there.
