Just two Chelsea players in the PFA team of the year

Featured Replies

after the none shock of rooney winning the individual award, the usual utd bias has continued....considering ashley has been out for only two months it's amazing he's lost out to evra...no place for malouda either...while frank has been patchy at times, 25 goals from midfield ignored? Good to see Ivanovic getting some recognition though

Hart (Birmingham), Ivanovic (Chelsea), Vermaelen (Arsenal), Dunne (Aston Villa), Evra (Man Utd), Fabregas (Arsenal), Milner (Aston Villa), Fletcher, Valencia, Rooney (all Man Utd), Drogba (Chelsea).

Embarassing. Second season in a row Frank's been screwed.

I can see why both weren't nominated though. They've only reached top form in the last 4 months or so, they weren't having the best of seasons in the first half of the campaign.

There's absolutely no sense in having the voting take place in February. And can someone tell me what's the point in Rooney (supposedly the best player in the League this season) not winning Young Player of the Year award even though he was nominated?

No Ashley Cole? Oh well... can't say I'm surprised or that I really care a great deal. There are only two awards I care about winning at this point and they are the Premier League and the FA Cup.

It doesnt really matter, Frank has been hearing pundits say he is worse than St. Starfish for the last 7 years, all the while scoring and contributing more than all of Benitez's flopinhos put together.

Im not bothered, but hopefully Carlo is waving this around at Cobham, talking about how nobody rates us despite the season so many players have had. Use it for what its worth, be a manipulator, cmon Carlo

The PFA awards are a joke and this was proved last year when Giggs won it.

This weekend when Giggs scored the second goal, I said to my United supporting friend that now Giggs should be in the shortlist for player of the year as he has scored two goals...same as he did last year. His face said a lot.

Initial reaction: Fletcher over Lamps???!!

But......I can sort of see why Frank's missed out, if you look at what lots of people on this forum were saying halfway through the season it wouldn't have seemed a surprising outcome at that stage.. and we're biased! His stats have been immense however, and if Giggs can win player of the year on the basis that he's still playing pretty well for a pensioner, then Frank's record this season should speak for itself.

Oh well, we all know he's been the most consistently good player of the decade and can see the incredible contribution he's made to our season.

Massive props to Ivan though, what a breakthrough season! :) ::clap2::::clap2::

Can't wait to see who muscles in there next year, might we see Bruma, Kakuta, Stoch et al kick on in the same way next season?

Evra is an amazing player. Best player for united this season for sure imo. Drogba is so under rated. I just can't see how Rooney is better than Drogba. Certain players strike me as unstopable. I have to confess Paul Scholes is one of them. Drogba is another. Most other players i look at and rate are good, but can't pull of the spectacular which those two do. Frank lampard and Steven Gerradr are on the edge of greatness and frequently produce pure magic too. But with Scholes and Drogba for instance it's very noticable how good they are (as in they are un-playable) .....This is only a young lads OPINION so please don't take it to heart. :D

no worries...but i would argue scholes now only does the business every so often...he's not getting any younger and is past his peak, although he can still weigh in with important goals as we sadly saw the other week...as for evra, yes he's good, but there's no way he's had a better season than ash, even if cole has been injured for two months...playing seven months at a very high level should have been taken into account.

Who cares those awards are a load of bollo**s,as stated above by plokoon13 theres only two awards on my mind at the moment.
