BlueBeard Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I put the radio on this morning while I was making breakfast, It's normally a good programme on Saturday mornings, playing obscure 60's stuff, but this morning they've done my head in! It was one of those extremely irritating songs that although you hate it with every fibre of your very being, you can't get the tune out of your head. I haven't heard this song in over 40 years I'm very glad to say, and if I hear it again in the next 40 I'll be most pissed off. It was an awful track from circa 1966 called "Today's Monday" by The Scaffold, as obnoxious a bunch of scouse twats as you'd ever want to meet at the best of times. It starts off: - "Today's Monday, today's Monday, Monday is washing day Is everybody happy? You bet your life we are! " Today's Tuesday, today's Tuesday, Tuesday is soup Monday is washing day Is everybody happy? You bet your life we are!" It goes on to cover every day of the week, Wednesday is roaster beef, Thursday shepherds pie, Friday fish, Saturday payday, Sunday church, before it mercifully ends. The Scaffold had two big hits in the late 60's, both utter sh*te, and both sung in their nauseating scouse accents. For some reason "Today's Monday" is sung in another accent altogether, but I'm not sure if it's meant to be a London accent or a Brum one. Whichever it's meant to be, it only makes the song even more puke inducing. I'm going to have to find something else to listen to in order to erase this crap from my memory. I implore you all to avoid this song no matter what, it'll drive you mental. You have been warned!
Chippy Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Best you try some "medicinal compound" mate. BlueBeard Posted January 16, 2010 Author Posted January 16, 2010 That was totally out of order, Chippy - now I've got "Today's Monday" AND "Lily The Pink" going round in my head! I'm sorry my friend, but you've brought this on yourself... WARNING TO ALL OTHER POSTERS Listen to this song at your own risk. BlueBeard accepts no responsibility for any irrational behaviour that results from this dirge The only good thing about that clip is that you don't have to look at the ugly f*ckers who sung it.
Chippy Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 arrghhhhhhhh "Thank you very much".. that was like a kick in the "Gin Gan Goolies". hope that hasn't reminded you of anything mate :)

mad_mac Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 No way am i listening to any of these. I wake up in the middle of the night sometimes and a song will just pop into my head. Sometimes it's a good one and I enjoy it, and doze back off. Other's it's a total c*nt of a song and there I lay with eyes wide open for half the rest of the night trying to get it to bugger off
bluevale2 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Bloody 'Japanese Boy' by Aneka does my head in I can't stand a single second of it, and have been known to get a strange look in my eyes when friends have tormented me with it.
Tim W Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Just waiting for a rush of clips from the Baron Knights, now they were class
jezza Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 As a new dad 15 years ago the only thing the kids would watch was Postman Pat, morning ,noon and night, imagine the looks I got from my Regiment when I was singing about his bloody black and white cat.
